STANDOFF!!

Pah! Your mom...!

My mom is fat, I find this highly offensive and have therefore reported this to a mod, I also once nearly choked to death on a penny, which is a coin, so therefore have reported you too Coin. Plus I once got shot in the face during a mexican standoff so therefore am reporting you a second time Standoff
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey, I'll have you know I am a Mexican[1], so I find your derogatory use of the term "mexican standoff" highly offensive! Mods!!! Over here, the guy with the kitty avatar!
[1] Technically I was born in Derbyshire, to English parents; however, I've visited several Mexican restaurants over the years, and been to Canada which is on the same continent. So I feel I can speak with some authority on these matters. I have embraced my inner Meh'ican, and nicked his big wide hat. -

As i don't want to start flames or disturbance in forums community let me leave it at that: your reason to report that name is wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
Similarly not wanting to start flames, but you don't actually get to make that call unless you're a mod...

Over on the US Boards I have read positron giving Issue 13 haiku:

Lupin can now bring you change
Lets you pick from all"

The loyalty rewards used by most companies all over the planet have very different purposes to the CoX ones.
There, the companies are competing with others to sell people a particular commodity - Tesco want their loyalty bonuses to make you buy groceries from them rather than Sainsburys, Shell gives you toys to encourage you to fill up there rather than the BP station down the road, BA gives you air miles so you'll fly with them rather than RyanAir.
[/ QUOTE ]
I never use loyalty cards, particularly from supermarkets, for one simple reason. Tesco and Sainsbury don't give loyalty bonuses to make you buy groceries from them and not their rivals. They give loyalty bonuses to encourage you to continually use your loyalty card so they can collect more and more data about your spending habits so they can target you more effectively. They probably know more about your day to day routine than you do.
[/ QUOTE ]
And they want to target you more effectively to what end...? -
[ QUOTE ]
to remain on the topic, if it offends you report it. I will usually send a tell to the person telling him / her that the name is offensive or copyrighted and warn them about being generised. Sometimes is just ignorance.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd skip that bit; you might be wrong yourself, and even if the other player agrees with you they're unlikely to stump up cash on the spot to do the rename themselves.
At worse you'll start an argument, at best you'll pre-empt something the mods will do anyway. -

So... those of us who have toons not awarded with "Roman" MUST run this tf again if we want to earn it?
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the easiest way, yes. Complete the TF and you'll get the badge.
[/ QUOTE ]
Easiest for who, GR?
A rerun would be several hours repeating the TF for players, and zero effort for GMs.
Asking for logs to be trawled would be next to zero effort for players, but work for the GMs...if that's an option at all. -
Have a great day - here's wishing you a cake-filled weekend!

People play games until they get sick of them, then move on, thats that. Reward points/prizes dont win anyones loyalty.
[/ QUOTE ]
So loyalty schemes used by companies all over the planet are the marketing people being silly and frivolously giving away stuff?
That's just ridiculous, a product is successful for various reasons, never just one. The quality might be good and it might be reasonably prised, it might be marketed well and have good return customer policies (loyalty schemes). If several aspects of the product are horrible then the product is most likely to fail.
[/ QUOTE ]
The loyalty rewards used by most companies all over the planet have very different purposes to the CoX ones.
There, the companies are competing with others to sell people a particular commodity - Tesco want their loyalty bonuses to make you buy groceries from them rather than Sainsburys, Shell gives you toys to encourage you to fill up there rather than the BP station down the road, BA gives you air miles so you'll fly with them rather than RyanAir.
In each case the service or item in question is available from several possible sources, and the loyalty scheme's there to try to draw you to one particular supplier - if customers are going to get that item from somewhere in any event (and in many cases it'll be an essential), there's a clear benefit to be had by winning people to you.
Loyalty rewards for an essentially unique game like CoX are different though - in that case there's no real alternative, and the core service is entirely dispensable in itself. If the customer decides they really don't like a superhero MMOG and would rather try something fantasy-based instead, being offered a new costume helmet won't persuade them to stay. So, other than the occasional "keep the subs going while on a break" win you mention, loyalty rewards aren't nearly as significant to NCSoft/CoX as they are to other companies. -
Just past 10am.
(To OP - better in Suggestions. Or on the end of one of the many threads already discussing this.) -

I know what alot of people would like
CoX: Both
Name of Zone: meh...
Zone type: PvP
Zone Range:45-50
NPCs: NO NPCs
Description: Lvl 50 PvP FFA

Yup, there'd be literally dozens of people flocking to play in that one... -

So, you'd be happy with a lump of coal for an xmas pressie then?

Given the price of coal atm I'd be delighted!
I could trade it in for a Porsche.

Couldn't afford to fill it up with petrol, though... -

Now, if I was Mender Silos, and looking to set up an organisation that existed outside of the timestream, a similar set up would be quite appealing. Itd probably be impossible to create a base outside of time so a pocket dimension would do just as well.

Um, comic book science? Comic book science in a computer game? -

With the above in mind, we thought we'd give you the chance to post a few suggestions on what you would most like us to try to dig out.

Well, if you could rummage around in Duty Free a bit I'm quite partial to single malts... -
Yep, you're right, a third party (or technically a second party in this case, I guess) has to help - or use a second account yourself if you have access to one...a sidekick account will do if you have one unused.

If you can change 3 insps into any other of the same lvl why not combine 3 into another insps of the same type but of a higher lvl.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because given 5 minutes sitting next to a contact, and a few thousand inf, that would let anyone fill[1] their trays with large insps.
[1] OK, "fill"'s artistic license, as you'll need a bit of working space to hold things to combine.
Edit: Actually, set up a SG base with an Insp Storage unit next to one of those Medibay Insp Factory things, and you could go to town with this. Spend a while converting to large insps and putting them into storage, then finish by filling your own tray with larges and leaving the rest for SG members to use. -

OK:
1) I agree with the idea in the OP - wouldn't hurt, and could be useful
2) You're the one that brought the whole "people using ignore are in the wrong game" bit into the thread in the first place...
[/ QUOTE ]because the way i see the world is they can't really hurt me on here but just be a pain and i pay to play here to interact with people not to shut them out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fine, but if you want to introduce a new (and related) strand of discussion into your own thread, don't be too put out if people start responding exclusively to that strand. -

[ QUOTE ]
i don't believe in the hide and ignore system, IMO if you used these system there something wrong in playing these type of game and you should try a true solo game and not mmrpg.
[/ QUOTE ]
As the ignore system's been in the game from EU launch (and maybe before), and the devs have been enhancing it ever since, it looks like the devs have different ideas about who's meant to be playing their game than you. -
Like the concept, and powers, but suspect it might be a bit too specific for implementation.
Most (all?) current powersets are fairly generic, letting you make up your own details of where the effects come from and chose any origin for them. This set's clearly 100% tech, though, and is very much a "take it with existing details, or not at all" setup. -
While Phantom's description isn't actually how powerleveling's done at higher levels - rather more's used to do it "properly" than simple SKing - the higher level options aren't really worth doing in the range you and your wife are involved in at the moment.
So, her SKing you is as good an option as any - and you will both get shares of the defeat and completion xp (with a slightly larger portion to you, as you're effectively a level lower).
