Hmm...
I have a Fire/Rad and am considering respeccing in Hot Feet, and heres why.
Containment. Imps may be the damage power of choice post 32, but being a summon they get no benefit from it. HF on the other hand does. I would imagine slotted Choking Cloud and slotted Hot Feet could be quite a handy combo, not to mention our other holds.
I've avoided HF til now myself, but I've seen a lot of talk about it being awesome damage since Containment. Will go to test later to make sure though.

Choking Cloud AND Hot Feet?! You better have your personal Kinetics slave there -

On another note, wouldn't there be huge potential for RP in the PvP zones? I know it could be ruined by some, but choosing the least inhabited zone to use for it may help.

Can I role play ganker? Can I can I!? I'll even respec TPfoe in just for the occasion! -
I know I know. It's just how the things work in PvP. No matter what you do or how polite you are, if you win... someone will complain. It's always going to be like that and so i dont pay that much attention to it.
The sad part is that the complainers will use the same tactics themselves. I'v seen so many peeople from the forums who has complained about TPfoe and nasty tactics like that, using those too. I don't mind the complaining but the hypocrisy... thats sad. -

Gah, I predict a massive influx of posts like that.
The thing is, my tactic in a base raid WOULD be to destroy other stuff in the base rather than the people first. If they've got no power, how can they use their base defences? If they've got no control, how can they buy inspirations? If they've got no medibay, they'll have to either get a rez mid-fight, or run aaaall the way to a base portal from a hospital.
[/ QUOTE ]
if they've got no power, how do they have controland most of times the portals are near hosps
however, i expect alot of posts by people saying "could you guys be nice and at least keep the base in 1 piece? thank you". Though on the other hand I also expect people (the griefing kind) to just attack a base and destroy everything with or without really paying attention to the IoP, but thrash everything just to bug the other SG.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh don't get me wrong. I DO want the IoP but while I'm there I might as well mess around a bitAnd of course you are most welcome to do that to our base.
If you don't want nasty raids don't get IoP. It's simple as that. If someone decides to grief Insanity Inc and just destroys the base and forgets the IoP, I won't be the one whining why the hell they did it. We all know what we are signing in when we get one of those IoPs. PvP. -
Dont worry TG. I bet people start to hate you again once we raid few bases and I destroy absolutely EVERYTHING that has hitpoints in it. You get the blame and I get the fun
-
It is getting a bit confusing with all these TPs. I was doing some PvPing in warburg few days ago and I was zapping all over the place. Someone TPfoed me in and just when I was going to hit the bugger for daring to do that I got TPfoed to other mob and by the time my team realised it was me screaming in the TS I got TPfriended back to my team... phew... zap back to the first mob again... hehe.

While the last of your blood is still spraying from your mutilated body I smile and sing "I'm singing in the rain, I'm singing in the rain. What a glorious feeling im a happy again! Come on $target sing with me!"

It is the way of free capitalism. Little people get walked over. Big multinational corporates rule the market and have all the nice gadgets while the little ones wither and suffer in the shadows of the big ones.
Its a dog eat dog word out there. Individuality and personal preference wont get you anywhere. If you can't beat them... join them
Then again we could have the good old socialism where everybody (as we all know) flourish and get their fair share of the national recources. Where everyone smiles nicely under the sunny sky, bacause there is no room for envy in the great state of unification. -
How about implementing something like this. Lower the overall price of the base items and then make the items cost a bit more for larger SGs.
10 members: Item X = 10000 prestige
15 members: Item X = 12000 prestige
20 members: Item X = 14000 prestige
Not sure about the numbers but you get the basic idea.
That way smaller SG could keep up with the base building a bit easier and larger SGs still would have a advantage of SG members making more prestige and so getting stuff a bit faster.
Bad thing in this would be that you wouldnt want to keep all your alts in SG because it would make the items more expesive. But hey. Cant have it all
I think that the rate you are able to build base in largish SG is just fine. Base is not something you should be able to build in month or even two. Big fully functional base with all the nice gadgets should be something that you really have to work for. -

You wouldn't happen to work in customer service, would you?
[/ QUOTE ] Thank god no! I hate the customers. Dear god... Iv tried that couple of times but they always make me think murder. Now I'm happily locked in my little office box where I run several UNIX systems. I still have to contact customers every now and then but luckily i have read all the BOFH stories and I now know what to do with those annoying "users". Iv teached them to dread the moment when "that awfull man from the box" decides to give em a call. -

i will tp foe it out of your hands

Noooo! You griefer! :´( *runs to tell GM* -
Warburg seems a bit deserted now, but I think thats only because thers not that many high level villains yet. Lots of action in Bloody Bay though. I think those same people will be coming to Warburg as soon as they reach the right levels.

grieve ( P ) Pronunciation Key (grv)
v. grieved, griev·ing, grieves
v. tr.
To cause to be sorrowful; distress: It grieves me to see you in such pain.
To mourn or sorrow for: We grieved the death of our pastor.
Usage Problem. To file an official or formal grievance on account of (an actual or perceived injustice).
Archaic. To hurt or harm
Yup thats me. I don't kill you in PvP to cause you pleasure or happy fluffy feelings. When I kill you I take great pleasure of thinking how much pain and discomfort I'm causing you
Can you seriously claim that YOU don't have that little devil on your shoulder whispering how nice it would be to see that particular person dead over and over again or try that well known "cheat" just once to see how much fun it is? I mean everyone else is doing it... why can't I? Ooooh and it's so much fun when you succeed in it.
But then eventually comes the time where you on the receiving side of that mean trick and you start to think how unfair that trick is! This must surely be wrong! I must post it in the forums and make sure how awfull and terribly unbalanced the PvP is and how it is possible to use those kinds of "tactics"?
More than once I'v come across a person who first have became a victim of a nasty trick, then posted on the forums or shouted on broadcast how unfair everything is... but wait a second. Theres that person again and uh oh... hes using that same trick himself now. hmmm hehe so goes the human nature.
I think its PvP. EVERY nasty trick, tactic, power and so on is allowed within the limits of game mechanics.
Whats my point then? It's ok to point out the issues which might need some improvement or balancing but at the same time try to remember that theres never going to be real balance and people will keep using those dirty tricks in PvP and theres always some AT thats "overpowered".
I also think that theres always going to be "grievers" and you are willingly subjecting yourself to them when you enter PvP zone.
Dont expect "fair" game -
Basically just me. Rest of em just supplement me.
-
Aaahhh full team just for me to kill
I'll get those points faster than you can say "Oh shi.. It's Rain!"

Have to say dont really have an issue with TP foe working on players. However am failing to see the point of TP'ing someone into a group of monsters so that the monsters gank the player? Dont think this gets you rep/bounty, but it does get the "foe" xp debt from a monster kill. Sure we all know there are monsters out there and its part of the risk/fun of pvp in a live zone. However ran into a controller last night who was repeatedly hold people then TP'ing them into groups of mobs. What are other folks opinions?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you shouldn't run around in PvP zones without break frees or greens.
About tping in to mobs? I think anything that someone comes up in PvP zones should be considered natural hazard. So if he thinks its fun tping me in mobs, go ahead have fun thenI'll manage.
-
Invul(tanker)/Fire(blaster) and "Power Mastery" from defender epic. Sure invul is not as strong as granite but its strong enough to hold its own while you fire blast everyone to oblivion plus you get "conserve power" and "total focus" from epics.

Still the idea of "Standing still till you drop" eludes me. If I'm about to die, I will try to get away from the fight and heal myself. The idea after all is to get the other dude and not die in the process.
If on 1 vs 1 I'll just try to bounce around the map and heal myself a bit(you have your chance to hunt me down), but if I get ambushed by more than 2 players I might jump to the safe zone if I get the opportunity. Then again I might not as Spacemonkehh and some WS found out as they teleported me to the roof and tried to kill me... weeeel I just have to say that it didnt quite work out how they had planned it
I know that im not really losing anything by dying, but I just hate the idea and I don't want you to get those points off me -

The PvP zones have introductory missions, forcing you to go to them. Yes, you can turn around and leave, but you have to enter the zone. Once in the zone, you can be attacked and, as Q pointed out, you can be attacked without retribution in some cases.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you hit the spot there. Why do you think they have introductory missions? They differ from the normal areas. And when Hollows is "introductory" zone for PvE why shouldnt we have same with PvP. Makes sense really does it?
You wont get killed in blood bay even by gankers thats why ou have that PvP count down. More than enough time for click that contact and head back to PvE zones.
I do agree that Bloody Bay should have safe zones to prevent griefing but as people have already pointed out many times I too think that its design flaw and will be fixed at some point.
We are talking about two different things here. Having to go to some areas and some people abusing design flaws. I think the original post was of the first issue. -

I've said this before: none of my contacts in the 'mainland' have ever directed me to a contact in Croatoa. Why have I been sent to the PvP zones when I have no wish to go there? There's no need for it, obviously, since Croatoa is hardly unpopulated, so why is there a need to force-feed the PvP zones to everyone?
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean like Hollows? -
I'm not anti christmas person and I enjoy getting nice presents as every other person in here. I just dont like those christmas elfs... they make me sick!
I didn't buy a super hero game with stupid little christmas elfs running around and jumping on my head. It doesn't fit my image of heroish world. I did extensive research before I bought this game and found it to my liking and elf free... but what did they do!? They added Croatoa with those stupid little elfs with red hats!
Now I'm fully aware that I can choose not to go in that area but the mere knowledge that those little buggers with big smiles are there is haunting my every moment in CoH. I demand that I get a flag that can disable that area from me... or even better delete it alltogether! -
Damn those pesky union Heroes! I can't get to em!
-
TG patrollling? I'll make sure to kick hes butt and then I'm coming after you! Theres more than one kind of reputation you see... and since I'm a bit stupid I can't see any difference between good and bad. They all count towards the goal which is of course seeing you all dead hehe...

Also... Rain. Be great to go into the arena with you, I still need to work out my respec so need a good even battle to show the holes in my build, just hope its not like a sieve!

Sigh dont worry. I made two mistakes in my current buid (thats what you get when you dont bother to use test server) and now I have to wait another major change to get next free respec :/
I'm not going to tell you those mistakes thoughHopefully you will make the same ones... hehe.
