  1. My major peeve with my Bases is that when I zone into it, I'm always facing a wall. I've tried rotating the Base Portal thingy, rotating the room, moving the room to a different spot on the plot, adding more doorways (well, up to 3) and I'll still wind up facing a wall. Please, let me come into my base and not face a wall.

    Badges

    * Heroes who get a Villain Mission badge (and Villains who get a Hero Mission badge) will have that badge immediately revoked. Characters who already have badges for missions that they should not be able to access due to which side they are on, will have those badges revoked as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sucks for those who have these.

So I'm wondering: what about those players, back when COV was recently launched, who's Villain character suddenly appeared Hero side. I didn't follow all those threads, but I recall seeing a comment that the GMs couldn't return a couple of those characters to Villain side. Were these cases ever resolved?

The combative inhabitants in a zone will move off the streets and to safer locations when a Rikti Invasion takes place.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Chase will have to change his Guide to Issue 10 comic.
  4. There weren't any Invasion Announcements while I was in the Shadow Shard which was a relief. It kept with the zone's ambiance.
  5. The first thing the popped into mind when I saw the Vanguard logo was that it looked just like Major Glory of Justice Friends (ala Dexter's Laboratory). I wasn't able to google a good image for comparison purposes, though.
  6. The lag is incredible. I had 1-2 sec delays on power activations--those that I could see animated, anyway.

I like the lighting side effect on the city. The zone looks a lot better without the glowing blue back drop.

The Rikti heavy armors look very nice. I'd like to see some of that filter into the costume creator.
  7. I'd like to suggest dual fighting sticks. In addition, I'd suggest that they not be a plain stick where it would pigeon hole them into being yet another smash/lethal, and thus highly resisted, set. Instead have them be a "charged" rod to give some energy damage. Perhaps with different attacks, they can deal different elemental damages. Hey, maybe the damage type can be different everytime you pull them out--like how the Phantom Army's ranged attacks' damage type are different with every summon.

The dual fighting sticks can also substitue for both the proposed Energy Blade and Dual Blades. There are already 2 sword sets plus we've already seen the Red Cap's dual blade attacks. Dual fighting sticks would be all new animation.
  8. I need some insights on what those suggested Defensive sets are about. Can anyone more imaginative than me care to elaborate or speculate?

Weird, that box popped up for me this weekend when I first logged on, not after a while and in a fight.

It must be true, the Devs hate you.

On Sunday, the message box popped up when I logged in. Monday night's session, it didn't pop up until quite a bit later. Luckily, I was in my Base doing inventory.
  10. Zeus, how did you get around with that costume? It looks like one solid hard shell. Or did you go as a statue?
  11. Wait. Malta, minions or otherwise, have +preception? Since when? I've never noticed that they were noticing me more often and I usually only run around with Cloaking Device. I don't use Smoke Grenade unless I intend lay down mine field at close range.
  12. It was a mid-40s team going after an AV. The Tank goes in to get the AV's attention. I dash off to the side as that's what I usually do so I have an unobstructed view. The rest of the team follows the Tank and attacks from behind him. The team immediately receives constant heavy damage and the heal capable players switch to auto-heal to keep up. No one seemed to realize that the AV is using a series of cone attacks on the Tank so being behind him was bad. After I tell them to move to the side, the fight goes a lot smoother as the healing players could participate instead of healing.

    Issue 12 is out!

Well, I guess I'll save some money by not having to buy the comic book now. Bummer.
  14. (sorry, I haven't had time to read this whole thread yet.)

What's to stop a disgruntled team member from deleting your whole stored inventory?
  15. Well, Alexa said she and Arctic_Sun work for NCSoft, not Cryptic. Perhaps they're being shifted to NCSoft's new game Auto Assault?

but here was our intent with these Contacts - reward Exploration. Reward people who poke around to find new things.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Reward exploration, huh? I don't know about you, but the first time I'm in a new area, my exploration is minimal. This is especially so with a low level character, one without a Travel power or some Stealth capability. I'm more interested in just surviving getting to the mission door. Figuring out best route or shortest route is about all I'm up for. Of course, once I do have a Travel power, I usually not spending a lot of time ground level. About the only time I'll be scowering the neighborhood at ground level is if I feel like going around street sweeping. Street sweeping, an activity that is being discouraged with all the recent boosts to missions. Now I do go back to the "old neighborhood" once in a while, but it's when I've way outleveled it. Why? Because it's a lot safer to be poking around then. But hey, doesn't that mean I'd have outleveled these hidden contacts already?

Just happened to me at lunch today. In a mission with that Winding set of corridors and stairs that leads to a room at the bottom.

Started fighting the first group. Way at the first staircase. Get them mostly down and then a Red Tank Boss shows up with a couple of friends. Didn't think anything of it at the time, but then I walk all the way around and into the "boss room" and all that is there is the hostage waiting for me to kidnap her. Must be the same bug.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I bugged this during Beta. I got aggro thru the wall at the top of the stairs to the first landing with the vending machines side room. In fact, once I had a Hellion Damned fireballed and flared me through the wall before I figure out it wasn't the minions at the vending machines. When I moved out of the way (I was still dealing with the minions), a few moments later the Damned came running up the stairs at the other end with a beeline to me.

However, I think it was fixed with COV live. I haven't had this happen at all this week.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
If you Attack, or are Hit - Critters see you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If this is the case, that is every foe can see you, not just the group you are aggroed with, then I agree with the others about the endurance cost. The endurance cost should be lessen during the revealed/suppressed period or reduced as a whole for the powers.

Stealth in particular because that seems to be a physical technique, ie you are sneaking around. This is in contrast to Cloaking Device where you have a gadget running. Once battle begins, voluntarily or not, then you are not and probably can't maintain sneaking anymore. For Stealth, I would suggest that along with the visibility suppression, that it's self slow should be suppressed too.

Still, I disagree that once aggroed EVERY foe should be able to see you. The Cloaking Device is still running. The invisibility "spell" is still on. The mists and miasmas are still flowing. I would rather it be that upon engagement, you have a CHANCE to be seen by foes in adjacent spawn groups. In addition, there should be a slight chance for engaged foes to lose sight of you and thus lose aggro.
  19. I haven't tested Defiance and frankly, I'm not going to bother. This whole concept is against my playstyle.

I've played a couple of Blasters for over a year now. I know that when my health drops to half, I'm going to get screwed if I don't use a Respite immediately. Especially since those little Respites my contact sells me don't heal much. I'm not going to fool around just to see a little boost in damage.

This is even more true if I'm on a team. Should I voluntarily increase my chances of defeat significantly by not using a Respite just for a chance of a little more damage? What good is that damage to the team if I don't survive the next shot at me?

I'm a soloist, so even on a team I play self sufficiently. I support the team, but play knowingly that at times, they may not be able to return the support. This keeps me alive. And I believe this will be particularly relavent if Issue 5 goes Live. With the decreases in Tanker and Controller effectiveness, the Defenders may be overwhelmed in trying to keep the front line from falling. I'm not going to distract them with an orange/red health bar.

This buff is bogus and is too dangerous to use. If I'm on with any of my characters that can heal, you can be sure that I'll be conducting drive-by heals without reservation. Tell your in-game support crew to expect petitions about me for griefing with heals.

This is good to hear, but don't make them too easy. A tough fight is an interesting fight.

    Mavin on Infinity.

    Close up.
    Full Frontal.
    Full rear.

Those are shorts she's wearing, not a skirt. Her leg positionings makes it ambigious in the screenshots.

I've put up a few old, but interesting action shots here.
  22. I remember when I entered a new zone, it was a white knuckle experience.

I remember trying desperately to get back to the train station from the hospital at Steel using hover.

I remember trying to run back to the train station from the hospital at Steel and came up to the interior corner of that L-shaped building (north of the mutant shop) and was too scared to run around it. I hovered over it.

I remember running around next to the walls at Boomtown to map out the zone perimeter sweating profusely while dodging and wowing at the masses of purple upper-teens foes.

I don't exactly remember how, but once I wound up at IP and was trying to make it back to Steel or anywhere just to get out. Again using hover and being one-shotted like a duck.

I remember finally taking fly, my first travel power, at 28.
  23. Geez! I had to look at Chris_D's jpg 3 times to finally see those arrows. Well, I guess that why I never used them.
