And so the I13 banter begins...

I don't know about what the Lupin is (with a simple guess, Master Minds now getting werewolf pets ) but i think "Let's you pick from all" part pointing choosing from any AT no matter if you will create a villian or a hero so you can easily go rogue or seek redemption.

(Acutally i was more thingking about getting any powers like CO intending to do but then slapped my head, now i am back to normal)

I believe I13 was meant to be bigger then I12 (or was that the other way around?), so it could be a big change. The villains bit might have something to do with patron powers.

Issue 13 hint already?

And if I'm reading that right.... Lupin will let you change patrons? Since that's the only villain-only locked-in choice I can think of.....

[/ QUOTE ]

I would agree that Arbiter Lupin will be allowing us to change our patrons, a currently "locked-in" choice.

That's exactly how I read it, too.

The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise. ; Techbot_Alpha: Also, what Shadowe said. It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.*

Yeah. It is a wee bit too obvious that this will be about patrons.

If it's not... Then I will actually be surprised for once.

i wouldn't think they'd let you choose from all ATs

I think the devs have said that respecing between powersets will not be implemented.

Although, as I posted above, the haiku seems to be about respecing patrons, I'm confused about the 3 line "Lets you pick from all". Now, we already can pick our patron from all the patrons, so I'm unclear as to what he means by this. Of course I may be reading far too much into a haiku thought up in 30secs to tease the community with titbits of info! ... I probably am aren't I?

Two options, as I see it.

1) He needed to include a line to fill out the haiku, so mentioning that when you respec you will be able to again check from any of the patrons

2) You'll be able to mix-and-match powers from the different patrons. Unlikely.

Ah but that would conflict with the devs statement that some sets are supposed to be unique for their sides.

Although a respec (as Lupin allows - being the CoV Wolfe-analog) wouldn't let you repick powersets.

The haiku appears to apply equally to AT proliferation as powerset proliferation.. but surely going rogue is too much to hope for so soon.....

I don't think you are. I think it's most likely that this will be a change allowing us to respec patrons at Arbiter Lupin.

What if "Lets you pick from all" is a hint that villains will be able to access hero ancillary pools instead, if they wish (e.g. brute getting tanker pools, stalker getting scrapper pools, corruptor getting defender or blaster pools, dominator getting controller pools, and MMs getting ... oh I don't know, maybe defender pools too).

Now I'm probably the one reading too far into it, but it would be the simplest and quickest way for the Devs to sort out PvP balance concerns with the ancillary/patron pools.

Not neccesarily too obvious - it has an obvious interpretation (which you give) but that may not be the correct one! Even the expansion of CoV ancillaries to include non-patron pools (as in CoH) is outside the 'too obvious' reading you give but may be entirely possible.

EDIT - although I agree that Posi is probably not as devious a clue/hint-giver as Silos or our own beloved Kerensky. Isn't it about time K drops some I13 hints...

You are reading way way to much into it.

1) If hero ancilleries where available for villains, you wouldn't need a respec (unless you had already started on a patron) you could just pick them.

2) They are balanced around the AT they are designed for. You can't just copy them across and expect them to be balanced

3) Castle hates Power Boost and Power Build Up, he certainly isn't going to let them spreed, he wants to kill then dead.

4) No mention of the corrolory: Heroes getting patron powers. You can't have one without the other

5) Nothing can balance PvP

I think this allows the Villains to finally get a choice of the good stuff. BUT, I also think the Heroes will be getting a set of Patrons to add a sense of balance. This would be good news.

PS - I am also hoping that they demolish Grandville. That has to be the worst zone in the History of gaming

There is no other explenation. Patrons are the only thing that are locked for villains but not for heroes.

Where has this been stated? First I have heard of it.

Love the powers and are very useful to have on defenders wether it be to hit that little bit hader whilst soloing or for healing the tank in one hit with AB
