Is the NCsoft Launcher suppossed too be this slow?

As of now, it's been over 30 Minutes since I've begun too download Issue 21 & so far, I have only downloaded 6% of the new udpater & the amount of time keeps changing. It went from almost 400.00 too over 1,200.00 Minutes.

What's wrong with this thing?

The NCsoft Launcher even said that it was a, trickle download.

Yay, it just made it too 7%...

If I had to guess, I would say it's because of amount of people downloading i21 right now.

Yeah try to do update with the launcher i did and was complete in under 20 minutes hope this helps.

Launcher blowing here at 4.8MB/sec, not that often i see a huge expension going this rapid

My speed right now is at 105 KB/sec.

Well, actually, someone from the Beta Server did give me some instructions earlier today, but, so far, I haven't had any luck with it yet.

Copy the beta install, replace the live install with the beta, select consistency check from the launcher.

Go into the directory, press control-A then control-C. Go into the live install directory, press control-A then control-V. It'll ask you if you want to replace the files. Tell it yes. Wait for it to finish.

On your launcher, go to the beta install, press the little down-triangle, press properties. It'll give you the directory where you installed it.

Remember to run a consistency check you copy it over.

Yay, it's around 3 ******* hours later & now, I've only downloaded 25%...

Left the launcher up and running this morning.
It schlorped down the update some time between 9AM and noon.

It then needed to download about 80 megs or so of patch fixes afterwards during the repair stage.
Something was corrupt during the final check so I sent it back to repair again. It logs in now at least to the server list.

Did you actually click the 'Update' button on the launcher yourself? If you don't, it will "Trickle Download." That's what you're seeing. Trickle Download downloads the game at a really low speed so that it doesn't take up too much bandwidth and slow down your connection. You can get the normal speed by actually clicking the 'UPDATE' button. There should be a popup with progress and whatnot.

Idk....I clicked update myself, and it's at about 250 kbs/sec and It's saying I need 200 minutes to complete it ._.

at 250kbs for a 2.5GB patch... it *sounds* about right...

You guys are using the old CoH patcher or the new launcher? Normaly i was always the slow one on the old CoH patcher (specialy US one), but the launcher (EU zone selected) is pweeeheeeheetty fast.

Wow, my own is extremely slow too. I'm lucky to get it at 100KB per sec. Tried the copyin' over of .piggs from my Beta and Test folder to my CoH one and didn't change a thing.

I have a 600KB/ish uploadspeed, i could zip up the folder at put it somewhere? Though the server would be EU located, unlikely it will give any speed for you US people.

Edit, i dont have any host available that can hold 3GB of data Did you run the launcher as admin?

Man, it might be better than this? I'm not sure what this issue is. I know it's not trickle downloading. I've restarted it several times. I wonder what could help this situation out.

Yeah... it's not so much that the downloader is slow, it's just that the thing is freakishly huge... 2.5 GB. That's almost the same size as the original game.

I wish they would have released a pre-download, like they used to.

Not to put it in your face, but I didn't have any issues my game updated in about 30 mins or so total...

On a side note

IN MY FACE it updated but I can't play it. So don't feel bad if it takes you a while since the server aren't even online yet.

No matter how big, it shouldn't affect the download speed, only the download time. Yippy, at 54kb p/s!
