Quote:Yes, you are wrong. There is no one to do your request. The remaining staff of Paragon Studios consists of forum mods. Zwillinger is in charge of telling the community what NCsoft is dictating to the players in as nice of manner as humanly possible. Your request means less than nothing to the management of NCsoft.Everything i read pointed to the fact that Zwillinger is one of the last few remaining in Paragon Studio at the moment. As i understood, he is still the representant.
Am i wrong?
There isn't a designer or programmer left. Even if there was someone able to do your request, there is no way that they would be able to get approval from NCsoft. -
Quote:You're going to die without breathing forever...Chad, if you are not a hidden redname then you will surely not know how difficult this specific task is. (Meaning: some task need programmer, some task need designer, and this may be difficult or super easy... we just don ´t know)
so... I think i hold my breath. :P ^^
It quite clearly states in the farewell announcement:
http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/news/n.../thank_you.php
Which Zwillinger repeated on the forums:
Quote:Effective immediately, all development on City of Heroes will cease
Zwillinger is responsible for none of those three roles. More to the point, if Zwillinger said that they can't change the settings behind the scenes, then what makes you think that they can do so in a way that players can access?
Quote:Now for the details, starting on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, all accounts which were previously subscribed as VIP as of September 1st, 2012 will be flagged as VIP for the remainder of the duration, sans recurring billing. Unfortunately we will not be able to flag any accounts that were not VIP as such during this period. -
Quote:I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the original CoV box code would equal a CoH box code. It has been that way since NCsoft took over the game.Well just tried with an original CoV box code and got "The serial code has expired". I guess I'm screwed.
However, I'm not surprised to find out the problems entering the codes for other editions after the refund announcement.
I told the staff at Futureshop that it had happened. Thankfully all the boxes were removed from the shelves. Sadly the same can't be said of their online store. -
Quote:Sadly this is my view. I even tried it again this month. I guess I need a change from super-heroes.I have nothing against the CO community, and I appreciate their response, but I just don't like the game itself very much.
I will say that I liked the game better for the 2 weeks I tried it from the trial account (a friend bought a lifetime sub) with the 1 bonus week that it had as opposed to the F2P experience. Even though the character builds are more focused with the templates.
This I do agree with though. -

I just wanted to say thank you for everyone that is offering to help!

Quote:Here is what to do if you want to get a favor for a dying game from a NCsoft executive: forget it. They are one of the most unpleasant races in the Galaxy. Not actually evil, but bad-tempered, bureaucratic, officious and callous. They wouldn't even lift a finger to save their own grandmothers from the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal without orders signed in triplicate, sent in, sent back, queried, lost, found, subjected to public inquiry, lost again, and finally buried in soft peat for three months and recycled as firelighters. The best way to get a drink out of a NCsoft executive is to stick your finger down his throat, and the best way to irritate him is to feed his grandmother to the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal. On no account should you allow a NCsoft executive to sell you a game. It's just as likely that VIP status is nothing more than a flag on the account in question that could be flipped on for all accounts by any database admin worth his salt.
In other words, the poor working stiff at NCsoft Austin that could change the account wouldn't get approval until sometime next year. -
It is interesting to see who is at what stage of grief/loss.

Quote:New attempt schedule in this thread:I'm a bit late in the game here, but if this is still a need, I can bring my main to Triumph to assist. Dr. Turgenev, illusion/storm, +3 with all top shelf Incarnate powers. Let me know what you need, and if possible, please PM me with a reminder on when this is being scheduled. Thanks.

What we seem to be missing is High-End Damage/Debuff (from all reports Corruptors, as we only get 1-2 for a group of 20).
Quote:On 23 September, 2012, I will be running the 4th week of Really Hard Way badge attempts for Triumph server in a row. I will start the trial at 4pm Pacific/6pm Central, although I would appreciate it if all participants would please arrive 30 minutes early for invites and pre-run instructions. Quote:I am looking for Volunteers for this now, asking that you sign up for a space in the run early if possible. Cross server participants are more than welcome. Extra damage, corruptors, and kinetics will be definitely welcomed. Please keep in mind, that even if you do not care about this badge for yourself, major damage or -resistance abilities are still useful to those who do care about gaining it and a filled team will have a better chance of victory. -
I would like to share Vanden's request for a bit of help. In return, I'll do whatever I can to help out with other server's attempts.

Quote:User Interface upgrade. Patch note in question:Then...

Quote:Corporations are mostly protected from "calling the police".Sued? You don't sue people who steal from you. You call the police.
For those that are not getting full subscriptions, they have paid for access that the company is in the process of stopping.
For those that bought points, well you got the points and you can still spend those points. -
Quote:8-31-2005? That would be Issue 5. Global channels were available before that.I mean, it's back on ALL the screenies dating from 8-31-05 onward.
Did Globals go live that day? It wasn't my computer changing, because I'd lost a video card somewhere in there and gotten a new one, but these are a constant stream of shots and then BAM on that day all the info is now included. Did some back-end thing change about saving? -
Quote:Are you seriously telling me that if you went to, say, McDonalds and they offered you a McChicken meal with fries and softdrink, but they only gave you the burger that you wouldn't be demanding a refund of the undelivered food?Even if you guys get your refund on advanced time, hopefully you'll learn it's not always wise to pay that way for online entertainment. Because, technically, you got what you paid for and aren't entitled to anything in my eyes. Paying for a service before you get served (and isn't a reactive service) is like tipping your waiter as you walk into the restaurant.
They made an agreement: X amount of time for Y amount of dollars. Only now it is X is short and they want to keep Y. In the real world that would get you sued.
Quote:I wouldn't call college a service though, but paying for a concert, sporting event or access to some means of entertainment in advance does come with risks of service. Even still, those examples have their exceptions where one *must* pay fully in advance to access at all at some point...
Quote:But this is ONLINE entertainment we're talking about. What stipulation are you encountering that makes it more attractive to pay for online access in advance? Afraid there won't be enough room (which makes no sense)? That time will dry up?
They are a merchant.
They made an offer that was accepted.
They backed out of the offer before their commitment was fulfilled. -

Quote:Andy, at this point I'm not inclined to "waiting patiently". I'm inclined to report NCsoft to the Better Business Bureau and government regulators (both in Canada and the US).That looks very much to me like the "standard response" from customer service.
At this point I've not received any details regarding a refund process, what you can get a refund for or how to go about requesting one. As soon as they pass along those details, myself or whomever is left will definitely communicate that.
For now, I can't do anything but advise you to wait until NCsoft has communicated that information.
FWIW, I'm very sorry that they haven't communicated this information and have passed along your frustrations.
My subscription:- Hasn't been automatically cancelled, as per the announcement.
- Extends to 2013.

Quote:And some EULAs have been struck down as "not enforceable". This is a matter of breach of contract, and possibly fraud on NCsoft's part.Guys, the EULA you agreed to when adding paragon points or setting up a game subscription clearly states that there are no cash refunds.
It sucks, but legally, I don't think you'd have a leg to stand on with NCSoft.
Disclaimer: IANAL, I just read EULAs compulsively. -

Quote:You might want to tell whoever is listening that there are a lot of us with 6+ months of subscription on our account(s). What is happening with those accounts should have been a part of the closure announcement. I'm surprised that the legal department at NCsoft isn't having a hissy-fit over the way this has been botched. If they aren't, then they aren't doing their job(s).It's still technically 9/6 here in CA at least
.
As a heads up; We still do not have final details surrounding VIP status or the state of player services moving forward. As soon as NCsoft provides an update myself or another of the remaining team will update and hopefully answer any questions you may have.
Best,
-Z
Please note: I don't want a credit for another NCsoft game. I want my money back. In my eyes, NCsoft is in breach of the contract between them and myself. At this point, they owe me a refund of my remaining time or it does rise to the level of knowingly taking my money without intent to provide service.

Quote:Let me stop you right here. We don't have enough people with the "right" archetypes/powers to do as you suggest. This is the same advice we've been hearing since Issue 23 has launched with this badge. It remains as unhelpful as ever.Hey Omega
this is how i build the league and run TRHW and i hope it helps you guys
We have run TRHW on Union with 14 people so pls dont be afraid to go with lower numbers than 24
Get as much range damage and debuffers as you can. Its a fight between the leagues Damage output and Tyrants Regen. Get as much Psy and Sonic damage as you can and as much -res as you can.
Edit:
I'd be surprised if we get 1 kin, and for corruptors? Maybe 1-2 per group of 24. -
