Sounds like you just enjoy belligerently posting about how messed up things are and how glad you are to have quit.
Bad grammar makes you appear less intelligent than you are. No posturing here.

Internet Neo-Maxi-zoom-dweebies picking on other people's typos makes them...??
And i enjoy being able to post about how the change sucks, they lost a customer and get to do it for free.
Nice try though. -
forms haev sucked since they broke them with the "fix" for costume exploits. Way to ruin kheldian game play devs.

What is this toggle block thing? And just using three months of free play time to squat on the forums and complain is a huge waste of your time. I suggest sports.
Also, it's ridiculous. As in, "Your spelling of ridiculous is ridiculous."

Thanks? Internet posturing at its best
And i get three free months of telling them how they lost a customer. That's a score in any book. -

[/ QUOTE ]
How'd you get that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Beats me. I logged into plaync and had 3 unused serial codes. i applied them and have 3 free months.
<shrug>
And i think the change and crappy resulting form swapping from toggle block was game breaking. I won't play again. but i'll be damned if i'm going to let 3 free months of posting about how it sucks on a daily basis pass by.
It takes 2 minutes to post it and email it to a dev. I get a free pass to tell them my opinion. That's full of win! -
Have they done anything about the "toggle block" that the rediculous costume effect causes?
Any news? planned fixes?
Anything?!
I left this game 6 months ago because of it, and they have given me 3 free months of play. Although I won't play, i do plan on using that time to post on this board to let the Devs know how rediculous the "fix" was and push for a fix to the "fix." -
Base Repricing
1) How will the repricing of bases affect you personally?
I will be able to aquire a larger plot, more items that i would like to place, and be able to afford rent easier.
2) Will you dismantle your base to gain the additional prestige from the repricing?
Absolutely.
3) How long would this process take you if you were to engage in this practice?
A few hours i suspect. Not bad considering, and i enjoy base building so, nto a nuisance
4) What are the positive and negative concerns regarding repricing?
Positive: More SG'd can afford mroe and better bases sooner. Myself included.
Negetive: Can't see any.
5) How will this feature affect you long term and short term?
I'll be able to spend less time grinding to earn prestige for a base upgrade, and more time engaging in things i prefer to do, like TF's, Trials, Playign new ALT toons. I'll spend more time playign with the base editor, which i enjoy. All in all, i'm seeing the new pricing is very nice. -
I'm sure someone reported this. I'm still going to make this post anyhow
I constantly resize the chat window, by grabbing the top line and dragging it up screen and back down to see people talking. when i play i smash it down small, when i pause i bring it up. Worked fine before.
Issue 12 goes live:::: Now when i resize the chat window, the scrolling stops. I have to MANUALLY grab the scroll bar and move it all the way down to the bottom myself for it to lock to next posted message.
MEH. Fix this pelase. It's really REALLY annoying to not be able to see what people are saying.
Please put it back the way it was, that when someone posts it automatically drops the chat box to the most recent post (i.e. the end or bottom of the box).
As it is now, if i touch the chat box it unlocks the scrolling of the messages until i fix it manually. Not fun. -

Please use this thread to discuss the below announcement:
NCsoft NorCal is proud to announce a new feature for the City of Heroes® and City of Villains® games; that of Visual Sounds. Visual Sounds are based on the comic book staple of onomatopoeia, or the use of a word to replace a sound. Classic comic book examples are Pow and Ka-Boom! in colorful bubbles while heroes and villains are slugging it out. City of Heroes takes a huge stride forward by replacing simple sounds with the exciting new visual medium of Visual Sounds.

Fire Bomb - I'm not trying to insult you, and I didn't really want to get back into this thread, but Monay's post sucked me in.
If your numbers were posted to compare L1 attacks AT L1, then my comments just don't apply. But after it was made clear I meant my comments in the context of later game play, it is clear to someone thinking that they're not that relevent, for reasons stated.
Please realize I think your post was, in many respects, excellent, and I didn't intend for my comments to be construed as a personal attack. I just wanted to be clear that those numbers can't be considered relevent in the context that I was trying to say barrage was lacking.
But I posted initially more just to gripe about how useless it was to me at 45, with no way to get rid of it, when I'd have preferred to replace it with any other L1 tanker power or a pool power.... but my post was just a gripe and I didn't really put the needed info into it. I was lazy and started things off poorly. I'm going to try again to exit the thread. Sorry again.

What I always like in posts like this is that people only look at the brawl index, and not factors like power recharge/activation time, or endurance cost.
So I'm going to do something I rarely do, and back up my words with a factual avalanche. Presented below is a table of every tanker melee first power's brawl index, activation + recharge time, and endurance spent.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your analysis is disingenuous or ignorant. Activation time and BI are what matter for these powers at higher levels. Recharge times and end costs are basically irrelevent (not for all powers; but for powers in this tier). We could poll /En tanks about trading up to a BI of 2.778 in return for 5.5sec rech and 5.4 end. I'd expect near 100% to be in favor.
Some powers still have a use at higher levels, especially in builds which are hard pressed to free up power slots to take extra attacks, but Barrage just can't find a home in a build. The damage is too small to be relevent.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is just B.S i have to say.
Your poll is doscounted right here: I don't want the EM set touched. Barrage is fine. lvl 40 and STILL using it, on my Invuln/EM Tank.
Damage over time, endurance used and total front load damage all play a factor. To say they don't is to say we all remain level 1 forever. You hit level 6 inside an hour. And level 14 inside a couple days of normal play. Barrage is fine.
By the way, whirling hands is an incredible AoE power you get incredibly early. Stun, Damage in two components.
Castle, thanks for dropping the truth on us. two thumbs way down. -

I will gladly pvp your tank anytime Mistress. What server are you on? It's not Justice I am assuming cause I have never seen you in Sirens or Warburg.
Now when I said tanks get owned in PVP does that mean every single tank? NO, there are a few tanks out there that can hold their own. But as a whole they are pretty gimped. Ever try a Fire tank in PVP? You don't even have KB protection unless you get acrobatics, which means you have to take 3 total powers from leaping.
To the "regen" tank - because your ONE type of tank that takes aid self etc etc is able to do missions on invincible and take the agro from "17 +3 mobs" doesnt mean ALL tanks can do it. In FACT most tanks can't do it.
You said I need to maybe "adjust my play style" which to me means I should now be expected to buy aid self? My fire tank already has a self heal and consume. He just can't tank the dmg at all. 2 Shields with a total of 6 dmg resists between them just can't cut it in PVP or PVE. Thats a FACT.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please re-read my posts and show me exactly where i said all tanks can tank as well as eachother. Please also show me where my posts say ANY tank can tank 17 +3 foes.
You mention that "possibly adjust your playstyle" to you means "i should now be expected to take aid self." You specifically add a question mark to the end of this, so i will answer it (even though it's glaringly obvious that it is rhetorical). **Here's your answer: no you don't need to take aid self.**
My comment about your playstyle was in direct reference to your innabilities to tank, AS SPECIFIED in your post.
I would imagine, if you review your post, and my post pertaining to said post, you would then see that i suggested possibly it's your playstyle. I would also surmise we both understand that in our native language that saying the word "playstyle" does not equal the words "aid self." Also i would surmise we both understand that "aid self" is not a synonym of "playstyle." It simply means: how you play.
I specifically did not mention ways to alter it as a) this would be very assumptive in light of the fact i do not actually know your playstyle and can only suggest it may BE your playstyle, as many other tanks can actually do this; and b) would be considered rude, as i wouldn't attempt to condescend to your playstyle without actually having witnessed it.
You mention in your post that "most tanks" cannot do what i have mentioned in my posts. Most means majority. A stone tank can do this. An invuln tank can do this. So, half the tanking CLASS can do this. Most would be a greater share of the tank class, or 51% or more. -
Guys, this isn't a tank thread, it's an endurance thread. Can we stick to that, please?
Two things Scion. You didn't have it out with me at any time. Your manner is disrespectful in my view, and i asked/informed you to desist.
Scion, your comments to the Burst fellow concerning "tanks died in I4" and "learn to read, then post" were very lacking in grammatical correctness, so please refrain from attacking his ability to read should you choose not to exercise any ability to communicate in a written fashion. The actual literal meaning of "tanks died in I4" would mean very specificaly that Tanks (plural) died in issue 4. Meaning they all died. So, his response to you was accurate. They did not "die" in issue 4. Now, if you meant to say "even a tank could suffer from defeat or death in issue 4," then you would be accurate. There's a literal difference between the two, which wouldn't usually be an issue. HOWEVER, you chose to accost someone in written fashion with the comment, "learn to read....." which then would hold you to your own statement requiring you to "learn to communicate clearly" should you have ANY desire to not look like a pedantic hipocrate.
Not that you are one, just that SHOULD you strive NOT to be one, you would need to follow the above guidelines of communication to do so.
And Scion, you have no idea what my attitude on anything is unless I specifically tell you what it is. You can assume. That's something, I suppose. We all know what assuming makes someone into. -

You are just wasting those 3 slots 6 slotting stamina.
And anyone that thinks having 3 slot stamina and the global end bonus is the same as pre-ED 6 slot stamina is crazy.
I have a 50 fire/en tank. He can't even run his toggles and attack with his whole attack chain without running out of end now. Nor can he tank any damage whatsoever because all of his shields have only 3 dmg resists in them. ED totally ruined tanks and any def AT's in my opinion.
[/ QUOTE ]
Glad that's your opinion. My Invuln tank can handle 17 +3 foes no sweat. even non smashing leathal ones, as aid self is a great tool. Maybe your play style needs some altering?
Sure tanks aren't "i win" buttons any longer, and God Mode is gone now, but tanks still beat down the game in terms of "[censored]? you think you can hurt THIS?!" idea.
My tank does just fine, and my SG mates never need a defender or controller if i'm there. -

Semper_fi,
What toggles are you using and how often are they on? Before ED and the Stamina 6 slotted I never had a problem with End on my 32 Inv/EM Tank. I ran with all my toggles on at all times (silly) and never worried. I was mostly diversified in my slots before.
Now, Stamina is 3 slotted I'm still diversified and my end is mostly gone with a 3 person mob. My tank is level 36 and I run with Manuevers, TI, UNY and In at all times w a End Red in each. It looks like I'll need to add more End reducers to my toggles to help some of the endurance bleeding.

An update:
He's lvl 33 now, 34 soon. Haven't played much lately, due to work. The toggles i run so far are: temp inv, UY, and invinc. I have stamina 3 slot, and 1 end redux in each power. I have 4 attacks: barrage, ene punch, bonesmasher, and whirling hands. Of all my attacks only whirling hands has an end redux in it. I spam taunt as often as it's up, and somtimes forget to turn of combat jumping so run 4 toggles half the time. I don't run out of end, rarely go below half, and only have to stop fighting between spawns to wait for the group to recover. If i didn't have to wait for them, i wouldn't have to stop, he's basically a steamroller: slow but irresistable and deadly. I don't plan on taking build up, or ene transfer (until the 40's), though i will take total focus at 38. I use aid self when neded. No end problems.
Claws/SR scrapper and 3 slot stamina in the high 20's. I skipped spin, as i don't think the damage/end usage is balanced. She never runs out of end. Runs both FF and FS, and perma PB. Shell have tough eventually and her 3rd toggle.
ILL/FF controller high 20's 30 soon, and on her way to phantasm very fast. She runs disp bubble and superior invis always. Half the time she's hovering as well, and that has 3 flight speed in it, no end redux. Sup invis has 3 end redux in it, and disp bubble has 2. she spams both other team bubbles every fight so they're always up perm on team members. she spams decieve, blind and spec terror as soon as they cycle. Spec terror is basically perm, blind can hold multiple +1-2 targets overlapped, and decieve is the same. She drops phant army when it cycles. No end issues post stamina, though she slots heavily in invis and disp bubble for end redux. tactics is next selected in 1 level, and will have 2 end redux in it.
Stone tank in the teens, he runs 1-2 toggles. he hurts for end dramatically, but i knew this would be the case. He'll be fine in the 32+ game i'm sure, with stamina, and teleport: teleport having 3 end redux.
Gravity controller has been stalled due to work, haven't had a chance to dust that toon off much.
Blaster is doing alright but has been gathering a bit of dust also (work, curse you!), he has some end issues, but i spam attacks non stop, and stamina isn't slotted at all (curse you influence!!), he's as he should be.
All in all, the global reduction is really on the money for stamina and ED for these builds. I'm reletively sure NOW that i could make any build basically min/maxed with no end issues. Even dark armour, as i run an SR scrapper with 2-3 toggles now, and end doesn't budge most of the time, so when SR scrap gets more, things will STILL be fine.
No one is saying the global end reduction is an exact compensation for the Ed hit to stamina. What i KNOW from play testing is that it's very accurate, and helps a great deal.
Also, rest seems to recover faster than i even need it at low levels. Conceptually this is really cool. Even in the comics heroes take a moment to catch a breath. Hell, i do it at the gym, between sets, i stop for a minute or two to catch a breather.
Ps. Yes i have about 4 female toons, for Concept reasons. My other 4 are male. My gf would kill me if I deleted the two that i created that look like her. She's fond of them. -
Recieving about 2-3 tells a minute for the eintire duration of your play time on your defender to the effect of,
"R U heelor?"
You shouldn't need one if you're worth 2 gobs of spit and a jar of cold p*ss. -
Short and sweet: ED hit blaster damage output capability. We have low Hp, no defense, no mez protection. The boards are rife with posts about the innability to even kill an even con foe with one shot with SNIPE. Rebalance Blasters damage output: it needs an increase/adjustment up. Make mobs less able to resist damage types. In any event, we need to be the .44 mag of hanguns again. Not the .32 snub nose.
-
Another update:
Inv/em tank at 25 now, stamina with one slot, all 3 toggles running and getting a couple more soon. While i had slight end issues in the 18-22 game on this tank, i have no real issues to speak of now, so this is a good balance point.
Ill/ff countroller has stamina now, no end issues to speak of. the bar moves up and down, but with the rest recharge reduction, insp drop rate and spacing between fights, no issues. Grav/rad controller also nearing stamina. she's a bit more of a challange to manage with her debuffs, but once i get stamina i don't think this will be an issue. Blaster is stagnating, he's got end issues. To keep his dps up, i would need maxed out stamina. We all know blasters are end hogs, nothing new here.
My conclusions: Stamina is still very beneficial. The global end redux was right on the money. Blasters need help on a set by set bases, possibly slight end reductions in their powers.
Otherwise, i think the global reduction was well planned, and works well. -

Then we repeal the hated stealth nerf. The reason why: many well reasoned posts. It's that simple. You guys pointed out the problems.

How many good posts did you hear on ED? I'm dissapointed that above all you choose to take away a nerf so small that only effects a portion of the players yet you didn't take out the nerf that damaged so many. I don't want to bring up the ED posts again, but this is just my opinion.
And I think its great that I can still be one shotted by stalkers in PvP, thanks Statesman. Having someone act like a guy with the energy sword on Halo 2 is exactly how I wanted to play this game.

Maybe the posts concerning ED weren't as well thought out or made as much sense?? Not that I like ed, but maybe the timing of asian release has something to do with game balance?? HMM??
Just because it's posted, doesn't mean it's necessarily a good idea. The stealth suprression had no obvious reason/fix. ED does. Even if i don't agree, it did fix a great deal of things that needed balance for pve and pvp. Not that i like it, i don't. I just don't have a better idea, because i don't design games.
