    Doms!

    [ QUOTE ]
I'll be only using the dom in SC.

    [/ QUOTE ]

for sirens call i would go fire/energy. you get power push for kb and your hold doesnt do -kb so you can spam it worry free. /energy also gets most of its best attacks before 30 too.
primaries dont really matter anymore on doms, especially in sc, unless you plan to rely on knockback, in which case things like mind/ come out ahead because it doesnt cancel kb.
  2. i would be interested in this
  3. wasnt twixt also admiral frost on justice? if not that guy probably got just as much hate for several issues.
  4. if its not too late i'd like to join a team.

    MA good for PvP?

just bumping this old post, has anyone noticed any changes stemming from MA thusfar?
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Kin doesn't have any -recovery. So I'd say therm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    elec has plenty of -recovery.

if you are talking 1v1, i'd prefer the kin. thermal is pretty useless imo, compared to i12 i just cant stand to play mine anymore.

team pvp is dead to me, its basically boils down to multiple concurrent duels anymore.

Spine/regen is still very good, while also still being one of the easiest builds to play. If you can't succeed on a spine/regen, you probably won't succeed on anything. So you should be good to go.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am talking a spines/regen Scrapper. Still good? I haven't had the guts to try him since i13

    [/ QUOTE ]

theres no penalty for dieing, just go try it out. nothing has changed i13-14 for your build if it was up to date with i13 standards. if anything killing people probably got even easier for you in all the zones.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Think of HF as a really big heal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

see thats my problem, if its just a slow recharging heal then i have to slot for +hp bonuses anyway... which eliminates the need for it's +hp portion because anything over the cap is just a waste.
even at the hp cap you still need spot healing(aid self) if you want to stand up to anything with a brain, im sorry but im failing to see how cold is better. is it the defense shield? i thought alot of the elusivity was removed?

btw im respecing my psi/em and also building my elec/mm based on this discussion.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Ice is good, the HF gives you some +Max HP but it only lasts for so long. With it and IOing its very easy to cap your HP on a blaster. But with accolades you can get close enough with out HF. The down side to it is the recharge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

i have had questions about this, i still have force and basically(like 6hp below) capped hp with 40% +rech. if i take cold, how much +rech would i need to have it perma?

also, will hoarfrost slotted along with accolades bring me to the cap alone so i could slot for other bonuses more?

im not sure how smart it is to rely on a click power for your hp capping because if you die the downtime could end up snowballing and end matches prematurely.

i almost want to just keep force because of this, just dropping pff for some filler.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I'm stunned. Guess it's fortunate that in PvPee 2.0 it only lasts 1.7 seconds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    lol
  11. i could see taking fly at 49 if im not already full on pools for some reason, otherwise this is just a convenience for people who dont wanna pl the 1st 20 levels.
  12. instead of ar/traps, you might as well just play a mm that has a gun if its for concept. that way you have bodyguard mode and damage that doesnt require you to redraw your gun every few seconds.
  13. if you are new you should probably play a mastermind, with bodyguard mode and a whole secondary of debuffs you should be survivable and have that "caster" feeling youre looking for. my best suggestion would be necromancy/poison.

if you like pvping after that move on to doms/corrs, they tend to be more difficult to learn with.

    also, welcome to coh pvp
  14. [ QUOTE ]
2 is enough to stop it unless the tank/brute is smart enough to slot for knockback mag...

    [/ QUOTE ]

its a good thing most arent.
  15. needs more knockback protection, at least 8 passive is good to shoot for. take shark skin instead of school of sharks, it takes longer to animate that immob than it will last in pvp and its aoe so the damage is going to be weak. if you can fit in shark jaws its a better attack.

finally, you seem to be building for defense. with that little defense you might as well have nothing, if you can find a way to at least double what you had for ranged and also have that much for melee you might be on to something... but it probably cant be done.

thermals are almost depressing to try to build nowadays, they used to be so much fun i cant even bother loading mine in anymore.
  16. you could slot a ton of devastation procs in all your attacks, they really catch people off guard and do just as much mezz as mezz ats.

    elec/mm

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm with Mercury_Down on that one Elec/MM is not on par with Elec/Thermal but if you know how to play it you'll do fine. I would hold off on getting PFF untill you see what i14 brings to the table.

    [/ QUOTE ]

good advice, hopefully it goes open this week. luckily i havent spent any substantial inf and i can still just use it to perma bridge.

    [ QUOTE ]
attrition can still be done but it'll take alot of PFFing, aid self, and patience on both parties and also way more than 10 minutes because of the use of inspirations. I estimate that the match will eventually be won by you but it will take a good 25 min at least and thats with standard i13 rules. So if you like LMS and have buddies that like LMS or do alot of RV fight Clubbing then this might be the build for you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ive dueled elec/therms that can still sap with dr on. and this was w/o pff being up all the time.

there's a huge difference between hitting a heat ex and hitting a drain psyche

    [/ QUOTE ]

i was thinking since drain psyche is an aoe and people dont tend to build for aoe def in pvp it would be fine. i have 2 perma/purpled /psi doms that i pvp'd on pretty regularly in previous issues and with the mezz system the way it is today i think it should be even easier to pull off.

    [ QUOTE ]
    d) not good.

...elec is pretty horrible in duels with DR. only high damage matters then (remember what all the experienced pvpers talked about during beta), and any top tier pvp build will be able to kill you before you kill them. that will disrupt any draining attempts with drain psyche.

    in all sincerity, you'll do better TF-ing and bone smashing people with a fire/em, a psy/em or a sonic/em.

this toon will only work in a no dr setting where attrition still matters, and then, it will be either ridiculously underpowered against anyone fighting in a No TS setting (drain psyche is pretty hard to land against a competent opponent) or severely op'd against anyone not fighting in a ts no dr setting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

interesting opinion. i'm curious to hear how you feel about elec/thermal corrs? they use the same principle for dueling, are they "horrible in duels with dr"?
  21. Solo_One

    elec/mm

    so its either:
    a) really good
    b) noone knows anymore
    c) noone cares anymore
