'Comic Book' load screens

Load screens that are unique to each mission. Explaining the story line in a comic book like screen. Great for TF's, I've completed a few and havn't got clue 1 what any of the story was ( which consdidering the time and effort I imagine went into them is a shame ) . Come on I might be a chronic suggestion box poster but I think this one is a doozy. /sign , point many devs in this direction, please please please support this idea.

Why not just read the mission text? For a lot of people the loading screen would disapper too quickly anyway, and you wouldn't get all the information to fit.

Yeah, I'm sure the people who take 3 secs to load a mission would enjoy that... factor in the amount of extra resources needed to implement this and it's a no from me.

Not a bad idea, but as said above the load times vary from player to player so those with uber-spec pc's will only get a glimpse of the art.

Again as said above, If you want to know what you are doing, just read the objective on route to the mission! It tells the story of what you are there for, and the clue's you pick up along the way also add to the story. Then on completion you'll recieve a souvenir which tells the story of the heroic role your team played in the TF. There is alot of story to the game and i think its great!

I'm a fan of the idea.
That'd make the game a little bit more immersive in a "comic book" universe. I guess those who have very short load times would either have to ignore them altogether or ask for a "press key to start" option after loading is done.
Of course, the mission text is available to all (although debriefing messages are not), but some illustrations to make us feel more in a "comic book" universe would be welcome. The current load screens are so common I end up losing attention while waiting for a map to load. The few cutscenes (but increasing in number) are useful in that purpose, but I don't get the same feeling as with comic strips.

Now that I do agree with. Perhaps instead they could do a different loading screen for each TF/SF, with a comic panels giving some of the highlights but trying to limit spoilers? It would still be the same screen for the whole TF but would differ from the standard ones.

It's still too much Dev time on something I'd guess most people don't give a frak about.

I alt-tab and browse the forums or other websites when load-times are likely to take over 30 seconds - it's also a good opportunity to channel-flip the TV or change the track/CD on/in my hi-fi, get a snack or take a few sips of a tasty beverage

In a group? That sounds like a particulary bad idea to add a Press key to continue button.

I'm not good at giving advice, can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Could be good for TFs with a comic page detailing the backstory of each TF... but for missions in general it would be too much work and take far too much space to hold all the graphics. so /half-signed

have a "skip" button, and when everyone agrees with the skip it skips the screen.
it's the same as that of GW, but then for a "wait for player start" screen.

Yes I'd agree a 'loaded enter mission button' would be very helpful.

Dont really see how it would be helpful .. just longs out the process of waiting for people to enter mission. The only use i see is if you need to pop afk, you can come back and jump straight into mission, without loading or leaching! Other than that i see no reason to halt the load in.

I don't know. It could work...

I think it could be done for TFs, but the Devs would have to do some tests and get the story summary onto one screen that wasn't lots of text or too crowded.

For example a picture of the main contact with a speech bubble, a picture of another contact or the enemy putting a plan into motion.

OMG this nearly split my sides. As an aside I'm supprised the Dev who proposed the prison idea is still alive he must be the single most cursed man in the CoX universe.

Oh other than that one who designed the cave map with like 4 lvls in the last chamber.
