  1. On the CoH Facebook page it was confirmed that the power is permanent.
  2. Claim all sucks when using on a non-level 50 toon as some of the "account" awards you may have are limited to being level 50. When you use Claim All, it gets "stuck" on those rewards instead of jumping to the next that you meet the requirements for.

    Might buy a mac!

As an outsider looking in, personally, I wouldn't depend on a Mac to play CoH. I've seen so many threads popping up lately with folks who have issues running the game on them. Granted that Macs may be good for various tasks, running CoH seems to be hit or miss depending on what version of MacOS you're running.

I'd recommend reading through the Mac forums here and see what folks have been saying lately.

If playing CoH reliably is a big part of your computer purchasing decision, you may wish to consider other options.

Just my 2 cents Good luck!
  4. Yo-ho-ho and a barrel of nachos, arrgggggg!

Ye best not be layin' a finger on me klondike bars lest ye be wantin' to be swimmin' with the Krakken*!

*Not to be confused with the Krakken in Perez Park that, as of last time I checked, does not swim.
  5. I'm surprised no mentioned Fire/Kinetics controllers. :E

    I <3 my Zombeh.

I think my slotting is a bit unconventional (Everyone I show it to kinda scratches their heads and goes Huh?)

Still, for me and my play style it works.

Leveling it up may be kinda sucky, but running at level 50 I find it so much fun.

He's good for TFs/Trials, Missions, Farms, and such. I don't think he'd be good at PVP, at least not with his current build anyways.
  6. As awesome as this could be, I just don't see how it could work.

I mean... okay, boy/girl Ranma could work... but Genma/Panda, Shampoo/Cat, Moose/Duck.... uhhhhhhhh that just screams bad CGI.

Wait wait wait... live action Shampoo? Okay, this needs to be made NOW.

    End Game Content

One thing I've noticed is that there's only 50 character levels, for an MMO that's 7 years old that's.... not very much

So, considering the max level is so low, what's the end game content like and how long will it keep you busy for? As it's one area almost every past MMORPG I have played has let me down in.
I guess it depends on your view of the game overall. I mean, when you think about it, there's quite a bit to do in City of Heroes.

The one major thing about the game is that it's alt-friendly and alt-encouraged. So, even if you level a character from 1 - 50, you can do it again and again and take different routes to get there.

For argument's sake, let's say you have 1 character that you particularly like and want to "advance" further. Well - you have the Incarnate System - 10 additional "levels" so to speak with different methods of achieving them (only the first 5 "slots" are available). Trials/grinding may not be your thing... so what else is there to do?

Well... there's the Market (Mini-Game). Some folks enjoy buying/selling/crafting (not necessarily in that order) and making themselves ebily rich.

Not your thing? Okay, you have the AE to make your own stories/missions. Or you could play through other users' stories.

Still no good? There are various zone events throughout Paragon, Praetoria and the Isles. You can be any level (more or less) for those.

Then there's Hamidon raids, Mothership raids, and things of that nature. Those can be fun.

Badges badges and more badges. Between all the various badges and the methods to achieve them you can definitely keep yourself busy trying to get them all.

And I'm sure there's more stuff to do that I'm forgetting (Oh, RP - if you're into that kind of stuff) but you get the idea.

So while the path to 50 these days seems like a much shorter road as compared to days of yore, there's still plenty of stuff to do in game if you're willing to take advantage of it.

Or they can surprise me. (I don't expect to be surprised.)
I was thinking they would charge us per character, per pool and per color.

But yea, I would not be surprised if this wound up in the store at one point or another.

Maybe they're saving it for a rainy day when sales are down? Who knows...

    Tinypic.com

Tinypic (and photobucket actually) use different servers for their pictures that people upload. It's possible that while most pictures load fine, some won't if they're on an affected server. Kinda like how if Virtue is down, you may still be able to access Victory, Freedom, etc.

I use Tinypic for my sig pic and have noticed times when they have been down, but my page will still load completely - just sans the picture with a "connecting to tinypic.com..." at the bottom. (FireFox btw)

On a side note, I have noticed that some websites with links to Google+'s "Plus One" and actually some of Google's ad servers won't load past a certain point if it's having trouble connecting to them.

    //Edit

I just had another thought: Do you have a Firewall / Ad Blocking Add-on / Somethingorother possibly blocking Tinypic? I use Add Block Plus for FireFox and have on occasion blocked sites that I didn't mean to... like Youtube >_>
  11. My only gripe with Hoverboard is that it turns off all toggles when you activate it.

I wish it would just suppress them instead.

Other than that - fun power for sure!

Oh, and I'd also love it if I could /em dance2 on it. But that's another story...

Didn't they already "raise" prices when they broke up the booster packs? Even with the bundles, the prices are still higher.

And in regard to the "free" points VIPs get monthly, if I have to spend them on things that I feel I should be getting with my subscription anyway, it's not really free.

(Yes, I know, what I "feel" I'm entitled to is highly subjective and doesn't mean squat but I can still use past issues as a baseline comparison)

Fair enough, but my question is more so as of Freedom's launch yesterday(this morning) how many points should we have banked in our account?

    800?
  15. So how many points should we have from July 1st til now?

For a VIP and T9 VIP?

I wouldn't put it past them to charge for something like that though.

    Staff Fighting

The text of the last descriptions boggles me. You have to "purchase Staff Mastery" to get them?

I hope that doesn't mean you have to buy Staff Melee in the store and then buy some type of upgrade power for the set.
  18. I just wanted to take a min to thank Xeaon et al who ran the Underground Trial last night.

The first run was smooth until the end. I'm going to attribute that to lack of experience running the trial.

Second time around, when we (those of us who didn't run it in Beta) knew what to expect, it was easy peezy lemon squeezy!

Sadly though, Avatar of Hamidon does not like nachos. Very very sad

Next time around I'll have to check if he likes Klondike bars... but I don't have my hopes up.

Also the servers are "up" for testing but you can't log in. Hold your horses, you won't be able to log in until at least 1 pm Pacific Time at least.
I can't say I'm surprised by that. As I recall, most Issue releases run into some type of problem, so this isn't all that shocking.

I was contemplating leaving work early, but now... not so much.

Yea, if a bunch of people were reporting that they -had- points in their account, and I didn't, I'd be slightly concerned if that were still the case after the servers were up.

If the points granted are tied to the in-game store, and it's not up yet, I can see why we wouldn't have them.
  22. SolarSentai

    Points!

I'm showing 0 points also in my PlayNC account...

Are the servers even up yet? (I'm at work so I can't check)
  23. If I had to guess, I would say it's because of amount of people downloading i21 right now.

A few days before the van arrives the dealership calls you up and tells you that the manufacturer recently changed the terms of the promotion. Now, instead of one $1200 gift certificate upon delivery, you'll get a $100 gift certificate every month for a year. You can save them and they are good for all the same things, you just can't spend the $1200 immediately.
I think that's a perfect way of putting it. When I make purchases, I tend to look for bargains, deals, promotions, whathaveyou... so I may very well only purchase something because of the bonus it's coming with. I think that's being a smart consumer.

It really bothers me that they came to the realization that it wouldn't work 1 day before i21 launches. You would think that it would've been something that was realized much sooner.
