Stay and Fight or run away?

Well,do you run to safe zone or duke it out till the end?

Is it good etiquette to stay and fight or bad to run away like a girl?

I'm asking because I feel if I don't start running like a girl for the safe zone then my rep's never gonna go up..it just hovers round the 80 mark

Run like a girl and shoot em in the back when there not looking.

Depends on your mood. I like to duke it out most of the time.

But will run when it's obvious i'm getting pounded to a pulp!

I say stay and fight whatever.

But then I fully admit that my PvP ethos is in no way required in others. I will simply have more respect for people who stay even when they know they are going to lose. That said, I think running about is fine if you stay away from the safe zone- make them work for the kill.

Stay and fight till the end...u always learn other people tactics and u not get to think u are unbeatable even after racking up 800 rep points

Depends really...if I'm alone, and it's a team of 5+ attacking...I'll probably run. If not, I'll stick it out.

Still the idea of "Standing still till you drop" eludes me. If I'm about to die, I will try to get away from the fight and heal myself. The idea after all is to get the other dude and not die in the process.

If on 1 vs 1 I'll just try to bounce around the map and heal myself a bit(you have your chance to hunt me down), but if I get ambushed by more than 2 players I might jump to the safe zone if I get the opportunity. Then again I might not as Spacemonkehh and some WS found out as they teleported me to the roof and tried to kill me... weeeel I just have to say that it didnt quite work out how they had planned it

I know that im not really losing anything by dying, but I just hate the idea and I don't want you to get those points off me

Just a note, yesterday evening I had a realy good fight at the Gate of the Villi base in Bloody Bay, I was standing there fighting a good 5 minutes before I got a little to close to the Drones. That said, I always stay and fight as DB, but I let the fighting do for me by my minions as my MM. And run If they get to close.
Even when faced with some dept I dont realy mind as I'm not realy keen on hitting the max lvl.

Although.... I realy want to try out a Kelhdian .

Run around yes, run to the safe zone, no

But then again, Im a tank

Its perfectly ok to keep running to safe zone in my opinion though, thats what Im saying. It will just make me call you chicken

Well, I just chased some villain from by one of the meteorites in Bloody Bay, out to the edge of the Arachnos base (he was running, as you'd expect from a villain *grin*), and ended up punching it out with him, a legion of zombies and the Arachnos defences shooting at me.

But heck, I'd chased him there, so I was hardly going to turn tail and run... I ended up in the hospital, but it was more fun than running :-)

Depends - opponent low on health, you low on health slug it out ot the bitter end. You low on health, they high on health - better part of valour!

Shhhh! I didn't want anyone to know that I was caught under Slow, Confusion and Immobilised at times too!

Uh, heroic, yeah! Not just stuck in one place and unable to run away ;-)

Depends who I am playing and why they are there in the zone.

If its my blaster then usualy I'll tp to safe distance and attack them if they carry on harrasing me,otherwise I ignore the Vs and concentrate on either completeing my mission objectives or aiding people if they need an emergency tp out of trouble, or hunt down the various nasties that lurk around causingtrouble for innocents.
(Heh I got dropped by a V, when I thought she/he was being attacked by undead/critter things, I attacked them and then the minions and the V smashed me down...was very funny )

My defender runs, unless he knows he stands little chance of escaping in which case he digs and trys to hurt the enemy as much as possible.

I dont see any problem with running, or lurking. No person would needlesly court pain in real life so my chats would not in-game.

When fighting as my heroes, I never run from a fight! ^^

As a villain, well, my mastermind turns tail at the first signs of being foiled. ^^

Definately agreed. I dont mind getting owned, so long as the fight was a good show, or remotely even. If im facing a fight that I dont stand a chance of winning, I make it clear that im not interested, and make a quick exit. All I can say is that people should pick their fights carefully, even if you were the one who was attacked. At the same time, dont grief someone if they're a solo dominator/controller, and you run at them with three damage-dealers.

PVP might be competetive and heated, but its in the name of fun, being a jerk is optional. Hit and run tactics are a good way of fighting too, but I cant stand it when someone finds a weaker opponent, and makes it their business to only fight that one person, in a hope of upping their rep. Ruining someone elses fun by farming them for stat gains is just lame, im sorry but it is.

I personally dont mind if a team/character makes a tactical retreat to attempt to heal, or wait for a power to recharge, provided they dont go cowering back into their safezones. At the same time, people shouldnt complain about people 'being chicken' when they go back inside their safe zones, when they are sat there CAMPING the enemy safe zones border.

I hate to say it, but most of the problems with PVP and PVP ethics can be solved with a base level of sportsmanship and intelligence. Unfortunately, the online masses dont have either of those things, that is why there has been such an outburst of people who have been getting unnecessary debt, by being TP Foe'ed into NPC crowds, when at red health.

At the end of the day, mistakes happen. An enemy can have the full intention of finishing you off, but by bad luck, an NPC enemy might beat them to it, maybe partially because of an unlucky escape manuever that landed you next to a random mob. Sometimes, the enemy didnt mean to give you debt, although sometimes the entire aim of them engaging you in the fight was to try and get you into debt, for kicks.

The devs cannot enforce ethics, they can only balance and tweak. The sooner they sort out the debt-griefers, and work out the overpowered exemped hero/villain deal, the less tense the zones will feel. I personally will continue to play for fun, even if I do get a little serious at times. And you know what? I'll probably lose a lot more than most due to my own PVP morals, and you know what? I dont care! :3

Well, I dont care, provided I dont end up getting more debt by accident..
*shakes fist*
Other than that? If someone has me down to red health and I honestly dont see a way of escape or making a come-back? Just take the damned defeat, get back from the hospital quickly, and exact your revenge! If someone has earned it, let them have it (both the kill and the revenge as a result)

Well I've had 2 of my best experiences in Bloody Bay recently... as a Ninja MM collecting the Meteorites I got nailed by an Ice Blaster - didn't bother trying to respond as I was mid-flight and was on a mission just tried to escape.

Next I was polishing off some bad guys and a Blaster hovers close.. So are you going to do it punk or what? Then I Fireball hits me - I send the Ninjas in while I deal with the monsters I was battling before the interuption.. keep out of Blasters sight while my Ninjas pound him to the floor... last time he'll pick on me !!

Then last night at the same spot a Scrapper does exactly the same thing I was just about holding my own when 2 villains come out of nowhere and nail the sucka! Eat that Hero scumbag!!

I love PvP - great fun.
