with no stacking of the buff on the hero/villain
[/ QUOTE ]
That is the main reason a lot of people use it, to stack it for the double buff. -

If I was able to jump and higher/further with the jump jet, then I would land in a different MMO. So, needless to say i am having fun with it.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's great! What I wouldn't give to jump over to WoW, switch to Nova form, then start blasting the heck out of everybody!
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I was considering giving "Blizzard in WoW" a whole new meaning.
Bonus if I could grab an AV or two on aggro and kite em over the dimensional threshold. Lord Recluse would have a happy fun day shish-ke-bobbing the gnomes.
[/ QUOTE ]
If the worlds came together CoX characters would kick the snot out of other MMO's. -
I have only tested it on my lvl 49 that has 3slotted swift, 3 slotted hurdle, 3 slotted sprint, and 2 slotted SJ.

I found the jet to be awesome. As a villain, it let me jump high enough to clear the invisible wall around Breakout, and actually fight in the arachnos/guard/longbow battle (and get my butt kicked).
[/ QUOTE ]
That's interesting. The Christmas Event Jingle Jet wouldn't even let you *fly* over the wall there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, and I tried everything I could to get in with the jingle jet -

Can you imagine how powerful the pocket d temp power would be for pvp if it had a reasonable activation time. It would make all escape powers pale in comparison.
[/ QUOTE ]
And that is why it has a long, interruptable activation time.
[/ QUOTE ]
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away we were told the PvE experience would never be altered by the introduction of PvP...o well. -

Since this has come up so often, I guess I will leak a feature of Issue 8:
You can change your title at any of the following levels:
15, 25, 35, and 45
At 50 you can change your title at any time.
You need to visit a trainer still to change your title and they "don't stack" (in other words, if you don't use your level 35 change, you don't have two changes when you hit level 45).
There is no Influence or Infamy cost associated with this.

Very cool , thanks. -

Teleport reticle and Patron-granted Respecs are two I should have mentioned, but since our guys have already fixed those internally here, they fell off my list. Sorry.
As for players who think they will just be albe to drop every mission they get to PL off a contact... think again; we're crazy. Not that crazy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Could that mean that when you drop a mish, you actually drop that entire contact and can't get it back? If so, fair enough for me. -
[ QUOTE ]
FYI: Electric Shields' Grounding Power will have Immobilize and Knockback Protection added. The set will still not have a Heal power or HP Buff power.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks. That is going to add a lot of flexibility to peoples builds, and in turn add a lot of more fun. -

While I had LBs, most of the arc I had dealt with taking down Ace McKnight (MA/SR scrapper). He is a +2 EB on solo relentless.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its more like Ace McWowyouhithard.
He came close to 1 shotting me when i was running overlaod (so i had 1000 more HP then non overload running brutes would have)
Has anyone been one shotted by hit yet? -

2. TP Foe brings the MM and his pets, and the specific target (i.e. the MM, is replaced with a random pet)
I disagree with this, as this negates the usefulness of TP Foe.
[/ QUOTE ]
A MMs pets ARE his powers. If you use tp foe on a tank or blaster, do their powers get left behind? A MM's powers should not be left behind by using tp foe on him.
[/ QUOTE ]
Could not have said it better myself. With or without bodyguard, this is a major issue that needs to be addressed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you realise what kind of precedent that sets? Should my Controller automatically bring Spectral Terror, Phantasm, Decoy Phantasm, and my Phantom Army with me if I'm TPed?
What about a Fire Tank? Should Burn come with him when teleported? Dark Servant? Rain of Fire?
[/ QUOTE ]
Only if it they can fit in the overhead compartment. Otherwise you will have to check them -
[ QUOTE ]
Okay, so with 3 henchmen, 100 pts of damage gets spread out as though 5 people were hit: 100/5=20. Henches get 20, you take 40.
So if I have 5 henches, the damage gets dropped to 14.20, so the henches takes 14.2 each and you'd take 28.4?
Basically, you've got almost 70% RES to damage, so long as the henches live?
[/ QUOTE ]
MM ... The new tank. Pluse this 70% res is not a toggle and so takes up no endurance to run. Put together a solid attack chain and your in business -
[ QUOTE ]
I'll have to play with it some more and see what's going on.

How many times have we all siad that in our lives. -

3) Datamining -- I looked at Blaster/Scrapper a few minutes ago. In terms of raw kills, Blasters are the better PvP killers, but only if they have Energy Manipulation. Without EM, they are roughly 60% of scrappers numbers. In terms of kills to death ratio, Blasters are slightly behind scrappers with EM, but competing with Defenders and Dominators for lowest value Note, that these are solo values! Things are very different in team play.
[/ QUOTE ]
What are you datamining for this? For example, in Siren's, you get stuff for killing people, and you lose nothing for dying. So I will often charge into the thick of a pack or port one person away and try to take them out with my ice/em, even if I know it's possible or probable I'll die in response. Even when low on health, I fight on, since defiance gives me a chance for a kill and dying means nothing.
As far as blaster secondaries, I think devices is quite servicable in pvp, although lacking buildup is a huge disadvantage. Then again, tp foe+trip mine is a pretty nice combo. One trick pony, but a NICE trick.
The others, well, both their attacks and their utility are a bit behind em. I mean, you can't compare conserve power vs burn.
There is something else though: EM is self selecting. It has a small edge over the other sets, for certain. However, players who play extensively in PvP are fully aware of such an edge, and therefore their characters (like my main PvP character) are built with this in mind. So people "dedicated" to pvp pick the best set even if the edge is small a disproportionate amount of the time. Casual players pick their sets based on concept, aesthetics, or whatever. Then they PvP. They lose more because PvP is a lark or an experiment for them, or perhaps a quest for a badge.
To verify this claim, simply data mine those PvP blasters who have /EM, and check the percentage who have Ice. Hardly proportional, eh?
[/ QUOTE ]
Very good points. For anything that involves data mining (not just in a game) the raw information is just a starting place at best.
I guess they would then need to go one step further and break it out by serious and casual PvP'er. Time spent in PvP combat should be a decent way to do this.
Among casual PvP'ers it may show all set are around the same, and therefore the other sets should be buffed to make the hard core PvP'er need to rethink choices and also it would ensure the casual player puts together a decent PvP set even if that was not a goal they set out for at the start. -

So here's a serious question.
Why doesn't the Brute who takes Mace Mastery get a SMASH power. You put a gigantic mace in my brute's hands...it just screams SMASH!!
[/ QUOTE ]
But the same can be said of Mako... I'ld much rather bludgeon folks to death with a shark carcass, then shoot spirit sharks.
[/ QUOTE ]
O god, please let me smack someone up side the head with a dead shark in PvP. I would be like "ha... i just hit you with a dead shark..". and then say "it looks like your FINished now" -

Im actually wondering
IS this an APRIL FOOLS JOKE?
I cant believe they would actually put out powersets this bad, and not have then changeable.
They are so inferior to the hero versions that are changeable. I just dont see it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats a lot to say before we know the #'s on even one power. What if all attacks are twice as powerfull as Epics? or the defense shields are twice as strong?
The only real issue i see is that many peple mya have a hard time making one of the pools fit with a current character concept. I mean we have almost nothing water related in game and then all of a sudden we are tossing sharks at people. Don't get me wrong, im all for a good shark tossing, it was just never in the cards before. -

here is the response

You do realize that Cuppa works for NC Soft, not Cryptic, right?
She's not even in the same state as Cryptic and their QA team working on I7...

No was not thinking of that at all. Who would be the best person to ask? -

Costs for a 10-slot inspiration bin? 1million!
Cost for a 10-slot enhancement container? 500K!
I'm just afraid to even ponder how much these things will cost.....Everything even remotely nice is priced so that small groups can't get them. I'll wait till it hits test to see if my SG has a chance at ever owning one.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just so you all realize, the prices Lektrik wrote are completely made up.
Everything in this issue will be "reasonably priced". It doesn't make sense for us to set out to help small supergroups and then charge large supergroup Prestige for the items.
[/ QUOTE ]
Am I the only one that feels the fact you have to be in a SG to even have access to a storage bin is a bit strange?
A place to store things is one of the most basic features of every online and off line RPG that has ever existed and we are supposed to consider the fact they are finally adding it, along with all its restrictions as a new 'feature'?
A way to store and transfer things should have been part of the game from day one. This is more playing catch up then an actual advancment to me. -

LOL dont even think of having SS as a travel and goign to this zone.

funny you say that, as I read I was sooo happy i have SJ on my 40. Looks like fly would be really fun to check everything out however. -
i figured the one shot code would have kicked in at 95% and above. either way the same people who complained about 1 shotting will continue to complain about 2 shotting.

Well, at least no one will be jealous of Tankers
I just really want to play an evil Warshade/Nictus.
[/ QUOTE ]
But i think that tanks are gonig to be jealous of brutes, they will see people with the same powersets doing more damage in a world that does not really need someone to take the excessive amount of damage the tanks role calls them to do.
I also look forward to this option because i want some of my CoH toons in the CoV world (they would have been made there if CoV existed from the start) -
[ QUOTE ]
Okay, not that I want to be flamed or anything (I also agree that SR sets deserve some lovin'), but doesn't this necessarily mean that a person is exposed to the same amount of risk (up to +5 levels) for increasing reward (up to +5 levels)?
Doesn't this contradict the idea of reward scaling with risk?
[/ QUOTE ]
no, when you do get hit it will be for a lot more from a +5 then an even level mob. but now you will actuall have a shot in hell of avoiding enough hits to take someone down first
