How many players does your SG have?

Information gathering that I hope will be some use to looking at whether base costs are out of proportion, how many alts, active primary players and secondary players does your SG have.

A primary player is someone who spends the greater proportion of their gaming time on an alt within the SG, a secondary player is someone who spends the bulk of their time on an alt that isn't part of the SG, but does occasionally play the alt in the SG.

Eight or nine at last count, all of which play semi regularly. Of course, each Horseman is the equal of two hundred lesser men (Or two thousand blasters) and so we are the biggest SG in the world. Statesman refuses to acknowledge this as we went to his house last week, egged and loorolled the place and threw kippers at his wife.

Uh huh two thousand blasters eh? You have probably been getting blasters to Arena straight from Outbreak to get to that conclusion. What comes to true blasters they will eat poor s...crapocalypse members for breakfast and wipe their smiling bloody faces with few unlucky tankers

The Other Ones.

Active players: 0

Which is to say: I have two alts in there which I play most of the time, but I do not collect Prestige anymore. It's a waste of time and energy.

Edit: You're onto a hiding to nothing with this Hiki. The only way these costs will be changed is if it's unbalanced considering the American SG figures. We don't count.

The Scoobys Elite

We have 24 of peoples mains in. (although some a couple are retired as they have hit 50). Some people have also gone to play CoV.

The No Scoobys

Loads cant be bothered to count but most are alts of people in the elites and some lower lvl toons that dont quite make the Elites criteria yet. Will guess at about 60 but a significant number of these havent been played for a while!

In Last Line Of Defence <Union> (and spillover SG ALOD) we currently have 41 Members and 66 Alts (38 members in main SG). We also have another 2 Themed SG's and a third spillover SG with probably another 20-30 alts in total, even with all these players COV game time is taking a big chunk out of our prestige earning potential :-(

we only have three players in our group, with 2 or 3 alts each. we play as friends who know each other outside of the game and all agree that we only want people we actually know in the group. This doesn't make us elite or snobbish, its just that we can solo or group play depending on time and inclination. It also means we can go for a beer or six and talk about bases, gameplay, moans and praises etc. To us the game is fun as we are friends in real life. If we opened it up to anyone who wanted to join it wouldn't be fair to that person as we socialise together and as is the way of all things that person would feel left out.
This makes us seriously disadvantaged when it comes to building bases. All of us play regularly and have a large amount of influence. If the prices were lower or the influence/prestige exchange rate were better then we wouldn't feel so hard done by. We don't want an all singing all dancing base with 60 members all quartered in luxurious apartments, but by the same token, one room with 4 armchairs is a bit pathetic and feeble.

Hehe, LLOD, there's a name I haven't seen for a while. We used to play PS with you guys from time to time although I don't know how many are still kicking around from then. We've been playing CoH on the US servers until quite recently, just moved over the the EU. I hadn't even realised you were playing it.

Is Avingord still kicking about at all? Please say hi from me if so.

indeed... we are only europeans ;p

maybe some math... along the lines of...

say 70 members=
15k x 20 = 300k

say each mission on malicious will give an average of 5k...

so 70 x 5k = 350k for each mish a full sg does...

say 1/4 of sg peeps play most of the time =

approximately 17 peeps playing at 5k per mish = 85k

so that a hell of a lot of missions with a full sg and a decent amount of 'full time' players to get a decent base eh...

p.s. Why not put this in an excel spreadsheet and send it to the devs as an updrage to thier current excel system

About right on the first numner, I'd say 30 regular players, several non alting players in the SG. Base is currently a 5 room affair and we're saving for a mission computer!

public enemy

rough guess

32 players in s g
10 main players
10 main players alts
12 player's sort of unknown , not on often

the base is about 100k of prestige from being a workin base

Honourable United here. We have about 55 members, but not that many are active. We have 22 registered on the boards, so I reckon that's about our "active member" count. Should really clean up .

Was thinking about this the other day again for some reason - probably because we just built a base.

OV has 17 active players currently, of those I'd say about 8 play very regularly (most days for a couple of hours), 5 play fairly regularly (3 or 4 times a week) and the rest are quite casual players.

Regarding prestige earning it's up and down. Our SG has a few teams at varying levels at the moment. Despite having a lot of high level toons in our SG we aren't that wealthy - we lost all our prestige when we transferred from the US - so if we spend a lot of time playing characters around level 35-47, we wont earn that much prestige because a lot of people will be out of SG mode at least part of the time. However when we play our level 50s a lot we really rake it in, the other week I happened to organise a few things at level 50 (pure coincidence of course, nothing to do with us being close to affording a functional base ), a respec, AV evenings, a TF which a good few exemped for, and we made about 500k in a week. That's not normal, the lower level characters don't come close to that, simply because they can't kill the same relative level of mobs with the same speed.

The last thing I want is to turn CoH in to hard work, I never want to get to the stage where we have a base that's a struggle to keep. Our base isn't that huge, but it's got some basic functionality, and it looks cool. That's about as much as I was going for at this stage.

Realisitically I think prestige earning could probably do with tweaking. You don't want a barely active very small SG to be able to have something with all the bells and whistles on inside 3 months, but at the same time a relatively active medium sized SG should be able to get a relatively fuctional medium sized base within a reasonably time frame in my opinion - say 3-6 months. I'd also like to see some more useful functionality in the bases. I wanted a SG base, because I wanted our group to have something that looks cool, but I'd be the first to admit it doesn't really have a massive amount of use barring the odd short cut and shortly some inspiration machines when I get my backside in gear and do the healing badges.

2nd in command of Ainur SG here
SG has about 70members , but maybe only 40 people actually play and average of about 30 online per day , maybe actually 15 people that are online nearly all the time. Got a raid ready base full 9 rooms/IOP stuff, and about 1mil prestige banked . Takin ages to save for a 12x12 plot :*( (3.3mil) /cry...

devastation has 75 active members

Aye we just got the 12 x 12 plot, saving now for the huge teleporter room.

5 People (with several alts each)

Our base has most of the room types, in the default tiny plot. Until yesterday most nights had at least 2 people online.

It's a functional base, saving for a bigger plot next, then bits for a raidable base.
