You can type /ignorelist when you need to know who you have in there. You can also see the ones on Global Ignore by clicking on Friends and selecting the appropriate command.
As for the new system, I like it a lot.

[/ QUOTE ]you like the idea talk to someone that has made a New Alt and you ask that person to join your team but unknowing to you that person is already on you ignore list as it only list global name and not all Toons name. personel i don't get global name for ever person i invite onto a team to make sure there not on my global list or not.
All i want is a QoL thing addd just a simple message to Ignore when you send a tell or what every to a person it just say You have this person on ignore so you get no reply

I know people don't have the habit of reading patch notes, especially people that don't come to the forums much or at all, but in the system's defence there was a note about it

But all iwant is people to agree on that do use these sytem to have it for tell is this person is ignored by you or is on a Trail account. just a small QoL IMO
if not that message then this this person can not reply back to you, like they got when a villain send a tell to a hero or vice veres

Situation (I am aware of a situation very similar to this that has happened in CoH within the last year): You and your girlfriend are both playing the game. Another player, who doesn't like you, tries to get you and your girlfriend to split up. You both realise what he's doing, but he doesn't stop pestering either of you.

I was responding solely to the quoted part. Regarding your original suggestion, that sounds fine. A little annoying to the ignoring user, since if they have ignored someone, they probably don't want to know that the someone is messaging them, but I was only responding to the bit in your post about people who use ignore and hide should play solo games not MMOs - I was merely pointing out that there are circumstances in which it is appropriate for your average player to use them.

As the ignore system's been in the game from EU launch (and maybe before), and the devs have been enhancing it ever since, it looks like the devs have different ideas about who's meant to be playing their game than you.

It's not hard at all, basically everyone that has posted in this thread agrees with this. I think Shadowe kinda misinterprited a minor detail, but other then that...
Basically what you want added is:
When you send a /tell message, the system checks whether they can reply or not (trail account or ignore list). And if they can't reply, you get notified of this.
Am I right?
If so, I'm all for it too.
PS. BlueRabbit also agreed with you, but also added information on how the current system works.

You're right, Ghostie, I did misinterpret a minor detail - In fact, reading it the way you put it there, I love this idea, and it gets /signed.
I attempted to restrict my original post in this thread to the OPs point regarding his opinion that people who play MMOs should not want to use /ignore (or /hide), and attempted to offer an explanation regarding why even the friendliest of players might have a good reason to use the function (which is not to say that the person to whom a similar circumstance occured is the friendliest person in the game, mind ). Which, since it was brought up by the OP, and related directly to the /ignore function, was IMO on-topic.
So, F_E, so far it seems that we all think your idea is a good one. Some of us also think that there are good reasons to use /ignore and /hide.

the current ignore system suck, Why i hear you ask.
Well me and a friend had a promblem some how he ignored me as he was talking to me, he could send me tells and nothing say that he ignore me but if i tried to send him a message any in form Tell to toon, global or email it say user has you ignore. it took 3rd person to help reslove the mishap.
All i ask is that when someone trys to send someone on there ignore list it will say you are ignore this person hopeful to stop something like this again and incase you ignored that person and asked to join your team and waiting for a reply which will never come back as they can't reply
