  5. I loved this movie, because it was at LEAST trying to be a LITTLE bit original. I am so fed up with Hollywood's "safe gambles" on remakes and sequels.
  6. Go-go-Gadget Comic Sans!

I could be down for this. Needs more clarification as to what the powers do though. As in, don't overlap other powers and don't upset pool power balance.

Using other pools as a template, this resembles Fighting, which would be ATK-ATK-TOG-TOG; However "Roar" sounds like "Invoke Panic" from Intimidation, which was mapped out differently.

I don't think you're going to get that combo of powers in a power pool without some kind of tradeoff.

Bite - Moderate ST damage, chance for DoT (Bleeding), Moderate recharge, 5 endurance
Feral Conditioning - Toggle, moderate jump, minor S/L resistance, and runspeed increase (Slightly better than ninja run plus resistance)
Bestial Rage - (Thanks to demon summoning) A full-on SuperSpeed/SuperJump hybrid power with quadruped animation. New travel power anyone? Though, our bipedal heroes would look RIDICULOUS using it...
Roar - PBAoE Knockdown, 6 foot radius, 12 endurance

That's what I'd do to make it look more tantalizing.

    Generic Rant

Completely backwards comment because I read one post 5 pages in and ranted about that, when the issue was already addressed, had I actually read on!
  8. I think this is prohibited by the ToHit clamp of 95% for a reason I can't remember, and not likely to change.

If you won the slot machines 100% of the time, you'd be bored, wouldn't you? I think this factors into risk vs. reward.

i appreciate the arrogance of your attitude in posting "i aked this 5years ago and still nothing whats the problem?" 5 years ago no Dev promised you or anyone else an increase in the level cap to 70, or anything past 50, and none has occurred, so obviously there is no problem.

Furthermore, i find your lack of apostrophes (and faith) disturbing.

So i now say unto you FNORD.

  10. Okay a little more brainpower.

    From Merriam-Webster:

    Crucible
3 : a place or situation in which concentrated forces interact to cause or influence change or development

    Hrmmmmm...

That's my conspiracy theory for today. Not going to try working with the Crucible at the moment.
  12. Ultimately the character will be parked at 35 - At 35, she'll have access to all the Hero TFs (Posi -> Numina) Plus Moonfire, Hess, Katie Hannon, and all the SFs up to Ice Mistral via Side Switching. All rolls will cap at 35 from that pool of merits, which I'm practically guaranteed good dough from.

But I *was* wondering whether 32, 33, or 35 was the optimal choice on rollin'. You all seem split on the answer, so I'mma wait till 35.

This is not your real-world's Rhode Island. This one is entirely fictional and "we" can do whatever we want with it.

This suggestion sort of goes along with the "All things art: Architecture" thread much better but I say ignore the snark responses. There is nothing wrong with wanting to see the cityscape of Paragon continuously improved to at least partly mimic real-world major US cities. That can certainly include professional sports stadiums complete with fictional teams for major American sports. I don't think the pvp arenas count. They don't quite have the look or feel that dedicated sports stadiums convey. Football, soccer, and baseball stadiums are all frequently open-air stadiums anyway.

Even if we didn't have professional sports stadiums EVERY city is going to have football, soccer, and baseball fields in addition to basketball courts, tennis courts and gymnasium buildings that are going to be near parks or high schools and universities. When you fly/jump/bleem/zip around the city it is the ABSENCE of these kinds of places that begin to make it feel not-quite-right, even if it is an enclosed security zone walled off from the rest of the city. Little details like occasionally seeing a movie marquee advertising a movie OTHER than Fractured Dawn starring Blue Steel, a sign for a hotel OTHER than the Geneva, a larger variety in skyscraper and apartment block designs, a variety in bridge, causeway and elevated roadway designs...

This is all stuff that ADDS to the game, makes it feel more like a real place where your characters live. It doesn't have to make you stop and go, "Ooh! Ahh!" when you first see it, you don't need to even be consciously registering that you're whizzing by another basketball court or fast-food drive-thru but NEVER seeing one detracts from the feel of the game zones as part of an actual city. Where ARE the drive-thrus, the delis, the Martinizing cleaners, gas stations, restaurants and RETAIL centers? Where's the heavy or actually backed-up traffic in Skyway City? Why doesn't traffic increase the way pedestrian traffic increases at certain "times of the day"? You may not NEED this kind of stuff to play CoX but the overall experience can definitely be improved by adding more of that kind of detail.
Scandal: A-Rod admits to Superadine use during his stay with the Yankees before becoming 3rd baseman for the Concrete Donkeys! When asked about his decision to go public with this, he had this to say:

"Me have body by superadine. Me feel guilty in morning. Also, horns make helmet fit bad."

He was going on and on about how Going Rogue will fail, how the developers don't know what they're doing and that current studio is using software development methodologies one step removed from card readers and vacuum tubes.

Having done some software development in my past (though not recently) and a fair amount of project management for software projects, I asked him how he knows this. Well apparently, this fellow is somewhat of a developer fanboy and obsessively follows tweets from BaBs, reads details from their blogs and scours the net in search of details of how the game is made. He also, according to a mutual acquaintance, works in hardware for some company and according to him "has lots of software developer friends who knows how things are done right!"

He and I ended with no conclusion to our little Internet squabble but it led me to this thought. While I have no idea exactly how this game is developed and published, I do know that this game is a commercial success in a field where there is significant competition. It's successful enough that the studio has grown from a mere 15 or 20 to about 80 developers. It's about to release it's second full expansion and it's 18th free update. Further, whereas many studios keep their fans/customers at arm's length, Paragon Studios goes out of its way to keep us intimately involved in many aspects of the game.

This doesn't mean that I agree with everything that the devs have done nor do I like every aspect of this game. But I like enough of it to keep paying a monthly sub, and I don't expect anything less than to be delighted with Going Rogue and issue 18. So, in sum, I trust that Paragon Studios will continue the same level of excellence that has kept me as a paying customer. I care not whether or not the servers are powered by hamsters and the developers design their models with etch-a-sketches. It's the finished product that counts, and it's generally been impressive for 6 years.
    *golf clap*

Well said. I echo the sentiment.
  18. I have 700+ merits on a blaster I've been routinely parking to get every story arc done before I outlevel it. It's been a real pain, but thats not the point. I'm curious as to what the general consensus is to roll these merits and potentially leave parked at - 32, 33, 35? And what level range should I roll for? 30-35?
  19. /signed in blood

    Good show, mac.

There was once a time that I PVPed in this game.

Then I brought my brute (Fire/Shield) into RV and never went back. What a colossal let-down. :/
