Quote:Are you sure you can afford to have Apocalypse enhancements? Taking a quick look at the auction house, you will be expecting to spend 3.5 billion Inf for the full set if you need to buy all of the pieces. I'm specifically asking about this because you haven't selected any other high priced enhancements for any of the other powers in your build. In fact, a few of them are "cheapos". Is the snipe attack really that fundamental to your play style that you're favoring it so much? Do you really have this much Inf on hand to use?Level 8: Sniper Blast
- (A) Apocalypse - Damage: Level 50
- (9) Apocalypse - Damage/Recharge: Level 50
- (15) Apocalypse - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge: Level 50
- (19) Apocalypse - Accuracy/Recharge: Level 50
- (19) Apocalypse - Damage/Endurance: Level 50
- (31) Apocalypse - Chance of Damage(Negative): Level 50
As to the rest of your slotting, I personally find that you don't have enough accuracy. Just to be clear, do you know that you can use pieces from more than one Set in a power? You can mix and match pieces from several sets to get better attribute boost numbers. -
Wouldn't this be similar to a combo attack mechanic like from Dual Blades or that new Street Justice?

I use Grant Invis on my FFGen. It is useful when I go in first to drop the Poison Gas Trap or Acid Mortar so the FFGen doesn't pre-aggro everybody.

In regards the Noble_Savage's thoughts on Hamidon (I didn't read everything between his post and here), the one thing that always bugged me is that Hami's interior jelly does not have different physics. Hami's jelly is a different medium, presumably more viscous. You shouldn't be able to just run/jump/fly into him and not be affected in some way.
For this hypothetical example, I propose that when you enter Hami, you will encounter either a -movement effect field or Hami's interior is considered water. I prefer the water treatment myself, especially it is the submersible and swimmable water like that in the Cimeroran mission cave chamber. This will have the side benefit to the non-flying meleers being able to swim up to a mito without having to do hop-attacks. -
Quote:You haven't specified how much Inf you have to pay for the enhancements you'll need for any build that Aett_Thorn comes up with. What's your budget? Should Aett spend the time to make a multi-hundreds of millions or even a multi-billion Inf build when you only have 5 million?I want to be able to do anything, but i would lean toward lots of damage and recharge, but i would like to have some defense, i dont want to be made of glass if you get what i mean, so i want to do damage from affar and up close, but i want to have a little defense for 1 of the builds. so, for build number 1 does a lot of damage upclose and far away and recharge, build number 2 is really tough but can do close range damage and some recharge. ok?

Dual_Hammer sounds like he really hasn't spent much time playing with his characters to know how to respond to you.

If I know what I know now when I made my Emp Defender, who was my 2nd played character, I would choose to go with Ice blasts. This is due to Ice having 2 holds which means soloing bosses or any mezzing enemy would have been trivial.
Instead I had taken Energy blasts back then and that was due to me only having an Energy blaster as my first played character so I was somewhat familiar with the set. It was fine when I was teaming, but not so good for soloing. The epiphany that Energy blast just wasn't good enough came to me one day as I was staring at a trio of Rikti, one of which was a Mentalist or Mezmerist boss. They were the first spawn group in the mission. I stared at them for several minutes and I could not come up with an attack plan that wouldn't require me to use a lot of my inspirations. All that for just the first group, so what was I going to do for the rest of the mission? Exit to buy more after every couple of groups? It took a year and a half to learn new tactics along with 3 respecs (SO builds only back then) to get to a point where I was confident that I could solo almost any regular enemy type.
While I am a better player now because of all this, Ice's 2 holds would have made things so much easier! -
Did you talk to Arbitor Rein(?) standing at the ramp leading to the doors to the Arachnos building?

Sonic Attack's sleep power Siren's Song does damage along with the sleep. It had gotten me killed the first time I tested it out (on a bunch of AVs
). I guess a +placate would go well here.

There is already a confirmation prompt for when you're placing an enhancement. If you're not seeing it, check your Options, you may have disabled it at some point. Note: I don't think it takes into consideration if you're placing your new enhancement over an existing slotted one. It just ask: are you sure you want to slot the enhancement now.

Quote:I've read Something Positive on-and-off over the years. The first time you read it, you'll probably feel a bit disturbed over its negative tone. If you persist, you will realize that its style is something along the lines of insult comedy. Once you loosen up to it, you'll find it consistently funny. Maybe.Something Positive, a webcomic that...well...cannot be summed up, it needs to be read to be believed.

What's the incubation period? -
Does your global name have a space? I recall reading someone else having a problem and it was due to them assuming they had to use an underscore instead of a real space character for the space.

Quote:Been there, done that. I once spent the whole enhancement replacement phase wondering why I had all these extra slots to work with from the slot allocation phase that my previous build didn't have. I did look everything over a couple of times before finally committing. I do my respecs slowly following my paper and pencil plan, so I'm pretty cautious about it. However, when my mind is ignoring something, there's nothing I can do about it. Of course, the problem was obvious once I looked at my build outside of the respec screens.Well, you know... not that I want to seem entirely lacking in compassion here, but at what point do you step back and say, "This problem calls for a nice hot steaming mug of pay attention"? I mean, it's a respec, at high levels it's not exactly a small job in the first place, and it's not as if it has to be performed under time pressure. It's not Final Jeopardy!, for pete's sake. Take notes!

Quote:I must have missed this tip in the thread. Disabling the "Secure browsing" finally did the trick. Thanks a lot!Check your Facebook security settings to make sure you're not using "Secure browsing". As others have discovered, the promotion page won't load if "Secure browsing" is enabled.
On your Facebook page, go to the upper-right corner, click on "Account", then "Account settings". Look for "Account Security" on the next page, click to expand it, then UNcheck the box by "Secure browsing (https)". Click "Save" to finish. Then try the CoH promotions link again and see what happens.
You can always go back and re-enable "Secure browsing" after you've gotten your game code. -

I see that you've already made your Ice blaster, so I'm a little late to the party. I was going to suggest making an Ice/Mental Manip. I've been playing a Fire/MM lately and after I'd gotten a good feel on the */MM powers, I immediately thought that */MM would pair well with Ice/*.
Ice's AOEs are lackluster (not counting Blizzard) and */MM offers 2 additional AOEs. One is a cone that will fit right in with Ice's cone for a quick double blast. The other is a fairly short radius PBAOE, but it's quick to recharge and nice to use if you get surrounded. I always found my Ice blast characters (blaster, corrupter, defender) were endurance hungry and */MM has a +regen/+recov power to help. And as a bonus, this power also does -regen on enemies which is nice if you wind up on team lacking in debuffs for an AV or GM. -

Quote:So far, I read it as doing the same boost as SOs/HOs - so, + or ++ rather than turning it into a level 51 or 52, and can't be sold on the market (without losing the boost).
Here's hoping I'm wrong so I can buy 51, 52, 53 IOs with my endless piles of fake money rather than with my smaller stash of real money.
