Quote:Interresting. Why don't Zombies work for being heroes?
No, I'm sure some people wouldn't like Uncle Bob being lifted the grave to fight crime, but if it comes down to stop the killer or let the killer murder someone because they didnt want to raise the dead, option 2 sounds better.
Just saying, all the MM primaries can be made to work for heroes if one just tries, even a little.
Not against new MM primaries though. However, I don't think using NPC groups is a good idea.
Somehow Zombies and Demons seem less than heroic. . . More evilly flavored, at least to me. But yes, a case could be made most any kind of pet. It seemed to me that a heroic "Commander" or "Leader" should have at least a few pet options that are purely heroic and the Masterminds should have a few that are purely villainous. Just my own observation though. Several posters have pointed out that any MM can crossover to the blue side, but the whole point of this is to be able to CREATE them as heroes from the start.
As for using the NPC groups, I have long wanted to see MORE player integration with the various NPC factions. EATs drawn from the NPC groups for example.
A villain Mastermind with Arachnos pets would rock, as would a heroic Commander with Longbow pets! -
I would like to see:
1 A Merit = 1 Empyrean Merit = 1 Notice of the Well.
Or something close to that. -
I would love to see heroic versions of the Masterminds. Call them "Commanders", "Leaders", "Sensi" or whatever. They could even have pets, (Call them followers for Heroes instead of pets) of their own unique flavor. Followers like PPD, Longbow, Wyvern or Mixed Martial Artists. Perhaps we could add some magically themed followers like "Student/Disciple" mages or accolytes. Robots, Mercs and Ninjas could be crossovers to work for both alignments, though the heroic versions should have alternate forms to the villain versions.

Quote:So you want a crossover with Guild Wars and fight in Cantha?
Never played Guild Wars so I have no clue about Cantha and that Wiki page really doesn't tell me much.
I was not suggesting raining on anyones culture, but no comicbook cultures are never going to be close to being correct or real. Can't happen really. Things have to be streamlined and melded for the sake of story and game play, otherwise we would simply be overwhelmed with meaningless details. Comicbook cultures just need flavor, not precision. I seriously doubt that melding multiple Asian concepts together would hurt in anyway and in fact would help to create something both familiar and unique. -

I would be perfectly happy with a generic "Ancient Asian" zone accessed though the Midnighters Club. Perhaps an amalgamed zone who's history has already been destroyed by whichever chosen evil badguy group. Heroes and Villians would be fighting cooperatively to make that reality remain alternate and prevent it from becoming our (Earth Paragon) own past.
Take a little bit of Japan, a little bit of China and a splash of Southeast Asia and mash it all together!
Praetorians might make great badguys for this one. -
I know we have jet/rocket boots, but what about Hermes winged boots? Brooms, boards and carpets would all rock as well.
-
I agree, sometimes during a laggy trial the FX can completely dominate everything, even when suppressed.
-
I would be perfectly happy having to pay inf or burn vet rewards at the tailor for each pets costume!
-
I am certainly ready for something new, preferably something that does not require a huge, lag inducing league. I would really like to see something(s) for small teams or even solo-able trial missions and arcs. I know thats it is coming, but not soon enough for me!
Leagues are sometimes fun, but all to often for me they are sad lag-fests. That and the fact that drops and rewards are unbalanced across the league usually make them less than fun. -
-
I have no objection to this, seems like a good idea to me!
-
Being able to put the surplus tickets in your personal vault might be cool.
-
Custom pets would rock, but for now I would rather see alternative forms and costumes for the current range of pets.
-
1 Empyrean Merit = 1 Notice of the Well = 1 Alignment Merit.
Seems like a very fair and balanced conversion in any direction to me. If you MUST have an influence component then it really shouldn't be too excessive. 50k - 100k Max in my opinion. -

And reverse, Emp to Notice! (Don't think they do now, if so I wasted a lot of time trying to build a notice!)
-
Trials have many issues that need to be resolved, this being one. Uneven/Random rewards being a major problem, people kicking butt getting shafted and slackers seemingly getting rewarded. The whole must League to get threads thing bugs me too as I prefer to solo or play on smaller teams. Leagues are often more likely suffer from bad lag and one or two people can screw things for everyone.

Interesting, but I am betting it would be annoying with all those bugs on the screen. Maybe not as annoying as the Fire FX but a swarm of bees might make lag even worse when it occurs!
Still though, a cool idea, just not sure (from my point of view) if it worth the effort.
