Beyond Master of Magisterium: The Really Hard Way

Hello Triumph,

This past weekend, I ran the Really Hard Way Magisterium Badge trial for those interested. This upcoming weekend, I will do so again. It is my goal to be sure that no player leaves CoH for good with the ghosts of I could have done this, if I had that one last shot.

This will be our third week attempting this, both previous weeks have been successful insofar as obtaining the Hard Way badge, but we've been 'just' too low on the damage needed for the Really Hard Way. So I will be asking for people to bring massive damage this time, if possible. If not, bring your badger anyway, and we'll give it our best shot anyway.

Now, I am looking for Volunteers for this and any shared information someone cares to give now. Please keep in mind, even if you do not care about this badge for yourself, major damage or -resistance abilities are still useful to those who do care about gaining it, and a filled team will have a better chance..

The trial is intended to be started at 4pm PST/7pm EST on Sunday, September 16th 2012. Try to show a half hour early for instruction on what to expect and what procedures I will be asking for that go beyond what a normal magisterium entails.

The requirements for the badge are as follows:

Defeat Tyrant in the last phase/fight of Magisterium without defeating any of the Lights of the Well.

The lights of the Well can only be defeated by using the temp power: Quills of Jocas. They are one shot by this power, so I must be VERY clear to not use this power in your attack chain.

In order to win this trial, I am seeking several small things from my players. As I am very lenient, do not expect me to enforce all of them, but I do expect you to make an attempt to be ready. Remember, if for some reason, you cannot manage the recommend Incarnate Slots on time, having something is still better than having nothing.

1. Be a +3 lvl incarnate
2. Have a t4 Core branch Lore pet
3. Have either Assault or Support Hybrid
4. Have Ultimate Inspirations ready to use. The more the better.
5. Be prepared to listen and follow procedures outlined before and during the trial. I will be checking.
   
6. Expect the Tyrant fight to take the whole 20 minutes. Do not get nervous and jump the gun.

I have everything required on my Rad/Rad defender, Tetujin, but I just recently got my Sonic/Sonic corruptor Resonance Engine to +3 and if I can get him a t4 lore and an assault hybrid, I'll be bringing him instead. Either way, count me in.

I was there for the previous attempt, I'll be there again. I just might spend a billion or 2 on a respec to eek out a little extra power. What am I going to do with it otherwise?

I have to wait for my work schedule to update, but IF I'm really lucky and have that day off I will most certainly be there. I think the only thing PoS doesn't have is t4 lore. (t3 instead)

It appears the rumor is true, my VIP status didn't stop on Monday like it should. So I'm assuming I'll have my Incarnate powers for the duration. I'll be there again on Sunday with Flamesprite.

I'll be joining you guys as a transfer from Guardian. Character name is Princess Scarletta (should be able to get same name after transfer).

Melee toons save any range attacks/judgements for when they are backed away, so you keep up constant DPS on him. When you are ALL back in melee - SPAM those Destinies - Fulcrums - sb's - buffs Keep debuffs on him at all times. Corruptors Scourge is very useful particularly during the last few % of the fight - so build in as many as you can. Tyrant will regen - you will hit a couple of walls where you dont seem to be getting his HP down, pop those Ults and keep at it - There have been a couple of runs where we seem to be doing nothing for what seems like an eternity and its easy to think "meh we aint gonna do this" but we stuck at it and broke down the wall. I hope this helps I know different servers run it differently, but the above works for us on Union Good Luck
