    E-mail rollback?

    From Avatea:

So, if you lost items, send a petition. If you gained items...

I sent Avatea a PM with the details of this post. Hopefully she'll respond once they know what's going on.

Yeah, I'm not touching my email until I hear from a red name about it.

If I do get to keep them, I'd probably just sell them anyway - I have all the crafted enhancements I need for that build.

Oh yeah. Make that maintenance/patch days, not Mon -> Tues.

And now that I've logged on over lunch, I have 6 recipes in my email that I claimed and crafted a couple of days ago, including a few rares.

    That's right.

The email system be dupin' rares.

This happened a couple of weeks ago, too. Lesson learned - don't leave stuff in your email overnight Mon -> Tues.

Submit a petition and they'll get it back to you, but it may take a few days since they've been swamped with lost item petitions.

Most people I see go for either some type of defense(atleast to 32, to pop a purple and reach soft cap) or go for very high recharge to, in theory, kill anything before it can kill you. It looks like a well rounded build but those thunderstrikes take a ton of slots and don't get you too high in ranged def. Maybe there is something I am missing(I am a noob with these), I am just more of a fan to try and min/max in an area. You are after all playin a blaster
I'm not trying to min/max anything specifically. Right now I have basically common IOs, and a few cheap sets slotted, along with some frankenslotting, so anything I do is going to be a dramatic improvement. A lot of the build was donated from a friend who is leaving the game for deployment, so I took what he had to give into account when creating the build.

I like it! Aim and BU will be up faster than before anyway, with the set bonuses.

So I'm left asking, what's your objective? Ranged Soft Cap? Amazingly high recharge?
Like I said in the OP, I'm not going for anything specifically - I'm just hoping for a better overall character. I like the ranged defense, since I'll be staying at range most of the time, hopping in to blap when it is safe, and of course more accuracy and recharge are always good, but the main goal is improving the character overall without changing my playstyle drastically.

    Quote:
I like the build, very solid, but I'd think you could get more mileage out of some other powers instead of Recall Friend. Being a dedicated Flyer on all my characters, I can speak from experience in saying 'you'll almost never be first to a mission.' And yes, there are times I wish I had Recall. But those times are so rare, i'm happy I didn't drop a selection on it and instead of other powers, like Assault or Hasten.

I'm not trying to talk you out of what you have, just trying to offer alternatives.
Part of the reason I have Recall Friend is from running lots of Shard TFs back in the day. (This character hit 50 in Nov '05.) Since I am a flyer, I could get all my teammates to the missions. Now that there are so many teleport options, plus the jetpack vendor in Firebase Zulu, I may drop it.

I'll have to think about that.
  8. IO swapped. I always forget that Flight is capped out of the box.

At the moment, I'm using all 4 available power pools, so I couldn't add Assault without dropping CJ (which has a LotG 7.5% recharge in it), Recall Friend, or Hasten.

  9. I got some excellent advice from my global channel on finally creating a build my main could be proud of, moving from mostly common IOs to all set IOs. I'd like another set of eyes to look it over and make sure I didn't miss anything obvious.

I'm not going to make significant changes, but I'm really good at forgetting the obvious. He's got a mix of bonuses - decent recharge, acc, damage, defense and regen/recovery boosts - as I wasn't striving to max out on any one stat.

I've been running TFs pretty consistently since I19 was released, and I've seen no change in drop rates. I get between 4 and 6 shards on pretty much every TF I run, including a LRSF on Thursday and an ITF yesterday.

Oddly enough, I tend to get them in pairs. I'll get two within about 3 minutes of each other, and then nothing for a while. Then I'll get another pair.

Av, this generally doesn't have to do with load time IN the game. It's the time the game takes to load from clicking OK on the launcher to getting to the log-in screen that has tripled or worse, and it started with the patch that came with the release of the I19 Strike Pack. It used to take me about 20 seconds of the blue bar saying "LOADING" before the full screen came up, but now it's well over a minute, sometimes more.
  12. that Monster Island was a good place for a mission door?

It's one thing to have to run across Peregrine Island to stop the CoT from controlling the Powers. It's quite another thing to have your mission door guarded by a Quarry and a Thorn...

    Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks.
  14. So I've taken a long inactive hero character out of the box and decided to see what she can do now that I can change her Martial Arts powers from all kicks to a mix of kicks and punches, and also now that there's something else for her to do. (When she originally reached 50, there was no STF, no LGTF, etc.)

So what I'm wondering is if the animation customization options are tied to the costume that you choose in the tailor options. I want to make sure I won't have to change all 4 costumes to get her to consistently have a mix of punches and kicks instead of all kicks.
  15. Ugh, yes. Scroll bars in this game have always been easy to miss. Until they fix it, feel free to point people to the flowchart in my sig. It's crystal clear!
  16. I recently reconfigured my rig to have two monitors of different sizes and resolutions, and it works great for CoH.

What you'll want to do is follow the instructions below about getting both monitors hooked up their own ports in your video card, and then go into your video card control panel and set them up as configured independently. (Otherwise you'll have resolution issues.)

I would recommend making the large monitor your primary monitor, but then moving all the icons and whatnot into the smaller monitor, since you use it for internet browsing, word processing, etc. When you open CoH, it will by default open full screen on your primary monitor, leaving your smaller monitor available for continued browsing, etc.

I love the new setup. I can play CoH on the 20 inch widescreen in 1600x1050 while I have my music player, my IM window and Firefox open in 1280x1024 on the 18 inch monitor next to it. It's also fantastic for respecs, where you can have Mids or a screenshot of your enhancement window open on the secondary monitor while you're in the respec window.
  17. Wow, someone is up early! 7:15 on the west coast!

Hope you're cranking away on I20 and beyond! :-D

    Also, FPARN.

This may shock you Aett, but CoV release and ED took place more than FIVE years ago.

It's OK though, I still consider sonic and archery "new".
  19. While the OP's grammar and forum targeting leave something to be desired, I agree completely with his sentiment. Without an update to the lore, it makes no sense for non-level 50 tasks to be dropping Incarnate shards and/or components. If this is their way of giving us rares and very rares, I would have rather waited until I20.
  20. For those confused, I'll go ahead and plug the Incarnate Flowchart in my sig!

Personally, I always thought Praetoria was somewhere in California, but New Orleans might also work. Mexico City would be even better if it weren't for the former-US detail.
Well, unless the Praetorians found a way to negate the effects of nuclear fallout, it's not anywhere near LA.

From Tyrant's bio: "Even though a Communist reprisal attack destroyed the city of Los Angeles, America won the war, but at such a great cost."

If that hadn't been the case, I would totally list the LA basin as a possible site for Praetoria. We also know it's not San Jose or Orlando, since those are cities mentioned as "elsewhere" in various Praetoria dialog.

Although upon reading the bio closer, it does mention that Cole and Co. used the powers of the Hamidon to cleanse the radiation zones, so Praetoria could totally be in the crater of the nuclear weapon that hit LA.
  22. Most likely it's your imagination. If you really think it's a bug or a strange buff, download hero stats and run the numbers, or watch your to-hit chances in the combat window.
