Mix/matching attacks from Wolf and Bane sets?

I'm working on a VEAT, to be a Bane Spider eventually. Looking at the powers available, I seem to like the ranged rifle attacks from the Wolf Spider and the mace melee attacks from the Bane Spider.

Is there a major issue with going this direction, or does redraw on both weapons tend to cause problems when switching from attack set to attack set?

Redraw's a pain, but I'd recommend finding Aisynia's Huntsman guide if you really have a desire to pursue the hybrid option.

It's perfectly doable but most would advise against it. All that redraw can slow you down a bit and you might find it rather annoying. Plus, the various Mace Beams provide the more exotic mix of Energy damage and Toxic DoT as opposed to the rifle's purely Lethal damage.

That aside, it's not unheard of. If you wanna do it, go for it. It really won't hurt your performance too much.

The venom grenade from the wolf line is worth it, even with the redraw. I never found use for the others though.

It's certainly doable. Just arrange matters so that you fire off all your ranged attacks together and/or your melee attacks, in sequence, without hopping around between them. It just takes practice and not too much of that.

And Venom Grenade is a very nice power.

Even Build Up and Placate draw the mace, incidentally.

The redraw is ok. The only problem on Bane is that Bane is already so slow. It just feels even more slower when you shoot and then switch to mace. Venom Grenade is definitely worth it.

My Crab took Burst from Wolf line and it doesn't bother me at all since it shoots faster than Long Fang I think. Both deal the same lethal damage.

I guess you can try taking Bayonet if you want or even Pummel. Pummel has good stun in it and it's only 4s recharge.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Eh no. IMO Do NOT take Pummel or Bayonet if you go Wolf/Bane, or as I call my VEAT, Bane With A Gun. I tried the Huntsman, and found something was missing.

Massive striking-from-the-shadows Executioner's Strikes to be specific.

I ended up with: all the melee attacks, Mace Beam, Poisonous Ray, Buildup and from the gun side Venom Grenade, Heavy Burst, and Frag Grenade. Not many of the VEAT Leaderships, though and yes I took TT:M, I'm not crazed.

Solo, I may fire off Buildup/gun attacks on small groups, then finish with mace; teamed, I may serve as fire support, or I might go for boss-killer with Executioner's Strike. I can switch back and forth depending on what else is on the team.

I say avoid both Pummel and Bayonet simply because, if you have the mace anyway... while Bayonet gets the benefit of Cloaked +dmg... it's nothing compared to Shatter. I also avoided the rifle single-target blasts because, well, MB and TR are good enough for me, and don't force a redraw.

Other than my present lack of Stamina making teams a bit dicy without a pocket kin, my Bane With A Gun pretty much rocks the house solo.

I do try to avoid switching back and forth too often, but with even one other AOE user (fire corr, crab, etc)... Buildup (even with shiny mace draw) + Gun attacks is VERY worth it.
