  1. I *may* have a fourth go at playing CoV.

I don't have alt-itis, I have 50-itis. Each of my heroes have to get to 50 before I roll another. But I have 3 Villains in their mid-teens, just sitting there, haunting me.

Just can't get into the Red-side stuff. Love the environment, love the ATs, just don't like being a Villain. *shrug*
  2. Had this happen SIX TIMES in TWO DAYS this weekend.

FYI I found I got the speediest response/resolution if I put the NAME of the mish, and who gave it (Radios for me) in the body of your Petition, and selected the "Stuck" button rather than the default "General" button.

What really sucked was I dropped/canceled one, then it happened again so I couldn't cancel it 'cause I had reached my "limit", so HAD to wait for a GM to fix it before I could run ANY Radio mishes in ANY zone.

Not a real biggie, used the time to clear a couple Fed-Ex mish I had lying around taking up space on my mish list.
  3. Looks like your team now has tiny numbers next to the names in the Team window. Beats having to count how many players left/you need to add between mishes while leading a PuG.

And "Mace in the Hole" is my first tank so I dunno if this is new or not - but my True Grit is set to auto-fire - and it will only auto-fire if there are baddies nearby. Won't just keep firing & firing while standing around in WW.

Is this true for ALL powers set to Auto-fire?

Probably not Hasten, as you would want that firing all the time, not just in combat, but others?

    It TOTALLY SUCKS!

Tried restarting 4 times so far.

Apparently it is happening to people not on the TF also.
Just happened to me and I'm hearing it from others all over the place.

Taking my team street sweeping for now.

These claims have not been evaluated by the FDA. If you experience painful swelling or redness, see your doctor immediately. Do not operate heavy machinery while under the influence of re-logging. Do not drive while re-logging until you know how it may affect you. Please consult your physician before embarking on any rigorous zoning or re-logging activities.

This is a waste of my time.

Account wide bank allows for the following:
I place recipes in bank and continue playing. When I get around to it, I log on character 2 and hit bank. Get recipes. No other player involved. As it SHOULD be.

I'm all for a Bank, but with all due respect Billz, I don't see Method #2 saving you THAT much time or effort over Method #1.

Again, I'm all for a Bank, but I tell you what, after using complete strangers to help me transfer inf maybe a dozen times, I've:

    1) Never been turned down,
    2) Never been ripped off,
    3) Made new Friends, and
    4) Helped a dozen lowbies pocket some start-up Inf.

I hand out Inf to (low-Vet-badged) lowbies all the time, I don't see it as any skin off my nose to do so. Working an Inf transfer into the bargain isn't a big deal.

In fact all lowbies I've asked so far have jumped at the opportunity to get a leg up on the Inf account, and expressed gratitude for having chosen them to help.

One last time, I'm all for a Bank.

But using Lowbie strangers to help you transfer can be fun and profitable in many ways, on both sides of the transaction.

I've got a tank and a blaster on Freedom and a scrapper and blaster on Liberty. The differences between the two are night and day. Freedom is full of kids and you can get on a team while walking across the street sans LFT shouting. Liberty, everyone is nice, no one broadcast spams, teams last longer than 40 minutes.
    Ah, nostalgia... *wipes tear*

I transfered most of my heroes from Liberty to Freedom about a year ago because I really like running in big teams ALL-THE-TIME.

But sometimes I do indeed miss the much more mature, laid-back, idiot-free atmosphere on Liberty.

    Hi guys! /e wave
    Miss you! /e grief

We've all run into this at some point, but last night my team did a radio mish "Stop the Jewelry store heist".

Cleared the mish (it's a VERY VERY VERY small map), and didn't get the Mish Complete message. Everyone Exits, reset, try again, and again, cleared the mish but couldn't Complete it.

    Filed a Petition.

Wondering if this is a new bug?

Maybe plug in "number of toons" and "average level" somewhere. Also pi should be in there along with a few other fancy squiggly lines to make it look legit.

Yah I gave up a long time ago trying to definitively categorize just about anything in this life.

It's all a spectrum, it's all a sliding scale. There will be varying degrees of casual and hardcore and that's that.

Trying to "define" or "profile" anything outside of mathematical problems is just a waste of time and energy.
  9. Okay guys - for YEARS I've been waiting for someone to work this out and give us all a final answer one way or the other.

Any progress? Is somebody working on this? I have fruitcake for the first one to come up with hard evidence.

  11. I attribute *graphics* "lag" to the fact that not everyone is playing on a state-of-the-art PC.

If I'm on a team of 8, getting serious lag...but the previous night I was on a team of 8 getting NO lag, I assume someone on this team has a less-than-bleeding-edge PC and my framerate has to suffer a bit so we all stay in synch.

And it CAN BE annoying, but I've often BEEN the one with the sub-par PC (even if I'm not at the moment), so I try to have a heart and not get too bent out of shape about it.
  12. You pop quiz teammates after someone drops a "will the real xxx please stand up?" reference.

Me: Don't suppose anyone's old enough to remember where that saying originated?

    YoungGamer: I do! I do!

    Me: and?

    YoungGamer: The Eminem song!

    Me: e/ facedesk

    Wrong.

I'm firmly on the "teaming's not dead" side of the debate, but I HAVE noticed fewer and fewer people using the LFT flag. I began noticing it with the birth of AE, and expected it to turn back around post-i16, but haven't seen that so far.

I form teams EVERY time I'm on, I LIKE the star *gasp*, and modesty aside I run very fun teams (get positive comments pretty much all the time).

But let's see if we can't edumacate the masses on the utility of the flags, I'm seeing fewer and fewer people bothering, and it really DOES make things easier when LFM.

If "fun" is on your list of criteria - I'll second Ill/Storm. But you really should KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING if you roll one - it's very complex and easily played to the detriment of good team-oriented play, if done incorrectly.

But with a handful of 50s under my belt and a number of alts running, my Ill/Storm is EASILY, FAR AND AWAY my favorite hero of all time, play-wise.

As everyone has already suggested, go surf the Controller forums or look at the Player Guides section and read up on some of the various troller builds there.

I don't have the xp per hour as I'm not running Herostats unitl they have stable version out for update. I'll revisit it again once I can run Herostats.

Just to say that I've wondered about this phenomenon since practically Day 1 of play.

Difficult to believe some of the "real-numbers" freaks haven't tested this yet.

But if someone smarter/more dedicated than I could really crunch these numbers and come up with a definitive answer, I (and presumably many others) would really appreciate it.

Personally, I like playing +0 because it makes me feel more "super" to be able to plow thru baddies like nobody's business, but I keep my settings at +1 (lower levels), +2 (mid levels), and +3 (high levels) because I lead PuGs a lot, and think teams like to feel moderately challenged, rather than just grabbin' teh e-z xps.

i.e. If there's no chance of "losing", it's just not a "game", is it?

Hey just FYI I've already contacted Support about this, but I was charged twice for a character transfer on Sept. 22.

Not saying this has to do with the "Problems with the In-Game Store", but I'd recommend checking your bank statement if you've done anything game-related involving real money recently.
  18. Wait now I wanna read this article - Imma need to buy the mag or is it up online somewhere pls?
  19. You'll have a better chance of finding help for this kind of issue on the Technical Issues & Bugs board.

Be sure to read their Guidelines about posting Hijack This and CoH Helper logs if you really want their help.

I recently paid to Transfer from Liberty to Freedom 'cause I like forming 8-man Pick-up Groups every time I log in, and Freedom (had) the highest pop at the time.

And sure it's easy to form teams on Freedom, but sometimes I miss the more mature, intelligent, informed pop from Liberty.

So by all means "dip your toe" in a few of the more noteworthy servers and see how you like the "temperature" of each.

As I was reading through Sapphire's post, it occured to me that I've not had ONE SINGLE negative experience with this game (other than some frustration after buying a new video card - nothing on CoH-side) in 4+ years of play.

That includes not just gaming, but forum-lurking, customer service issues, GM issues, etc. It's all been wonderful, start-to-finish.

Hear, hear on Sapphire's post, I'm with you 100%. Love the game, love the community and behind-the-scenes people just as much, if not more.

I get off work at 12m ET every night. Home by 1am. Logged onto Freedom by 1:15am.

Form 8-man PuGs (of varying success) EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT.

All you need is a *polite, literate* bind like: /bind L "tell $target, Level $level-ish team LFM - join us?" and some basic leadership skills.

Takes maybe 5 mins (post-i16) to put together a team like this.

((funny story, my first night on, post-i16, I started sending Tell invites - I usually don't pay much attention to AT on the first pass, just take what I can get and fill in the blanks on subsequent passes. So I Tell/Invite 3 Tanks on my first pass, not expecting them all to Accept.

All 3 Accepted! And we were stuck with lotsa meat-shield but little control or heals until someone dropped team.

But I thought it was indicative of the overall effect of i16 to have such a robust response right out of the gate.))

I have a bunch of 50s and far and away I had the most fun leveling that Ill/Storm.

Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't yet put those two sets together.
