  1. Yes it works. Yes I do it on all my characters with tactics-equivalents. The BU bonus is too unreliable to count on, but vector defense characters like Night Widows appreciate the 2.5% def bonuses for six slotting Gaussian's and it does buff the power it's in nicely.
  2. Mostly build compliments are the results of ascanning the power tab under /info and looking at power picks and set bonuses. Generally the people with sixty line blocks of set bonuses will have pretty good builds.

also had trouble with contacting people, when i chat with someone, it didn't came up in my chat window somehow. anyway, i am gonna use up my trial period and then i make a descision if i gonna keep playing the game.

My first suggestion is to make sure they're not trying to contact you on a chat channel that's forbidden to trial accounts. I forget the exact list trials can/can't use (and it sucks hard I KNOW, but you can blame the goldsellers who'd spam tells and emails to people 1500 times a day for those limits). If it's not a forbidden channel, right click on your chat box's tab that says "chat" and select the edit option. Make sure the channel they're talking to you on is in the LEFT column. Left column appears in that chat window tab, the right column DOES NOT. As an added note, you can make as many NEW chat tabs as you like by right clicking on the chat window and selecting the "create new tab" option. That'll let you put whatever channels you want in that new tab, which makes it a bit easier to keep track of things when youv'e got a lot of them you want/need to monitor but don't want the clutter of keeping them all in default chat.

EDIT: Damn I suck at typing. I type all that out and at least 3 people beat me to it.

fair enough. just make sure, when you start shootin [censored] with your energy attacks that you have your target up against a wall and not getting knocked into other groups that will aggro and wipe your team.

Um, Grav's holds do -10k% knock each, according to City of Data so once those open up you won't be QUITE so annoying.
  5. I don't believe nobody's done this yet, but in a vaccum wouldn't robots or zombies be best because they don't explosively decompress and die?
  6. With the caveat that they can be disabled under options as Xaphan mentioned, I'd sign this. The filmmaker in me enjoys the use of filters to accentuate storytelling. Heh, if I could alter filters used based on part of the map or give them trigger effects (kill boss, etc.) I'd be all over the AE again like white on rice.
  7. Health. As you mentioned, the Numi +heal would give you the 2-slot extra 12% +regen, and the healing mods placed into Health if you slot the Numi there boost its 20% +regen stat as well. Not entirely sure why that is, but it's not only boosting health, giving 2 slot +12% regen, and the stamina bonus, but you're also getting (with a level 50 and nothing else but the two numis) 28% and change +regen from the mods to the unique's +regen buff.
  8. I'd /sign that. My only concern would be PvP, since an "invisible skin" character would effectively be gaining the benefits of the Stealth pool against other humans if the character cut down to minimal clothing for a PvP zone costume. If a character was flying/SJing/etc. around wearing nothing more than the minimal loincloth/briefs outfit in white or another pale color they'd be almost impossible to see and thus target I'd think.

Fix that concern (not that I care about PvP problems) and I'll /sign this.
  9. Ran my first time through the villain SF a couple hours earlier. Had a minimum size team (4 people) of a thug/dark, a fire/kin corr, and a fire/dark corr, plus my night widow. We had about six deaths, but crushed the SF utterly in about an hour and a half with everybody stopping to read the clues and the leader being awesome enough to type the "talk to X" dialog screens into team chat for us.

While the team was pretty good, the SF itself seemed very... understated, I suppose. The Reichsman was aside from his BS maneuver(s) in the very final fight when you got him to low HP a total pushover and I've had harder challenges off of custom mission AVs.

The story was pretty cool, but honestly it felt more like a story arc than a proper SF. *shrug* Not that I didn't wenjoy it, I was kind of expecting more though. As side notes, Barracuda felt really off character. Barracuda was written like a gangster's moll looking to get ahead, and based on her few previous exposures in the canon stories that was very off putting. Her prior roles seemed to classify her as more the "I don't have anything against you personally, I just want to stop being a bloody fish girl" vibe, and in the SF she seemed to have lost that, becoming more "Yeah, so I'm a fish. BFD. Let's make some money!" I thought that was a real letdown.

    Brute or Tanker

Brute every time. I love Fury and the escalating can of buttkicking it opens.
  11. First character created a couple days after City was first released in 2004, hit 50 early August 2004. Three, four months or so.

    The Freaklympics

    [ QUOTE ]
The very first one I played years ago that made a big impact on me was Ubelman (sp?). I had just crossed over from WoW and I was so impressed with the quality of the story telling in this game.

Can anyone tell me the name of that arc?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ubelmann the Unknown.
  13. I ended up using a custom group with 3/3/1 minion/lt/boss ratio in my Pentarchy of Punishment arc. They're all thematic, and despite it being a somewhat wordy 4 mission arc I managed to squeeze those 7 custom mobs plus 5 more EBs for a second custom faction into approx. 100% space. I say approximately because the actual size used fluctuates from 99% to 101% depending when I load it.
  14. Steadfast def unique, the PvP res set unique, the Steadfast KB IO, the Aegis and Impervium psi/mez specials could be interpreted as procs. Were one y'know, inclined that way.
  15. Soulbound only works on the pets, gaussian's chance for... only affects the powers' caster, i.e. you.
  16. One of my friends has been doing content in that same vein for our characters and one of her alts' SG. Not to the best of my knowledge unpublishing afterwards, but I doubt the playerbase at large would have the slightest clue what's goin' on.

    Play a Rikti

    [ QUOTE ]
If we ever get rikti as a playable EAT, I want there to be a rikti monkey mastermind, with HORDES of monkeys to command. Not just 6.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm... Spawns tend to count 3 monkeys as a minion-equivalent, so a Rikti mastermind would get 9 monkeys for his tier-1 minions. I seem to recall a Lieutenant being roughly equivalent in spawns to 2 minions, so there's 6 more monkeys per LT-grade minion (of which MMs get two), and bosses are as I recall equivalent to an LT and a minion. In this case, that's 9 MORE monkeys for a boss pet in this MM-equivalent, or THIRTY(30) little psi-throwing mutant fetuses for a full Rikti Monkey Mastermind.

    Hasten?

It's nice, but if you do heavy IO slotting it's not required. It does make it easier to perma Mind Link on night widows and forts, but the Widows with again IO slotting can do without.
  19. Redraw's a pain, but I'd recommend finding Aisynia's Huntsman guide if you really have a desire to pursue the hybrid option.
  20. The Numi and Miracle Uniques are both Pool C, and so available with Gold rolls.
  21. I love the idea of more shoulder options. /signed.
  22. I don't like or use steam, but then I also already own CoX, so what difference does it make to me?

Glad to hear this awesome game's getting more and more out there in the public eye though, you guys totally deserve it. Keep up the awesome!
  23. I've got a three mission arc, broad strokes is Malta's up to no good and you have to stop them. There's a custom EB in the third mission, not a "challenge" EB but still respectable. I also included an ally optional rescue in the EB mission to hep with the boss.

Arc number's 100483, title is "a precious gift..."

I'll try matchstick women after work tomorrow.
  24. My hearing's fine, but I /sign this with every fiber of my being. Deaf people deserve to have glowie assistance that's as useful to them as the audio cues are to those of us who can hear.
