    Indeed, that was the one thing I hated about the old Light Form (not being able to see your costume). If you remember what the old Light Form looked like (little floating puffs of energy), well these are still there - they just sort of Hover around your character now, like an Aura.

    Yup, and a neat side effect of the Health Crash is that you will first be healed to your full Health and then lose half of that, so if you are below Half Health when the crash happens, it will actually Heal you a bit, back up to half your HT bar. Essentially, when the Crash happens, you will have half a HT Bar, no matter what your HT was prior to the crash.

    Huh...? Old Lightform sure, but New Lightform, I have it Perma and have it on constantly and I see my costume just fine.

    The Cons of Light Form are the crashes (half your health and half you End), so if you're run perma like mine they happen often. So you have to keep some blue Inspirations around (your self-heals are enough to handle the Health Crash).

    Other than that, it's an awesome gamechanger. Since I have it perma, I don't even have Quantum and Thermal shield anymore. I keep Shining Shield 1-slotted to hold the +3 Def unique IO and it alone makes up the S/L resist difference for Light Form, thus I'm ALWAYS 85% resist to everything except Psi.

    Slotting for some defense combined with my Heals, this Character is much harder to Kill than my IOd to the Gills Scrappers and Brutes. It's extremely close to my Inv Tanker as well.

    The biggest weakness is Mobs that Slow Recharge - they can cause a Gap in my Perma Light Form

    Is it your IOd lvl50/Incarnate Khelds that fill that way? Do your Lowbie Khelds on a team trying to beat a difficult boss with a Cyst spawning right beside him feel the same?

    My Incarnate PB eats Cysts for lunch, even solo. But when I was lower level, I remember not being able to complete a TF and many missions (and the team's gripes) because of a badly placed Cyst.
  5. As always, so many suggestions that KB is good but only if used 'properly'. Problem is, most of the playerbase does not use KB properly and never will use KB properly. These suggestions mostly fall on deaf ears. To keep preaching it hoping that the majority of KBers will someday 'get the message' is wishful thinking at its finest.

    On my PB, I do try to use KB properly when teaming, meaning I spend time not killing so I can position myself to better KB mobs into acceptable areas (walls, corners) and insure that, by staying at a Mob's edge, my Solar Flare only hits less than half of the foes it could hit just so I don't scatter them 360 and upset my teammates.

    So, an alternative really is needed. Make KB more desireable (perhaps extra smashing damage, like a proc, everytime a foe is KBed). Make it toggleable (perhaps via a setting from the Null the Gull). Make a unique IO that gives -KB to all your powers (like Blessing of the Zephyr but applied to your effects). Something... Anything...
  6. Totally agree. And we still have those good ol' Cysts. These precious crystals that the Nictus use to travel and to sit in when they don't have a host so they won't die of premature old age - I've seen one of them on a Pererine Island streetcorner with Carnie Streetwalkers.

    With the recent PB changes, I can solo at +8 now, so I encounter Cysts quite often while soloing these days, and it still blows my mind that this 'feature' still exists after all this time.

    Of course, it is pretty cool that I can take out a Cysts solo these days while being in the middle of a +8 spawn

    Ahhhh...good ol' Time Travel Quandaries.

    If the futurites believe that killing me can change the future, that means they believe the particular future they fear is, well, changeable. If it's changeable, then certainly it could be changed in ways that maybe involve something less drastic than my death, such as, I dunno, maybe me just deciding not do the drastic thing that future history says I did to cause the apocalypse.

    So, no, I would not die. If the future can't be changed, it can't be changed. If it can, then there's more than one way to change it - and my premature departure is off the list.

    As a dedicated Human-only even prior to I21, of course I love what they've done for the human form. I agree, though, that as a shape-changing AT, the alternate forms have to bring something to the table that the Human cannot approach, because it is true that if Human can get close to what another form can do, there's really no reason to take the form outside of 'kewlness'.

    *you have to come up with new animations along with new power stats (likely for more than one AT, thus having to account for AT differences). The new set will have to have some new Schtick (ex: StJ's buildup combo thingy) to differentiate if from similiar thematic sets, then you'll have to run it thru mega-testing to insure balance

    vs animations for old powersets
    * new animations that you have to time to fit in to an existing, already tested, already balanced set (oh, and update the costume interface to allow them to be selectable)

    If the Devs say the latter is harder than the former, then I suppose we must take their word for it (standard code rant). Of course, as a programmer myself, I know it's quite easy to say to people without access to it that a set of code is harder than another set - not that our devs would do such a thing haha

    edit: to be fair, I also know from experience that sometimes easier appearing stuff on the surface is in fact harder behind the scenes.

    This. It irks me to think they may just make entirely different sets from this point foward when ever a new idea comes up. I really like to play my characters that are 3-4 years old. I like the way their powersets work and flow. The only thing I'd like to change is alternate animations here and there.

    It's not just about the money either. They could charge for alternate animations. I'd pay for a pack of alternate animations and the ability to color my PBs powers yesterday.

    The damage is only negligible when soloing, so maybe something like the defender treatment - treat their Cosmic Balance as if they are always teaming with a Scrapper, a 'Fender, and a 'Troller (or the other ATs that produce the same). Then, the first real AT of that type they team with has no further effect on Cosmic Balance, but two or more does.

    Also, (*cues old song*), someday for the love of <insert preferred diety> may they decide to limit KB. I often do not use my best AoE, Solar Flare, on teams because the act of "Using KB correctly" (ie. getting on the edge of a spawn so I hit less that half of the foes I could have, but at least I'm not irritating my teammates too much) ... well it annoys me too much.

    If PBs were the Kings of AoE (we do have a lot of AoEs truly, as Arbiter Hawk points out) and if we were able to land one AoE after another without scattering them away from our own followup powers, then I'd be totally happy with No Damage buff.

    Kheldian get 5 more powers in their primary (14 to 9) and 4 more in their secondary (13 to 90) than regular ATs do, so I think the general attitude might be that Kheldians sort of have APPs - they're just kind of klunked in there with their regular powers.

    And yet we get finger-wagged when we start new threads instead of searching for older threads about the same topic first. Damned if ya do...Damned if ya don't...

    I probably would've done a Nyaaa-nyaa post too if my idea had received this level of vitriol only to be implemented a few month later. People that instantly and harshly attack any new ideas (and there's a bit too many of them here) deserve pie in the face.
  21. With Hasten and Lightform both at their ED-capped recharge limits, I got Lightform perma with around 82% extra global recharge. That just barely covers it though - the Icon is blinking when it finally comes available again. If any foes hit you with Slows or you forget to hit Hasten soon as it recharges, you will have some no Lightform exposure time. I'm looking to get a bit more global recharge to make the overlap a little longer.
  22. Yeah, handwave it away. In my head, I RP away most of the game's factions, politics, and history. I have my own superhero world that overlays this one - even the warwalls don't exist in mine.
  23. Hmmm... depends on my Superhero power level.

    If I were Superman's powerlevel, forget a normal life. I'd pick a small Island to be my home, and convert it to a paradise above ground, and an impenetable fortress below ground. I'd allow people (incl friends and family) to live there, but each and every one would get a background check from me. On this island, I am the State. And every other nation would be given due notice and the promise of massive retaliation if they considered mucking around with my little world.

    Like Superman did, I'd likely renounce my citizenship to any one country and consider myself a citizen of the world. For my relationship to the rest of the world, yes, I'd want to help out, even be a hero but I'd want to ensure that I wasn't overstepping any nations' sovereignty (which even trying seems like it happen even when trying to help)...

    So, I'd probabably make an arrangement with the United Nations; that anything major the world wanted me to do must be voted on and approved by that body. They'd have to change their voting to be more equatable, though - those 5 permanent security council members would have to go if they want me to consider them legitimate. Otherwise, I'd try my best not to get too involved, as I can't see it working out in the long run unless I literally take over the world, which I would not want to do.

    I'd pretty sure I'd make secret excursions to other countries here and there, pretending to be normal person and doing all kinds of exploring and touristy things, but I'd try hard not to get involved unless it was UN-sanctioned, as detailed above

    If my power level were less, say in the Spiderman range, I'd probably still continue to live the a somewhat normal life (meaning I'd try to keep a secret civilian identity, regular job), but I'd certainly try to find ways to use my powers to benefit myself, my family and friends, and others in need (although I likely wouldn't go too far out of my way for the latter - no patrolling like batman does)

    Thats right, enemies did 30% more damage to us if we were alone back in the day. The toggle shields allowed us to break even.
    That anyone ever thought this was a great idea and playerbase would approve of is just...mind boggling

    I consider Buildup -> Inner Light a damage buff. You used to get =80% for 10s. Now it's +100% for 10s, then +30% for 20 more secs.
