Did you read Freedom AC?

i dont play on freedom

so its either:
a) really good
b) noone knows anymore
c) noone cares anymore

d) not good.

...elec is pretty horrible in duels with DR. only high damage matters then (remember what all the experienced pvpers talked about during beta), and any top tier pvp build will be able to kill you before you kill them. that will disrupt any draining attempts with drain psyche.

in all sincerity, you'll do better TF-ing and bone smashing people with a fire/em, a psy/em or a sonic/em.

this toon will only work in a no dr setting where attrition still matters, and then, it will be either ridiculously underpowered against anyone fighting in a No TS setting (drain psyche is pretty hard to land against a competent opponent) or severely op'd against anyone not fighting in a ts no dr setting.

are you talking about that time me and justin were calling people retards for thinking they were ever gonna hit a good player with drain psyche?

interesting opinion. i'm curious to hear how you feel about elec/thermal corrs? they use the same principle for dueling, are they "horrible in duels with dr"?

1. there's a huge difference between hitting a heat ex and hitting a drain psyche. a drain psyche requires both a to-hit check and for you to be in range, that's two things to keep track off. just by positioning myself adequately whenever i'm affectable, i can negate drain psyche.

2. ..and against sonic/em, psi/em, /elec dom or any other toon that can effectively control the tempo of a fight, an elec/therm will receive quite a beating. last time my /elec dom fought a therm the dude quit at minute 4 after i had effectively dodged half of his heat ex's and had 5 kills on him.

just ask trickz on his elec/therm on freedom.. he won't even entertain the idea of dueling under dr and ts on his elec/therm.

attrition can still be done but it'll take alot of PFFing, aid self, and patience on both parties and also way more than 10 minutes because of the use of inspirations. I estimate that the match will eventually be won by you but it will take a good 25 min at least and thats with standard i13 rules. So if you like LMS and have buddies that like LMS or do alot of RV fight Clubbing then this might be the build for you.

Getting the opportunity to activate drain psyche isn't going to be as hard as you think. An elec/mm has two good tools to enable just such a thing: Tesla Cage and Telekinetic Thrust.

2 seconds is more than enough time to close in for Drain Psyche. That means all you need is your +acc and +tohit to work for you.

As far as damage is concerned it's still going to be on par with the other blaster primaries. With resists normalized across the board for squishies (as in base resits to all) you are looking at only a small number of powersets that will higher than normal energy resists (depending on Epic Armor choices, things like artic air, and or tough for squishies and certain melee builds.)

Elec/MM isn't going to be as good as elec/therm but it's still going to be good.

With a good build, this toon will be scary good pvp-wise for duels. Ignore the naysayers above, they just havnt lost to a good elec blast yet.

I wont remake the build for you but have a few points that I can relate from pvp'in several Elec blasts successfully (never/mm tho).

*I would not take thunderous blast, it used to be relevant in arena, but no longer. Take swift instead.

*I dont like snipes in duels, ive seen them work in rare occasions, I think the slots will be used better in other powers.

*Add more slots to Tactics, and Tesla Cage

* Forget about the rectified reticle IO, they work best in Tactics anyhow

That should get you started. But basically, I can see you playing this toon where you KB, or hold your foe, before going melee to use your pbaoe's. Itll work.

have fun,

I'm with Mercury_Down on that one Elec/MM is not on par with Elec/Thermal but if you know how to play it you'll do fine. I would hold off on getting PFF untill you see what i14 brings to the table.

I agree with mercury_down and Nanoob. I have a had an Elec/MM for awhile now,she has an io'ed out duel build.

I would say from my own experinces it's a good duel build and it has the potential to be a great one,but like some have mention it has it the obvious weakness if you miss DP on a target, a good player should be able to land DP on a held target tho.Or atleast use KB and try set it up that way,(hold procs makes this somewhat easier too.)

But like with most duel toons there has to be a good player behind it before you can really judge the real potential with a toon, maybe when/if more people makes elec/mm's you can tell how good it is but right now there dosent seem to be that many around.

I'm a duelist at heart but there is really hard to find duels these days..maybe when issue 14 goes open beta.

i was thinking since drain psyche is an aoe and people dont tend to build for aoe def in pvp it would be fine. i have 2 perma/purpled /psi doms that i pvp'd on pretty regularly in previous issues and with the mezz system the way it is today i think it should be even easier to pull off.

good advice, hopefully it goes open this week. luckily i havent spent any substantial inf and i can still just use it to perma bridge.

its easy to get DP off...if you hit first with TKT. With DR...you can KB any squishy regardless what they have. I think the issues isn't with being able to land DP...it's more surviving long enough til they run out of inspires.
