Quote:Wait, when did this happen? When Champion Online first came out Cryptic had only purchased the rights to the Champions setting, not Hero Games, the Hero System or even the other settings.I played Champions RPG when it was still mail order, way back when it was first introduced in 1981! Sad, really. It's still a great game today.
Why is it a weird twist? Because Cryptic purchased the entirety of the Hero System. They own it. Cryptic also owns a (not as successful as CoH) competitor MMO based on that Role Playing Game. Hence the weird twist. -
Quote:Yup, just like Fiery Aura having "Rise of the Phoenix" as its tier 9 should be taken as a sign.So when are you guys going to do something with dark armor? After poking around in mids for a while I quickly came to a conclussion, Dark Armor is pretty freaking horrible. Ironic that my first lvl 50 was a Spine/Dark Scrapper. (Yes, I remember having to keep a kin or two on pay roll for SB because of end consumption) ((Also note: this was pre-IO days)) But after looking it over again with Mid's I still don't see any builds that make me say "Wow, that might be fun to play". I decided to muck around with a Dark Tank, still not sure what Secondary to take, I did manage to get a Dark/Ice up to about 35ish but am leary of putting any Set IO's in it. Yeah I know, just get it to lvl 50 and take incarnate stuff to make it work.. bleh - and people wonder why farmers make so much money.
This set could really use some help IMHO, I guess the Tier 9 power as "Soul Transfer" should be taken as a sign?
i've leveled several Dark Armor alts, and the only IOing i consistently do on them is slotting the ToE proc. While i wouldn't run around flailing my arms and screaming in horror if the Devs announced they were going to buff Dark Armor it would probably be very hard to convince them that it's needed. Even without any IOs it's a good set. -

That could be true, but i don't think it was the other person.
Your OP reads like a street musician saying, "Hey, gimme enough money and I'll stop playing near you. Give me even more and I won't play the rest of the day." That... doesn't say much for how you regard your own posts. Look, Dug, i don't how they do things in Arth, but it's very much a passive-aggressive threat. -

Actually i've been finding it to be quite good on my SM/DA Brute. While I haven't gotten any of my staff users to the end game content yet, it is definitely an excellent leveling set and fun to at least the early thirties. Since i normally spend most of my time playing alts under 50 for my purposes it's a good set.

Quote:i went and suggested the Nemesis Steam Horse as a Super Pack pet.Great work, Zwill. Getting this out to non-attendees quickly is much appreciated.
...one thing this game needs less of is vanity pets....IMO, of course!
And i completely forgot to suggest bringing back the Malaise pants. -

Quote:You gots to empty them tubs out occasionally or all youze doing is slathering them there pigs in mud. Which ain't hardly doing nothing to wash them there pigs. But you gets a gold star for effort. (Also a free bar of soap.)Im not sure this is even the right place to post this but maybe a developer will read it a say that my idea is a good one instead just a complaint so here goes.
Problem Role Players are always using broadcast and local chat to spam the start zone and any other zone they feel like hanging out in .
Solution make a chat channel that is for role play chat only.
That way us non role player can be left in peace.
Second problem how do I know if this person wants to role play or just play the game.
Answer you already have the help me and helper tags people can turn on. Add a third Roleplayer tag that all of them can turn on to let anyone who looks at them know at a glance that they welcome Role-play.
thats all I got to say If any of this sounds like a good idea or just hogwash feel free to let me know. -
Small... Well if they replaced all the server power prongs with pieces of wood.
Then there would be no power to the servers. -
Quote:A few of my Defenders have also gotten use out of the Mind Over Body and Dominate APP.Ive always hated defender epics. The only 3 that are alright are dark, soul and levi. The rest are junk.
World of Confusion's only really effective uses are set mule and toggle costume aura. -
It takes multiple Cobalts to mother a smurf? How does that even work? Do they form a rhizome-like structure to gestate it or are we just talking about sharing the responsibility when raising the smurf in question? And that's ignoring the overall awkwardness of your phrasing.
Inquiring minds are actually pretty disinterested in this case.
In the interest of contributing to the ongoing dispute i'll also toss in the obligatory "NO U" -
That was my guess as well. So far i've seen nothing in the Mecha Armor set that i don't want. Hell, i've seen nothing in the set that i haven't wanted for years.

Quote:Well, when you consider the number of serious injuries and deaths from attacks by feral and domestic cats versus the number of serious injuries and deaths from feral and domestic dogs every year it becomes rather clear why some people prefer dogs.Speaking of cats, I never understood why people said "omg all cats r so mean".
I've had like 15 cats, and not a single one has been anything less than playful and sweet. -
Quote:*facepalm* Andy Kaufman is laughing soooo hard at you right now.The Goon Squad can be annoying, and their leader kind of bossy... but this sort of thing right here is why I tolerate them.
The mental picture this evokes is worth the price of admission alone!
p.s. public events are public; to avoid The Wrong Element I suggest events held in your SG base.
Quote:My main Tank got invited to a TF once, and two Storm Controllers were on the team. I had an idea that my life was about to be made a misery, and politely bowed out before start.
This kind of thing is what makes people avoid teaming with stormies, just saying. What's all in good fun to you might end up with you being quietly one-starred by your victim.
Quote:There's a few. They mostly hide in the Pocket D. It's another perfect instance where the global note feature comes in handy.
Overall i've probably seen at least fifty to a hundred dumb jokes about the ubiquity of futa for each time i've seen anything actually vaguely futa related. If i was actively interested in the way some apparently are i might've noticed more, but my indifference apparently shields me or something.
Probably the biggest factor is that i have never gone looking for romance in Pocket D. -
Quote:i no, rite? Darn things getting all up in the doohickeys and causing charlie foxtrots.i have petitined the Goons for their bad names before and NOTHING EVER COME OF IT!!!!! they have names that trigger and insult and sicken and they never are banned! soon we find a GMis in the goons squad and SUPPORT their grief!
Sorry, but while some of the people posting here may actually be serious, this thread is overall quite silly. From the days of the old Hami raids on Champion i've seen really concerted efforts at griefing and seen them fail. If half of what's been posted here about the raid in question is halfway true, then ultimately the raid failed more because the leader let someone's antics get to him than any actual griefing of the raid itself.
Which can happen, and isn't really a condemnation of the leader as a player. One of the reasons i generally avoid leadership roles in large events is that i know i lack the required tolerance for stupidity. i'll help coordinate, but someone else can lead.
*runs out of the thread flailing like a Muppet* -

Actually i don't think i've ever heard sirens inside a real police station. Well, maybe a couple times from cars outside the station, but none inside the station itself.

Quote:i had some glorious PvP battles in bases during the brief times they were somewhat playable, but yeah, the servers didn't seem to handle base PvP very well.Well, we already have that to a degree with the customization options in the Arena.
As to the other idea, we did something like that: Supergroup/Villaingroup bases. It almost melted the servers.
