Electric Melee has a nice teleport power as well (tier 9, Lightning Rod). In fact, it's a lot more flashy than Shield Charge. I have no idea how well /Elec works on a Tanker, but it's an option to consider. It might be nice to have some zoooom-zap to go with your zoooom-pow. 
Electric Melee is now available for Tanks, so that'll be the Lightning Rod power.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
My Mace/Shield Brute is a ton of fun. Here's hoping the lack of Fury doesn't bum you out too much Damage Wise. However Against all Odds and Build Up should give you a decent leg up over other Tanker combos. I recommend making sure to slot end reduction in your attacks, since Mace can be a bit end heavy.
Mace does a great job capturing a very similar feel to what you're looking for in Shield Charge. WHAM CRAK THWOMP! heavy sounds and heavy feeling impacts. Fun Stuff.

The very first time I saw shield charge in action it was pretty much a windup, a bit of a blur and a mob flying everywhere. Sounds a lot like what the OP was looking for. I agree it could be a bit flashier but it ain't half bad the way it is.

So jump into a large group, wait a moment for AAO to kick in (watch your damage bonus rise), then hit Build Up and KA_POW!, Shield Charge. This leaves the minions dead or with just a sliver of life left, the Lts are seriously hurting and even the bosses know they've been nudged.
I have Shield Charge on about a 35 second recharge now, so lovely.

I got a shield/elec tank at 41 now, and the fun of sc one mob, lr the next, is something to appreciate. Just hang on to your grahics card, its a wild ride.
I don't have any Tanks and am considering rolling one, I would like to have one with the power where you Zoooom into the middle of the mob and they all go PAMF!!!
You know which one I'm talkin' about? What's it called please and which powerset do I need? And if it's a Primary power, wanna recommend a good Secondary to pair with it?
