Chain Induction also no longer runs the chance of hitting a teammate when jumping from a confused Mob.

Then what you are saying is that everyone who is on a lowbie toon should have to wait until they are high enough for, oh, say, Steel Canyon before they can take part in invasions? Hey, don't worry if you aren't high enough level for the Halloween events, you can just wait a whole year, or hope you're in the right place when a random one is triggered!
[/ QUOTE ]
Why would a lowbie need to level up to participate? The event uses the level less code and turns off debt and non-event related spawns. A level one will have the same experiance no matter what zone(s)he is in. Not that I'm saying I want the change. -

One potential stumbling block I see is getting the costume creator to restrict choices based on animations selected - you can't allow people to pick a bow if they've chosen crossbow animations and vice versa. This is probably not that big a deal, though I obviously can't be certain (SCR again). Since SS and MA are weaponless sets, neither of them serves as proof that this has been addressed yet. Hopefully it has been, or will be.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see why this couldn't be handled the same way clipping issues with costume pieces are handled, i.e. sub-menus. -

Thanks for the answers, all.
I've been eagerly awaiting this since I've heard about it. I hope it takes the form of some trial that I can take my main through. It would also be nice if Incarnates have some reasonable chances to solo AVs and giant monsters.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well-built ordinary toons can already solo AVs and some giant monsters.
I have a feeling the devs are never going to make them obviously overpowered. They've already said that the level cap will never be raised.
[/ QUOTE ]
They also said there would never be power customization or side switching
[/ QUOTE ]
No they didn't. Almost everytime power customization and side switching came up the Devs said it was something they wanted to do but couldn't, while they've made it pretty clear that they have no intrest in raising the level cap. -

[u]hover.txt[u]
lctrl powexectoggleoff "super speed" $$ powexectoggleon "hover" $$ bindloadfile ss.txt
[u]ss.txt[u]
lctrl powexectoggleoff "hover" $$ powexectoggleon "super speed" $$ bindloadfile hover.txt
Save those two files in "..\City of Heroes\data\" and then do a /bindloadfile to begin using it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Im not certain but I think the quote marks are in the wrong spots, I've always seen it formated as:
lctrl "powexectoggleoff super speed$$ powexectoggleon hover$$ bindloadfile ss.txt" -

Many people DON'T frequently alt. I know several people who play one character to the exclusion of all others, until they feel that that character is "complete". I even know a few who only play ONE character, abandoning all others once they found the "right" one. Why should these people be forbidden to get the badge, or forced to play your way to get it?
[/ QUOTE ]
Many people don't PvP, and yet there are badges for doing it. Same goes for crafting, MOB hunting, Ouroborus, AE, Task/Strike Forces, selling on the market, etc. Every badge is designed to reward a single play style, that some players will have to change from their preferred style of play if they wish to get the badge is pretty standard. -
The characters Scale is recorded in the costume file so I don't think you need to /demorecord to get it.

Yup, I am thinking this was an oversight and they acually meant to make her cross faction but who knows... maybe it is a conspiracy against city of villians....
My friend thinks it is a nemesis plot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, during beta for i15, all of the contacts in RWZ and Cimerora would say the same thing. Something got borked with the way that co-op zones' contacts work. They got most of them, but apparently missed PD (probably, I'm guessing, because it's not a very common occurrence to train up in Pocket D).
Edit: And yes, it most likely is a Nemesis plot.

Im almost certain she refused to level my Dominator prior to I15 going live. -
Used to be able to use the /architect in missions, I corrected a few errors in my arcs that way, but it seems to have changed at some point.

i have my power trainer giving me a hand in learning new powers and stuff and i have my tailor crafting me a costume, soon he'll give me the option of changin my gender cool and fair enough. could i ask my tailor to make my costume of a stronger material rezistant to fire for an extra fee ? i think its more reasonable than gender bending. maybe this month the tailor has in stock material for costumes that give a cold protection, next month some fire protection on a different costume.
to me it just seems like a nice and pretty logic feature, and it could keep the costumes unique as before.

I think IO set bonuses cover this aspect already. -

So what happens when you have 2 mish already taken that you do not wish to complete and you get a mish to kill 50 carnies? If street farming were popluar then those mobs would be much more difficult to find.
[/ QUOTE ]
The mobs might be harder to find solo, but since the player could just jump on one of the street sweeping teams, it could very well be easier to find them. -

[ QUOTE ]
And I repeat, you're looking at one instance the game cannot replicate and that could easily be excluded because the CoH game system ISN'T Champions.
I only cited Champions as a game that made it possible (possible does not equal CERTAIN) to create very different characters of equal capability.
Aett asserted it couldn't be done, I said it could, and provided Champions as an example where standardization created balance.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except Champions doesn't create balance, it merely allows for balance. To actually achieve balance it needs the input of an intelligent arbiter, i.e. a GM, which means it has no baring on the achievability of balance in a MMO setting since sufficent AI dosn't exist yet and giving every player their own GM is unrealistic. -
[ QUOTE ]
One of the ARBITERS?
I had the same reaction. Arbiter status is supposed to be granted to those whose loyalty to Recluse, personally, is beyond reproach. Completing this SF isn't even close.
[/ QUOTE ]
Technicly he doesn't make you an Arbiter, he just lets you claim to be one. -

What is Arachnos digging for outside the walls of Grandville?
What exactly did the water of the Well do to Recluse? It's clear that Statesman got the powers of a god, but what powers did Recluse get? Most of his powers are pet summons or come from his arms... Did the arms start to grow from the powers of the Well? I can imagine a funny scene where the two of them drink and Recluse starts growing arm stubs.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can answer this one, a bit anyway.Recluse absorbed the essence of Tartarus from the Well..How that equals what he has as a mastermind powerset, idk.
[/ QUOTE ]
In the novel Web of Arachnos Recluse claims to have forced the powers shaping his body to grow the legs through force of will. -

Isn't that what the Correct Costume toggle already does?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, when you are loading a costume that was created for a Male model onto a Female model or Huge model it doesn't load the costume at all. Same thing with any other model. Saved costumes will only load on that model.
I agree, the Save/Load system should be able to recognize the common costume parts between models and load them appropriately.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agrue, but thats not what the OP asked for.
[ QUOTE ]
well, what i had happen, was it was the same model, but because the saved one used an unlockable costume piece, the council gun, it would not allow me to use it.
[/ QUOTE ]
If the models are the same there should be a "check box" that looks like the "Copy Color Across Entire Body" box between the widow that displays the saved costume and the list of saved costumes. Checking that will switch the missing costume part to one the character has, often its what ever the character has in that "slot." I have found a few times where clicking the box fails to fix the costume, but thats likely a bug and should be reported as such. -

I want an Ice/Fire brute. Nothing screams oxymoron like that.
I can just see a conversation that my brute has with someone.
Civilian: Uhh, you're holding a flaming sword.
Brute: Yeah? So?
Civilian: But, you're like made out of ice!
Brute: Yeah. Cool huh?
Civilian:

Wouldn't a Ice/Fire brute be holding an ice sword while being made of fire? -

this of course begs the question who are all the heroes on the loading screen?
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm - Jennifer, Mike, Stan and the other Jennifer. Oh, and the guys from Accounting, I think. Weren't you paying attention earlier?
[/ QUOTE ]
But "other" Jennifer isn't on the CoH loading screen, and that still leaves 10 other heroes un-named. -

Number 3 looks like he could be an early version of Foreshadow, just like that Back Alley Brawler doesn't look much like the one we have now.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, #3 is that same "vertigo" guy that's on the main loading screen. The Guy with the single monocle and the swirly chest pattern. Don't know his name or origin, but I'm pretty sure from the outfit it's related to the concept of "vertigo". Possibly a form of Mind Controller.
#2 is also on the loading screen, with a really good front view. Looks like some sort of "tribal warrior".
[/ QUOTE ]
This wallpaper seems to indicate he's a speedster. Also #s 1, 2 and 3 are all on the loading screen. -
Stripping a character's badges off when switching sides would defeat the purpose of the alternet names some of the badges have.

For what it's worth, I was able to spot the problem, though it was due to the fact I've had a similar problem for a few months. I haven't used the tailor to fixit as it seems to be what lets me play with this bug. -

what?
so we can edit something in the CoH folder and get all the emotes in the list?
I have the videomap thingy, but that was kind of 'installed' so I didn't have to do anything and I didn't know you could change background. hm interesting
Has anybody done the file emote thingy?
