Look at this way: How many characters are there? Not just players of the game, but all the alts those players have. Thousands? Possibly millions? If there's too many SGs, there's too many superheroes running around.

Now, think of it this way: Many people have groups of friends they like to play with. Friends they trust to be running around in their base touching their salvage or enhancements that they've stored. Some people are selective about who they play with, some don't like playing with others at all. Should they be kept from forming a base and having the advantages of everyone else?

Sometimes it's better to look at things from an MMO point-of-view than a Personal point-of-view. In fact, it's always better to do so when talking about MMOs.

I personally would prefer access to the zones and every player I've spoken to seems to also feel this way. I could be wrong here of course as I've only spoken to a small group of people.

PVP is a very personal thing I agree and I personally don't use it that much either, but I know many players like it, which is why I suggested the option to opt out.
Trust me, it's never good to go off of what "the people you know/spoke-to" think. Odds are, you're talking to like-minded people (as that's usually what people want to do) so of course your sampling could be very skewed. Unfortunately, this game isn't built around PVP, but PVE, and to shoehorn PVP into the PVE areas would be a destructive mess at best.

Don't worry, the community is still a friendly one. You've just managed to post suggestions that most the community wouldn't like. Probably because they've been playing the game a long time, and like the way most of the things are that you want to change. Give it time, you'll see there's a lot of fun to be had in these forums.

That is how bad I think stone armor is.
Sounds like a good and unbalanced approach to me.

Considering Granite is nigh indestructible as it is, I see no problems with the penalties it has. Rooted on the other hand, really is a bit excessive on it's -run. Could the set use some rebalancing? Yeah, I think it could. But complaining about penalties on a power that makes you incredibly hard to kill is pointless.

Every set has it's hole. The fact that Psi in Granite is Stone's ONE AND ONLY gap I'd say the penalties are more than reasonable when running the armor.

Asking for more Psi protection on the only set in game that can soft-cap it with SOs, Weave and a Steadfast, just makes you look moronic. At this point, you're just whining for an "I WIN" button. If you need one, just build your Stone tank to soft-cap S/L/E/N/Psi, and you'll be doing just fine.

Still, Spad's suggestion is pretty reasonable. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water, right? There's not much room for abuse once characters are withing 5 levels of each other. I'd probably level cap it at 25, but that's me.

Sex Drive was much funnier than the previews led me to believe. I would have seen it in the theater had they done a better job of promoting it.

I have to admit, the Last Unicorn was more a joke of irony since I was demanding someone turn in Man Cards in the same post.

Exactly how are these guilty pleasures? You, sir, are docked three man cards.

    Guilty Pleasures:

The Postman - I don't know why, I just do.
Ang Lee's Hulk - I've even said it was better than the reboot. Yeah, that's right!
Cabin Boy - I only list this because evidently everyone I know said it sucked.
The Last Unicorn - Don't look at me! DON'T LOOK AT MEEEE!
  7. So when CL uses the mirror box to get into CK's universe, he keeps the box with him. But if CK is holding the box when it activates, it doesn't go with CK.

Yeah, that makes sense in a non-logical way.

Ran a Lambda last night, and if I recall correctly, the path DOES NOT avoid the elevator shafts. I believe they're in the southern corridor, near one of the caches, but I'd need to run it again to make sure. If it is that close to a location, it might still be worth using them since back tracking might not save any time. (except for Speedsters) I'm always open to suggestions.

Updated the path map. [and updated again 4/14]

This isn't meant to be rude, or uncaring, but why does someone who insists on soloing and never doing TFs feel they NEED these things? They're cool and all, but I don't see how they'd vastly improve much of your solo experience, especially since the level shifts only apply in the content you won't be playing.

On a side note, if you can find yourself able to get along with other people for 30-40 minutes, you can get these things much, much faster. The first few times you run it you may feel it's overly difficult, but they get much easier with practice. A LOT easier.

It's never been said the serum gives you what you want. No one's ever been shown to wish/want the power and get it. Wouldn't anyone getting follow up shots be wishing for more powers? It's ok to call it an inconsistency when it goes against anything previously established in the show. Why defend it?

Look, the complaints I made weren't nit-picky bull **** complaints. It's just very bad story telling. What's more, it's not usual for the show. Rushed endings happen, but they could have killed Dr. King in a number of ways that didn't completely break away from show continuity.

    Quote:
Public reveal and Jim attacked a cop and would have then been swarmed by cops.
Except you don't know if the guy in the car was a cop. He wasn't in uniform, and we hadn't seen him before. Also, he was in a car with a sniper rifle. And if you can assume people we're going to "swarm him," (which from the scene we didn't see anyone making a run at him) then you can assume he'd leap away after revealing himself. And why would the media (or anyone) go on a manhunt because Jim saved a man's life? Surely it would have come out that was what he was doing. You have to make A LOT of iffy assumptions to make any of the conclusions you've come to.

Why wouldn't the agency that knows about them already be the one to come bring them in. If they're that privileged to know about them (which has never been alluded to) wouldn't you more than likely be able to claim jurisdiction over any other government group that is hunting them down that doesn't know about them? And then, of course, you have to ask why the whole family is hunted down when only Jim was the one to reveal his power?

Sorry, there's just to much of a mess from the two situations to just wave your hand with an explanation as contrived as the season finale was. If this was Smallville, I'd accept this as the norm (not that it makes things any better), but the show's been too consistent for the carelessness the finale had.

As for the government trying to asking to recruit them on one hand and hunting them on the other hand, there's a big difference between the government's rection from learning about superbeings, and the government's reaction of the public learning about superbeings. In the future world, the government was still trying to recruit them as weapons, but with the public knowledge of the Powells, they just didn't have to be so nice about it.
    [nerdrage]
Eh, if that's how you want to shore up the lack of writing for the show, go ahead. But it's just fanwanking as far as I'm concerned. When you establish how things work and then change it later so you can do whatever you want, it's just bad writing.

Everyone else who got an injection always got cured/healed. He's the one exception, and it's really for no other reason than they wanted to write him out of the show and couldn't think of a better way. Stephanie had a deadly infection, one person was a paraplegic, another was on his deathbed. You didn't see Joshua almost die from whatever must have been killing him before, he almost died from withdrawal. Did Daphne's BF's dad lose his legs again? If so, no one's talking about it. Did Stephanie show any signs of getting her seriously lethal infection back? Nope.

Then there's the fact that Joshua's powers faded out slowly. Dr. King loses all his powers at once and gets super cancer? It doesn't fit the established way things work, and it's just ridiculous. Same goes for criminals walking out of the crash with powers already. The Powell family didn't notice powers until they got back home. The doesn't fit the established way for receiving permanent powers.

If you have to assume Dr. King just had "a selection of powers" to choose injections for, then you're making a huge jump. It's never been shown you can designate a power someone gets, just that each person reacts differently to the serum. You're also doing the work for the writers if you have to make those kinds of assumptions.

The government reacting to public awareness and top secret information wouldn't be so drastic. If they wanted to keep the family hush-hush, they wouldn't have mentioned that they might consider the family a threat in the time travel encounter. Sure, to the public they might say one thing, but to the family that they already know about? It doesn't fly. Besides if the public knew about the Powell's, then there'd also be an uproar for their human rights. You might say there wouldn't, but has there ever been 100% agreement in those kinds of political matters? Especially in a case where the super powered person was revealed because they were saving a life. In private, without the public eye watching, the government wouldn't have to worry about "being nice" like they were in the finale.
    [/nerdrage]

Look, I like the show. I really do. But the writing for the finale isn't anywhere near the quality of the rest of the season. Sure, it's a super hero show, and so certain things like physics can go out the window on occasion, but when you establish a rule of how things work, that can't be discarded.
  20. I enjoyed the series. I did find Jim's inability to hide his face a little bothersome, but he usually did super-acts with few people around, so I gave it a pass.

I didn't realize the other night was a season finale (it seemed like one, but they never let on in that it was). I have to say, it was the worst episode of the season. Too many things felt rushed and conveniently made up on the spot.

First, Dr. King goes from not being able to "not die", to suddenly having the whole family's powers by getting an extra injection. This made no sense with everything done on the show up to this point. When Stephanie received a shot, her power increased, she didn't exactly get new powers. And she certainly didn't get multiple new powers. It felt like a contrived way to add suspense.

Second, when Dr. King gets injected with the cure, his cancer comes back at an accelerated rate?? It makes no sense. If that's the case, then why didn't Joshua get his ailment back when he was cured (which took a much longer time to happen than with Dr. King)? It was mentioned his life was saved from receiving the injections, so whatever was causing him problems should have come back.

Third, the government shows up to ask for the family's help. Sounds nice and all, except that Stephanie saw a future in which Jim inadvertently exposed his powers and the government hunted them down to ultimately decide whether they should be killed or used as government property. This future was avoided, but suddenly we see that the government must have known about them all along?

If the show does come back, I'm concerned it's going to get the Hero's treatment. Great first season, then a complete mess after that.
  21. Well, if you're dead set on WP, I'd suggest Axe. The KB from the set would buy you plenty of time to regen any damage you've taken. Now, if you're still open to other primaries, I'd second ELA. Good resist numbers and +HP bonuses can do a lot to "stack" onto that. In fact, ELA/Stone is a very good combo.

As for Energy Melee. I used to enjoy the set, but since its nerf it's felt very subpar. I've shleved my toons with it until it gets some love.

Considering target caps are in effect, aggro caps being raised would do nothing towards bringing back the borkedness of the "good-ol' days." I'm pretty sure I mentioned something about balance needing to be considered if it were raised.

I do that already, but I'd like something like the OP suggested. Having the window pop up in the middle of the screen middle battle is a bit awkward. Especially with all the screen realestate being reduced from the new league window. With that, combat attributes, chat, powertrays, navigation, target, team windows and who knows what else anyone might like to have, eventually one needs the simplicity of bars.
