Alright guys I have a little question, I'm busy working on my PB and shes hit 39 going on 40 very soon. Now my question is could anyone recommend a few sets of IO's that are good to invest in being a PB? I'm really looking for set bonuses as well.

Really that depends on your purpose. I'm not a fan of buying IO sets with no purpose. I see alot of purpled out toons on the boards, that really provide no overall purpose IMO.

The Steadfast Protection and Karma -KB are really godsends for PBs and lots of others as well.

Other than that, I agree that we need to know more about your build, your playstyle and your goals to make a decent recommendation.

Well as I figure out how to upload my build, my playstyle is I'm more of a solo'r. I want to be able to handle at least some Bosses or EB's. I tend to tank at times but I can keep it ranged if needed.

At level 42 I'm packing five full sets of Thunderstrike in my ST blasts, four sets of Positrons Blast (5 pieces each) in my AoEs and 3 sets of Aegis in the Shields, and a -KB proc in Absorption (? the passive tier 1 shield).

That gives me:

+20% Recovery
+71% Accuracy
+19% Recharge
+20% all movement speeds
+18.75% Ranged/Energy/Neg Defence
+14% AoE/Fire/Cold Defence

My next move is to swap the -KB in Absorption for a Steadfast Unique for +3% extra Def, and three slot Combat Flight with Blessing of the Zephyr for an extra 3.125% vs Aoe and Ranged, and get my KB protection there.

The downside is my dwarf powers and heals are totally unslotted. The above is pretty much all I have, and I dont have either melee attack yet. Its primarily a Human/Nova Blaster-ish build.

If I could only buy one single IO for either my PB or WS it would the Steadfast -KB. As others have said, everything else depends on what you're shooting for, but generally speaking +recharge is always good and +recovery is nice to have for the forms. You also don't necessarily need to focus on set bonuses. Franken-slotting can really help you get the most out of every slot, allowing you to 3 or 4 slot some things you might otherwise 5-6 slot, freeing those up for other powers.

Like folks are saying, any of the KB IO's, particularly Steadfast and Blessing of Zephyr. As for Sets, really a plan is in order. For my Tri-Form PB I wanted +Recharge, +Recovery, +End, +Damage with all else being gravy. Kheld powers recharge slow, so slotting for that is almost universal. Human attacks are End heavy, so again pretty standard. But again you might want a build that focuses on other things, perhaps Defense, so it's all up to your vision of things.

Human PB's have to spend alot of time in Melee. One of the -KB IOs, such as in Blessing of the Zephyr, to keep you from constantly getting knocked on you A$$, will work wonders
