Quote:Last year, heroes and villains entering the same Lord Winter's Realm was a bug. It could be that they don't have it quite straightened out with the new alignment system.I have not verified it myself, but someone did say that they quit their team and tried to enter solo after getting kicked once.
I am also not sure of their alignment.
I had thought maybe it was a mixed team thing, but last year a group of heroes and vills could enter different portals and work together in the same instance.
I am going to go get a Hero and test trying to enter solo on a Hero from a Hero zone and see how that goes. -
Is this only happening to mixed teams?
I'd recommend taking note of your teams makeup like AT and alignment. -
Reposting my comment from the other thread.
Kombowz, do you have any Proc's slotted in Burn, or Hasten (if you have it,) or Toggles, or Inherents? Or Globals slotted? -
Quote:You're welcome, Kombowz.Thanx for the tip Red.
I was using a scrapper when this occured you are correct Largo
An Electric Melee / Fire Scrapper to be exact.
I will look for that section and note it there.
Thank you for your replies.

It had been doing in on my Fire/Fire Scrapper since Halloween. Before the i19 update I checked it on test and wasn't getting self-damaged. -
Quote:Hallmark tactic, confuse anything that summons and whatever they summon will also be confused. Rikti Comms that are confused will spawn confused portals, which will in turn spawn confused backup.I was able to solo Trapdoor without major issues this morning on an entirely different character who started the arc after the patch.
That character was an ill/emp controller, another character not really built for soloing at all. I used the character's basic strategy when I try to solo on her, which is to keep everything charmed. I was able to charm Trapdoor and keep him charmed. His regeneration was not off the table like it was in the previous attempt. He summoned a clone. I thought he would attack it, but he did not, and neither did I.
This looks to me more and more like a bug that arises when you had the mission before the patch and try to finish it afterwards. I will try dropping the arc and restarting and see if that helps.
Now, if the Bufercations are not adding to his regen while confused, I'd consider that a bug. -
First, you would /bug it on the character it is occurring on, then you would put the details in the Tech Issues & Bugs forum.
-
Never mentioned that I had trouble doing the mission. The fact that a great many play this game does not mean that they are required to play together. Some people solo because of schedule, because they want to, or for what ever reason they choose to do so.
-
If that's the cast they should just implement an auto-team function so that your character is assigned to a team as soon as you log on.

Quote:It would hardly be Paragon City or the Rogue Isles, or Praetoria City without, you know... a city. Thanks for the exact quote and here's my rebuttal:
If you don't include it since it adds nothing to gameplay, then why do you have a complete 3d city in the game that we run around in in the first place? The devs have gone out of their way to make the outdoor city environment itself inconsequential and almost effectively useless over the years. The only thing I can see the outdoor zones contributing to the game itself in any manner is the illusion of Paragon, the Rogue Isles and Praetoria being real locations. Sure, you can run around and fight enemies in the city zones but why?
Quote:No one wants to "street sweep" anymore.
Quote:It used to be fun to do that in the early days and it was often very common for teams to be seen keeping the streets of Paragon City safe. Now, almost every outdoor enemy is ignored unless the player needs Tips or a Defeat Badge.
Quote:The only gameplay reasons for having city zones now are 1. "Defeat ## <Enemy Type>" missions and collecting Defeat badges. For every other aspect of the game that I can think of, the city zones can be effectively and completely replaced by a simple background image and a menu, that's how inconsequential they are.
Quote:If weather doesn't add anything to the gameplay, then why have the day/night cycle? That's not contributing much gameplay value except for a few locations (only one that I can think of) that have time-sensitive NPC spawns whose only contribution to gameplay is the previously mentioned Defeat badge hunting.
Quote:With the gameplay contributions of the outdoor City Zones being almost entirely based on eye-candy and the illusionary aspects of us running around an actual city, then it a logical conclusion that adding weather effects would only IMPROVE their main gameplay functions in the game.
I, for one, have loved the winter effects added in the past and would love to see more of that kind of thing. Always running around in a world with 78 degree, early-summer weather that never has rain or any other weather is just weird. Overcast skies, cloudy skies, rain, snow, trees that change color and lose their leaves, etc. would make the outdoor zones more interesting.
I've come to enjoy playing around in Praetoria more than any other zones and I've figured out why. It looks more realistic than the Paragon City/Rogue Isles zones. It would be hard to modify the geography of the older zones to look more real but adding weather would go a long way to doing the same thing. -
Generally, the only crashing issue I have is when I spend more then 3hrs in the base editor.

Not that I use it much at all, but it'd be nice if they make this a 'New Year' tradition.

As for the merged Monorail system, raise you hand if you still drop n O-portal at the Talos station... to get to Atlas Park...

Oooh, just thought of one for use with Ice Slick, Oil Slick, and Freezing Rain type powers, as little good as it does the OP: "I made this for you with love. Love and floor wax." -
I /sign this every time it's suggested.

Quote:I guess that would make my confusing his clones an exploit, too.Drawing someone away from the source of their regenerative abilities, totally breaking the intent of the incounter. Some might call it an 'exploit'. Not me though, wouldn't dare.
And yes, running and shooting things is pointless and boring ... wait what?
Edit: And I've never pulled him from the room on any of my fights. -

Probably 60/40 Female/male. I'd probably have more male characters, but I hate the way they run.

Quote:I have to agree with you, Ironblade. So far my character's have not had much of an issue with Trapdoor. My Kin/Arch Defender... I dread that fight. Not because I won't be able to defeat him, but it's going to be a very boring fight. Plinking away at him with toothpicks in-between stuns and holds.ehh.....
This seems to be more and more of a trend lately. If the players are tackling a situation in a manner inconsistent with the devs' 'vision', then the encounter gets changed to force us to conform.
Personally, I don't see Trapdoor as a challenge and always just beat him down where he stands. But I don't like this change, since it reeks of the devs telling us how to play. We used to get a lot of that and I'm not happy to see it returning. -
I'm pretty sure this had nothing to do with PvP, but with Freakshow and was changed somewhere around i16.
