OK guys'n'gals I'm sorry for lack of progress on this but this past week and a half have been very hectic for me in RL(poorly daughter,busy workload and a wife who has been nabbing the PC to get her software realeases out on time).Combined with the fact that a couple of players I was relying on can't now make the 22nd has left me in limbo a bit To be more specific PA team leader can't show up and as I was relying on him to sort his team out you can see the pickle I'm in.

So I need volunteers for the PA team.

Jiaozy has volunteered to lead the PA team but again we need players to join him.

Jersey will hopefully be the targetter,if not can you do it again Electro Mag?

Organising a Hami raid is no easy thing,imo,and I really apologise for me not being very good at it.I just haven't had the time to get things done as I wanted too.

The plan is done and I will let each leader know tomorrow.I'm gonna work my socks off from now to get this back on track as I realy want this to work,so bear with me guys

I would never drop hasten or stamina even with ED they are still extremely usefull powers.

My I5 build still works wonders in I6 and as such I ain't respec'd yet.

Doulos if you could I'd rather you slotted 6 Hold Durations instead of recharges,just for raid.With all the buffs people get there is no need for recharges and the extra 15% may be what gets a hold on Hami,same goes for damage if you can,the extra 15% will make a difference on mobs with a stupidly high hit points.

I have a Hamidon raid organised for thurs 22nd dec and I'm trying to get every last 45+ Controller to turn up

So if your free on the night of the 22nd then pop along to Hive for some fun and who knows we may even be one of the 1st servers to bring Hami down

Hey guys,a 7pm start for me is a no no unfortunately,I may be able to make 7.30pm but being a dad hinders my start time.Failing that if it is apparent that most would prefer a 7pm start then someone else would have to take control till 8pm.

With regards to jet pack I would hope only those Heroes without flight or hover or even SJ would use it.But again if everyones follows the rules for no aura's and basic costumes then I can't see it grinding the server to a halt.

For plan B I'm thinking of the withdrawl from the jelly and leaving just the hami tank team and a crack blaster team with Defender support tactic only have everyone on the Blaster team and a few more people if we can have the Warburg Rad temp power.If we can get enough of these then we may be able to debuff him enough so the blasters can take him below 50% and keep him below while the rest moves back in.Needs a bit more planning but this tactic has been niggling away for ages now and I truly beleive it could work,wether having loads of rockets going off would lag the server to bits is another thing,.maybe try and get some system for launching them in a staggered fashion?

Ok the date has been set for Thursday 22nd December at 8.00pm

I must apologise for the lack of info prior to this announcement but I've slowly talking to various peeps who don't read these boards and I'm glad to say I've about 15 controllers who don't read these forums say they'll turn up.So with the number of forumite controllers we may have enough,I'm hoping to get at least 35

Ok onto the plan...well I'm going to stick to with tried and trusted holding stratergy with,hopefully,a few new additions to try and make it easier(I'll post these when I've finalised them).

So here's the basic plan for the night:[*]Heroes gather outside the Hive from 7.30pm and sort yourselves into teams[*]The Hami Tank team and PA team move in the Hive 1st at 8.00pm[*]The rest of the Heroes move in once the Hami tank and PA team are in position[*]The Heroes form a turtle and the Mito clearing phase begins[*]Once all Mito's are cleared all Heroes will retreat to Cowards Hill and the Holding phase will begin [*]If holding Hami is succesfull we beat up Hami,if not we move onto plan B[*]Plan B will be announced in a couple of days,there is a couple of things we could try and I'm just trying to work out which one is most viable and trouble free in terms of organising[*]If we manage to take Hami down then the Hami buds spawn,we take care of them and job's a good un

Now that is how it should go but in my experiance it wont go anywhere near as smooth as that,there are however a few thing we can do to make sure it goes ahead as smoothly as possible

[*]Costumes and Aura's

I think most of us know what the crack is concerning costumes and aura's.It makes like so much easier if players actually come in the right costume with no aura's repeat NO AURA'S.For those not in the know check out Jiaozy's Hamidon costume guide
[*]Shields and toggles

Any shields or toggles that give defense bonus or resistance are useless on Hamidon raids and I therefore ask anybody who has such shields not to use them at all.This is primarily aimed at Tanks and Scrappers but also anyone else with an epic shield too.No Sheilds please
[*]Slotting of powers

Ok this one has divided most players I've spoken too but I would appreciate it if everyone who has a hold slot as many hold enhancements as possible..no recharge enhancements pls.The same goes for damage,slot as many damage enhancements as possible please.
I would rather everyone was getting a 105% bonus to their attacks and holds than a 90% bonus and who knows it may prove key in holding Hamidon
[*]The Turtle

For the vast majority of players attending this is where you'll be and if you follow a few simple steps this can go very,very easy indeed.Once the turtle starts to clear the Mito's the easiest way is for everyone to have the official targetter on thier friends list(/friend xxxx)and just follow the targetter,once your following him you'll automatically target thru him too.This means the Turtle will move as one group and will only target whatever the Targetter has targetted.
[*]Chat channels

Plaese,please refrain from using REQUEST chat whilst the raid is ongoing.This channel is reserved for the raid leaders to convey instructions.Also remember to actually add the REQUEST channel to your usual chat tab,ther were some players in the last raid who didn't hear a word during the raid and thus had no idea what was going on,so make sure you have request open in some form or another please
If you have any questions during the raid please ask your team leader,if he doesn't know the answer then try local but plaese leave request alone for the reasons already stated.

Ok thats the basics,I will post more details in the comming days so keep checking this post


I also need raid leaders and volunteers for the Hami tank team and PA drop team,so if you could PM me if your interested that would be great.I have some people already said they would but they would be 1st timers and I'd really like to get some old hands leading the the above teams.

Messing about with the jet pack didn't help me on one or two occasions but overall had a great time and we should deffo do this more often

@ Double,I see your point about the keeping it secret but I'm not overly worried about that as I really only wanted people to post who I didn't know about.I have many friends in CoH who I have spoken too and can rely on to turn up..so no worries there really

Like Question has stated I wanted to try and have a go at Hami with the least Heroes needed to reduce lag.This not only makes things much much easier but also brings some enjoyment back into doing Hami

Now tho and more importantly the plan. Lots of differing views here about which is the best course of action and what we need.Lets make this a joint effort from now on eh and try and come up with good alternative to the holdin Hami tactic?And how about making public the date?A week before xmas?

I like the use of temp powers idea and I reckon if used in conjunction with lots of debuffers could be viable.Infact aslong we get a good turn out of good players and not tools then really any tactic can be tried once we're in.If we're organised enough then we shuld be able to change tactics on the fly.

And remember all previous tactics were dreamed up by someone at 1st so we shouldn't be too scared of trying something completely different,you never know it could make you famous

Surely then if this is the case then it makes that tactic a more viable proposition?

Once the mito clearing is done everyone just whacks Hami untill he gets close to 50% then just gradually reduce the number of heroes attacking till we have just enough to beat his regen rate.Once he spawns his mitos everyone else goes back in to clear the mitos.A well prepared and organised turtle wouldn't take too long in taking out the spawned mitos really.

Does anyone know tho if when Hami has spawned the mitos he will respawn staight away if he goes above 50% and then reduced to below 50%?That is something I haven't been able to find out.

But I like the tried and trusted method too but we need at least 30+ trollers who have all the their holds slotted for hold duration and unfortunately all the early 50 trollers aren't about as much as we'd like

Maybe we should scrap my 1st Hami Raid thread and start a new one but only go ahead if we get 30 trollers signd up,what you reckon?

Lots of good ideas guys and I apologise for not entering in the debate till now.

I have been reading a lot of Hami stuff and talking to my mate who plays on the US servers and it appears that we will need 35+ trollers with holds slotted for hold duration only.I feel if we can get 35 trollers then we should have a chance of holding him.I've just looked at the level 50 list of Union toons and it lists 30 trollers there so I reckon Union must have least 40 trollers who've hit 50,wether they still play tho is another matter.

If we can't get the required amount of trollers then I suggest we completely forget about trying to hold him and instead try brute force and resistance de-buffs.My plan would be something like this:
We will need a Hami tank group,PA group,Blaster squad of 16 and 2 Turtle groups(for want of a better word).
The raid will start as normal and follow normal tactics for clearing the mitos.Once that is done everyone moves onto Hami and just attack and debuff.Once he gets to just above 50% everyone except Hami tank and blaster squad leaves the goo to a safe spot(cowards hill should be far enough away).The blaster squad then moves as far away from the hami tank as possible and keeps attacking Hami till he spawns the Mitos.Once spawned,1 turtle moves in and continues to attack Hami while the other takes care of the Mitos.Rinse and repeat for the other spawns.

Now this is a basic plan and requires a lot of co-ordination and a bit of fine tuning but I think if done correctly then we can do it.Plus I don't think it will take that long if a few basics are adhered to like adding the official targetter to your friends list and just following him/her and targetting thru him/her can make the mito phases much easier and quicker.Also getting people not to use the Request channel far any reason,it should be left for the raid leaders to use.

On a final note can I just say that I wasn't having a go at the leaders of the last raid when I was on about the holding phase not lasting long enough.You guys did a marvellous job it was just all the tools who spoilt it.I mean half way thru the holding phase everyone on Cowards Hill,led by a stone tank iirc,cam charging down and stared to whack him.This went on for about 15-20 mins till order was restored but being on the ground I could still see players attacking him long after.I want to try the raid my way(by keeping date secret etc)to try and avoid getting all these idiots in.

*Edit* the people I regard as idiots are in all probability not idiots but rather players who haven't a clue about what is expected in a Hami raid and also that raiding Hamidon is not the most exciting thing to do in CoH and requires huge amounts of patience and self contoll
