1) Human Form (both PB and WS) should have 1.0 melee/ranged damage modifiers;
2) Starting Passive (both) has 4 MAG protection to hold, sleep, disorient only;
3) PBs get Air Superiority and their KBs changed to KD.
[/ QUOTE ]
1) Agreed, but then I'm not so good on balance issues
2) Disagree. I still believe it messes with the flavor of the ATs in my opinion
3) Partially agree. Only Solar Flare should be hanged to KD as the others just lend themselves to much to thrusting away in a KB fashion. And Khelds to get Air Superiority only if WS get it opened too as well as the Pool, or gain access to Team Teleport. -

I don't understand... There's no justification for wanting to be able to spam Fire Cages (15.6 end) and PSW (18.51 end). Those two combined will take up about 1/3 of your endurance bar in one cycle. That's whats taking up the chunk of your endurance, not the subtle increase (1-3 points) in your regular attacks. Am I missing something?

No I was saying I used to do that pre i15 to nearly burn out which I agree was excessive but would do for the fun of it. Now I'm playing much more frugal but notice nearly the same, actually somwhat worse, burn then when I was being piggish about it before i15.
I'm not saying i want to go back to the way it was before, just I figured if I did in fact ease up a lot, have all the stuff I do, and find myself popping just as many blues and requiring Domination for End, it seems odd to me is all. I wonder what would happen if I didn't have as many Set's that offered +End & +Rec is all. -
For my experience, I'm still achieving the things I did before with my Fire/Psi, albiet a fraction slower and more monitoring of my End. I think they dialed up the End cost a bit too much, but as it's been said over and over to me that's the proper balance along with upping Recharge, to gain more damage. It's just as I've said in another thread, i feel weird having 3 End Recovery powers, IO Recovery Sets, and Slotting for End Reduction, to now need to be Permadom to recover end because of the burn.
-
I'm not so sure it's not problematic. As a person who's tried all of the ATs to a high level and played long enough to know which enemies to hit in a mob first, to me this isn't a problem. I know how to slot right, what powers to get etc. But then, this change didn't have folks like me in mind. I'm saying I almost have End issues but it's because I know what Im doing that it doesn't catch me. I just hope overall these changes don't necessitate a character to have to IO just to keep it fun. To have 3 End Recovery powers, slot for End Red, IO Sets and still need Domination to come up so you don't crash seems odd to me is all.
Again I digress and will keep my hole shut up till I get the chance to play my other Doms. -

It is self fulfilling prophecy. The idea that they have end issues has gotten out and now people expect to have end issues. And they do.
[/ QUOTE ]
Skewed way to mention that. I have end issues now, because I do in fact have them. It's not perception. As i've said repeatedly in terms of Psy Assault, i have 1 End slotted towards each Control And Attack power, Drain Psyche, Power Sink and Stamina and my IO Sets while having +Rech also carry a lot of +Rec and +End. While playing a modified version of the way I used to, meaning spamming less PSW and Fire Cages to lessen End burn I'm noticing a harder End bite then previous. Now I got it, balance reasons and all there should be more and I agree, I just thinks that it's a tad too much is all.
Not saying I can't live with it, hardly, it's just before I was pigish using powers. Knowing that it's not the same with the new issue I started to modify my usual haphazard way, meaning less use of AoE Imm and such, and noticed that I needed to rely on Domination to recover End, even though I have more then enough powers, slotting and sets to compensate.
So to reiterate, I do see and feel a bit of a problem in high end play in terms of Psi Assault. It's not imagined. I can deal since I play a Permadom, but most out there don't. I hope the End thing isn't a standard through the other Power sets but I'll see for myself on the weekend. -
So I guess they haven't fixed it yet. Sigh...
-
Ok true, we both have a lot of End mitigation and the fact I didn't burn out while carefully using my AoE because of the Domination click helps but I'm saying that as an experienced player who slotted themselves out well, pickedthe right powers and used them all at a correct time and ratio was veteran of me, but ths change wasn't made for me but rather other newer players to attract a greater audience. So I'm saying all my advantages and I felt a bite. I figure even with my Hasten and +Rech as a detraction to End gain, all my plus's would handle that.
The other ATs that have End issues such as Brutes, Scraps and Tanks have just as many tools for End recovery but their also tougher so thy have the option to slow attacks. Comparing a Dominator to a Blaster is better but those guys have even greater damage, just that little bit more to finish off the enemies that we as Dominators would need that extra lil attack to equal. Mez help of course but that's more End.
I will say though again, I haven't played these changes on a lowbie yet, i will. It just suprised me that I was having to monitor a character that I built for +Endurance and +Recovery, took all the powers that helped End, and slotted 1 End Reduction in almost each power to now need to rely on Domination to handle End issues. So that's where my amusement is stemming from. Before I needed Permadom to get the Damage, but now I have the Damage but need it to keep my End, as well as still needing +Recharge to keep my Drain Psyche and Power Sink coming up. This might just be effecting high level play is all, but since I worked for the goal of getting to 50 and enjoy playing at that state it just seems a bit strange is all.
Hey, if it helps people enjoy the AT more, more power to folks. As i said for me it's not a nerf, but at high levels it doesn't seem like quite a buff either if my other higher Alts will require IO's to keep Blue'd. -
I think you got used to PSW and haven't spec'd the other powers yet to i15 or gotten used to it. I can still do all the craziness i was able to do before, it just takes a bit longer is all. That was going to happen.
-
Sigh...you folks all thinking in the same vein. Your right, my ST damage is much better. PSW not so much, Psychic Scream better but I have to take a bit extra time lining things up now to benifit and since PSw is slower to recharge and not affecting the area it used to then overall I am killng mobs slower.
So taking slower recharges to necessary powers and extra time to line up mobs, I am not doing the DPS I think it's called that I used to. Or just not killing as fast because ai can't pump out the damage I used to be able to.
That's not a complaint. That's fact, and again I reiterate I have no problems with them balancing out PSW. My concern is End burn. -
Heh, I meant next to the way PSW was. I used to practically soley rely on it. Don't get me wrong, I know it was broken and don't have a problem with it's fix, I just meant overall I do slightly less against te mobs then I used to.

Uhh Dahjee, if you noticed what I was saying you'd realize that this 'silly' complainer of end usuage was talking about a Build that was slotted with End Reduction Sets and Bonus's, has Drain Psyche, Power Sink, and Stamina (granted only 1 Slot in it) and Permadom and was still noticing an End bite. Not to mention I slowed down on my AoE attacks and Holds just to mitigate it. It was because od Domination that I didn't burn out.
Yes I know Fire/- is an End intensive primary, but still i think i did just as you say and built a bit more carefully and played a bit differently and still felt the End cost be just a bit excessive. So please before you insult me and others by calling us 'silly' listen to what's being said. Your right, other ATs don't have an End giving click but that's supposed to be a bonus, not a factor to justify penalizing other powers to the point it negates the original benifit. -
Hmm...my experience with the changes at high levels hasn't been so glowing. My favorite one is a permadom Fire/Psi. The changes have left me slower, but i expected that, the damage not as good, again expected that and have no problem going along with those two for balance sake, but then End burn I really dislike. With being slotted for End Reduction, Power Sink, Drain Psyche, a 1 slotted Stamina and Permadom I feel an End bite. I don't believe i should be, not with this much to mitigate it. An no I wasn't spamming AoE attacks & holds, on the contrary I was limiting those just so I won't burn out. This was fighting against the Mobs at the Cim Wall so I found that strange. I think End costs are just a touch out of hand, but then that's just my opinion.
-
Neither myself nor my friends believed Dominators to be weak or suffering before i15, but then most of their experiences have been on teams. Only myself and one other solo quite a bit on our Doms and our opnions were that they were fine, but we weren't exactly new players so leveling for us in the early levels wan't any more painful to us then having to level any other lowbie Alts.
Today I came on to respec my Fire/Psi farmer and play through the changes. Due to time contraints I was only able to try the initial changes on Test and nit any subsequent patches so today was the first real go at it. I oringinally had Assault and Tactics running along with Hot Feet and Charged Armor. I got rid of the Leadership pool since I knew End was going to be an issue, and picked up an extra Psi attack and Ball Lightning . I took Ball Lightning now because I knew Psi Shockwave wasn't going to Recharge as quickly, which back then was the only AoE I really needed, so now it could fill in. I went to farm the Cim wall.
The goig was slower, not too bad but definitly slower then I'm used to. I can accept that since again i was aware of the changes. What I wasn't a fan of is the End burn as well as the slower overall feel. I have Stamina (granted only 1 slotted), Drain Psyche, Power Sink and Permadom and before only if I got ridiculous would i suck on End. Now I have to activly watch it. Not a big issue for this one character, he's slotted up well, but if i got all this and I'm seeing signs of end issues, I can only imagine what a non optimum build must experience. For that i will run my lv 25 Earth/Fire Dom this week and see.
Counseling newbies to not see these changes as a nerf? I don't know, I'm not saying one way or another that it is or not, but I can't quite field questions about it when i don't fully support thiese specific changes. I liked my Doms before, I didn't find it hard leveling early on pre i15. I could get behind the Domination change itself but it just seems like one old problem is replaced with a new one. Maybe it took longer to beat enemies before at low levels but I had End and attacks to spare, now I wipe enemies away faster but have to wait on the sidelines to recover a bit or make sure to have plenty of Blues on hand. Feels almost like the same to me.
But again, i haven't given it a thorough lowbie run through as of yet. Just I didn't have problems before with my lowbies, and now I feel sluggish with a favored Alt of mine. So just what the he'll am I supposed to counsel to newbies then? -
I have a Purpled out PB I play to further IO tweak, gain badges, prestige etc. I also have a Crab that I do similar with. These are the two I play at 50 purely for enjoyment. I have other 50s, but most serve a purpose and get little play otherwise.
-
I have to agree with the lower level blues crew. I mean I can barely stand it slogging through the below 20's. It's like a punishment for the fun to come. I find myself often starting a new Alt, playing a bit, getting frustrated then switching to my fun higher ups. Often I just wait until a friend comes on and sidekick my lowbies. It's still a slog, but its a bit faster and I still enjoy the upper level mobs with more features then a bat swing or revolver.

Is life perfect? Are we humans beyond error? How come sometimes when I eat at Subways the food is great but when I repeat under the same conditions (same place, same server, same time) it's just missing something. Why is my train sometimes late even though there is a schedual?
Look I'm not saying these bugs shouldn't be fixed, far from it, but I don't want new stuff being witheld to fix things that are proving tricky and/or time consuming. If it cam be fixed, great, if it needs time ok. I don't thing the guys at the Studio are sitting around enjoying the annoyance the bugs elicit and laughing to themselves. They know it exists and will get to them. Case in point, Psychic Shockwave, bugged since i6. Heh heh wonderfully bugged but now finally being fixed, to mines and others consternation. -
No, I kind of think I understand. Out the box most heroes in comics have all their powers, they just refine them over time. Cyclops hasn't changed much along with all the other X-Men excluding Ice Man, Psylock and Angel (who reverted)
Superman is a case of CoX type power. When first introduced he couldn't fly. I don't believe he had super breath and possibly a few others like heat vision and x Ray vision but I can't recall.
Basically you wish you can have all your powers from go, then refine them with tricks as you level? Sort of like Hulk always having super strength but as he progresses he might learn to clap his hands together and create that knockback effect he does.
If that's what you mean, I'm with you but then I don't think it's feasible for video game play. I mean starting out with all 24 powers would be cool, but then where is the grind that all games require? What their to look forward to other then a possible trick, and how many could you come up with for a set of powers that wouldn't just mirror what we got now only you begin with more.
The way I see it, and don't get me wrong I don't like it but I deal, is that were not true and proper heroes or villains until we hit 50. Before 50 is our sidekick slash backstory days, where we first get our powers and do minor things. Think Batman Year One, Smallvilles Superman etc. I know it's a bad perception but again it's just one of the things you have to accept with story to game translations -
Swan in Brickstown. Look at her...I'm a guy after all.
Red side it's Arbiter...Really who cares. I hate having to train using an Arachnos person, but then I'd hate having to train under any other villain. Shame they couldn't have put some other means to level that wouldn't require you to yet again humble yourself. -
I'm a PB supporter. Love the WS and my faux controls, but PB is the best of worlds for me really. I do wish though as are only kind of unique power, Photon Seekers worked better.

Funny I like the sounds and FX. But it would be a godsend to give some originality to some of them. I'd play around a bit with my main, see what colors go well but most likely I'll keep as is. I have a Warshade I've styles as an Eclipse of the sun, so I'd be curious to see what I can try on that. Then there is my lovely experiment, a Human non-WS (in my mind) who is a doorway between here and the netherworld, well her I'd love to try something entirely different, but she's got no Forms.
I just hope that even if they don't let us change the colors of the Forms they allow us to do the human only powers. I have a sneaky suspicion Khelds as being a story driven Epic AT we won't even get a choice in the matter. -
No real stratergy for me besides watching the LF Icon. I generally don't run since I have too much pride but won't deny doing that occasionally. I make sure to carry one blue with me. If the fight is too much I pop it, use Conserve Energy, then use Quantum Flight for a get away. If it's a fight I'm sure I can handle, I pop it, hit Conserve Energy and then turn to Dwarf Form and use Flare to knockdown (hopefully) foes and only Flare, until I see end recovering. Sometimes I just hit Dwarf Form and ride it out without blues, powers or attacks, but only against weaker foes and that is succesful only half the time.
That's Solo. I'm sure it need not be said but just in case for newer players when your in a team and playing Any AT that has a crash power, inform the team it's happening (if you can) and stay. A lot of teamates can help with Buffs and/or inspires but too many players have this flee mentality that causes them to run and die somewhere off yonder. I say this as both the Crashee and with some Alts the teamate who has a buff click waiting to fire. I've seen more team wipes due to such panic then most other reasons at the higher levels. -
Is a Hami Raid being held this week?
-
Favorite Hero: Hmm, never actually gave it any thought since I'm to busy focused on my own Alts. I'd say maybe Ms Liberty maybe, but even that is a struggle. She's the only one i find sort of compelling without being to complicated.
Favorite Villain: Maybe it's because i tend to like villains more that this is easier but i actually think their backgrounds are superior. Ghost Widow for a variety of reasons. Powers, backstory and appearance really work well. After her I'd say Arbiter Sands. I find his non chalance amusing. -
Like folks are saying, any of the KB IO's, particularly Steadfast and Blessing of Zephyr. As for Sets, really a plan is in order. For my Tri-Form PB I wanted +Recharge, +Recovery, +End, +Damage with all else being gravy. Kheld powers recharge slow, so slotting for that is almost universal. Human attacks are End heavy, so again pretty standard. But again you might want a build that focuses on other things, perhaps Defense, so it's all up to your vision of things.

I remember when I first made a PB. I was about level 15, and got invited to a team. It was another PB making an all-Kheld team. It was me, a couple PBs, and a couple warshades.
It was not fun. Having so few slots in powers that early on, and no buffs from teammates, along with more voids and quantums, made for a lot of faceplants.
[/ QUOTE ]
That may have changed post I13. Q&V don't quite as much damage as they used to and Khelds do more now. But I've found the best all Kheld teaming happens after 20 anyways, when the possibility of all 3 Forms comes into play.
