Wow, great news Tony. Hope your recovery is speedy and pain-free as possible.

Quote:A Punisher Tea Set I suspect would sell well, because it's so bizarre it's brilliant.I assume it's the fundamental disconnect between what Wonder Woman is supposed to represent versus what she's actually representing in this ad campaign. WW was always more concerned about fighting for her ideals than making herself attractive to men. Her whole message is about female empowerment.
Linking her to a cosmetics line, with its implicit goal of becoming more attractive to men, just seems wrong. I think that sporting/exercise equipment would be more in line with the whole Wonder Woman concept. This seems as misguided to me as a Punisher Tea Set.
But back to the topic in hand -- girls like to wear make-up. It's that simple. And if girls like to wear make-up, there's no reason they shouldn't wear make-up that came from a container merchandised with a great character like Wonder Woman. Because sadly, right now there is no Wonder Woman TV show, no Wonder Woman movie, and no Wonder Woman cartoon. Wonder Woman probably has very little Q-rating with pre-teen girls. I'd like more girls to be interested in Wonder Woman. This make-up line will likely do little to aliviate that problem, but it's better than nothing. -
My first five:
Ill/Emp Controller: Still a fun swiss-army-knife of a character. Does more damage thanks to containment, never was much of an AoE Troller, so wasn't hit too bad by the AoE nerf.
Nrg/Devices Blaster: Not fared so well, Nrg still has the "OMG KB!" stigma, and Devices still has the "No Build-Up" stigma.
Dark/Rad Defender: Playing experience improved with greater recognition among the playerbase as to what Dark/ can do for a team. Another fun swiss-army-knife of capabilities.
Stone/Mace Tanker: The improvements to Warmace by themselves make this character go from being kind of a chore to being a lot of fun. IOs help counterbalance a lot of the drawbacks.
Grav/Storm Controller: Storm seems to get recognized now as a better powerset than a lot of people used to give it. Wormhole and Propel are still two of the most fun powers in the game, and the animation time buff to Propel usually makes it worth using. -
This is a wishlist, not a what-will-probably-happen list.

Yeah... I don't see the problem with this.

1. Cross-server teaming (and PvP).
2. Backpacks/jetpacks.
3. Base love. I'll take anything at this point. Go nuts, Devs.
4. Level 20-40 Praetorian content.
5. One hero zone revamp. -

Who are you fighting? Are you taking down or neutralizing mezzers first? Are you staying at range where melee mezzers have a harder time getting to you? Do you have Combat Jumping to keep from being Immobilized?
I play "squishes" solo, and good tactics are the best way to avoid mezzing. And of course, a healthy amount of Break Frees and Lucks. -
Virgil Tarikoss once tricked an arsonist into putting out a fire. He's like that.

Does anyone here even LIKE comic books? -
Glad to see they're continuing the tradition of having Spider-Man without his mask on in public.
Otherwise, costume looks fine. -
Quote:Arkham Redemption.Now see, why couldn't they have added a big ol' neon sign in the beginning stating "This is an alternate reality. Don't panic." and then a calm silky voice a la Morgan Freeman explains all I need to know.
I'm not sure if that was supposed to be a question or a statement. I got lost thinking about Morgan Freeman's voice. -
Quote:My VG's all-AR/Traps corrupter team is ridiculously fun (and good).And I can do one better- I'm in a group that's running a bunch of corruptors that only took Assault Rifle as their primary; aka the "Gunbunnies". Secondaries vary all over the place. There's about a dozen players involved; most of them are currently lvl 25 to 31. Seem to pretty much blow through everything.

Quote:I'm not sure. Definitely at the start of the fight. I don't think I've ever seen him go invincible after that.1.) The guns that ground him. exactly when should they be used? by how many people? how many times (only what 10 charges)?
Quote:2.) Took forever to get him to 25% hp. i think i know why...you'll see below
3.) at 25% hp, he kept popping Unstoppable. I think we finally gave up after he hit it for his 12th time.
Of course, ideally you'd have at least a couple top-notch debuffers on your team, and at least a couple of characters that do Psionic damage. A Sonic is really nice for this TF because of their -DamRes and [Clarity]. -
Blue CoP:
@k26dp - Physics Lass, Grav/Storm Controller
@MrsMartian - Royal Violet, Fire/Emp Controller
Red CoP:
@k26dp - Molm Reindar, Claws/WP Scrapper -
Quote:And for what it's worth, the special was written by Marv Wolfman, not Geoff Johns. So if you have problems with it being inconsistent with Crisis... well, the irony would be delicious.Point taken, sir. I haven't been able to find it to read it, and I will happily post any change in opinion should I be able to. I'm opinionated, but I'm not ignorantly opinionated.
S.
Personally, I really don't have a problem with it, but I get why you would. I don't know if it's "bad writing" or "it's not your cup of tea". Maybe somewhere in between. I'm generally a Geoff Johns fan, but don't count Infinite Crisis as one of he best works, though parts are very entertaining. -
Quote:Kole was the name of the Titan that was created specifically to die in Crisis.I agree with you except that I understand Prime was created before the Crisis..perhaps a year. I don't know his genesis in that regard, but I do know one of the Teen Titans at the time was designed to be killed off as Wolfman and Perez didn't want to lose one of their core characters. I also think Prime was symbolic of the memory of the old Superboy stories. That's just speculation on my part, however.
With DC wanting to do away with *all* of the multiple Earths, the tricky question was what to do about Earth-Prime, which was supposed to be *our* Earth. Superboy-Prime was created to root Earth-Prime as a fictional Earth just as much as Earth-2, Earth-S, etc. He was introduced in DC Comics Presents #87, almost simultaneously with his inclusion in Crisis.
BTW, if you like the idea of Superboy-Prime, but don't care for Infinite Crisis, you should read Kurt Busiek's "Superman: Secret Identity" (pencils by Stuart Immonen), which is a stand-alone, non-canon take on the idea of Superboy-Prime without Crisis. It's one of my favorite Superman stories ever.
BTW, regarding Kal-L's personality change -- my take is that with reality shifting and changing from out from under him while he stands alone outside of the change but able to observe it causes the idea that the resulting "post-Crisis" universe is not *real*. And if he operates with the knowledge that his actions will essentially be "retconned" if he is successful, then why not do anything and everything to ensure that desired end.
By the end of Infinite Crisis through, Kal-L is convinced of the essential "realness" of post-Crisis/New Earth, thanks to the intervention of pre-Crisis Wonder Woman. Superboy-Prime never does, because he doesn't have that connection, that backstory. He's an empty vessel. Johns' meta-commentary either makes this all work for you or it doesn't. -
Superboy-Prime and Alexander Luthor, Jr. were made specifically for Crisis, were essentially created to be shunted off, so I consider them cyphers than can be used for however DC feels like using them. And I can buy that Luthor being a conduit for Darkseid at the end of Crisis could have twisted him going forward.
Earth-2 Superman and Earth-2 Lois probably deserved to be left out of the whole thing. -
Merry Christmas Guardian!
Hope Santa puts lots of shards in your stocking.
