Oh well. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what I get at 42 months.
I still love the idea of vet rewards and have enjoyed most of the past ones. Not all rewards will be liked by everyone, and that's understandable.
I'd still like to thank the Devs for making the vet rewards, even though this is one I won't use, the reward program is really cool to have. -
Yes...I like PvP in general when gaming.
But...I don't play pvp in CoX much. Something about it here just doesn't feel right. I'm also having too much fun just playing PvE. -
I don't think any AT sucks really. It's just that not every AT is for everyone. Players have different play styles and prefer certain ATs over another.
One player may love Doms and another may hate them due to different playstyles and what they are looking for in a game.
Some people play by the numbers for maximum efficiency and think that is the only important factor in an AT. Other play for the fun of roleplaying a concept and think that's what's important. I think most of us are somewhere in the middle.
I haven't found an AT yet that I didn't like. But I have found some that I prefer over others.
I've got multiple heroes and villains of all ATs. I like them all. As to which one I prefer playing depends upon the mood I'm in. -
My wife and I play. We've met a lot of couples in game. There are also quite a few SGs around that are couple oriented I think.
We've played online together in EQ1, WW2Online, DAoC, and some others; but CoH/V is the only one we've played consistently since CoH beta.
It really is a blessing having a wife, GF, BF, husband, or um....other that games with you. -

In who's dimension and timeline? Evidentally not the one City of Heroes is in.
It's a game. Not everything is based upon fact. For instance (and this might be a shock to some) people can't really shoot fireballs from their hands. -
My lower level heroes have won several million inf from contests.
While there may be some jokers out there messing with people with fake contests, the majority of them are real.
There are some nice people playing who like to share their wealth. The contests are a fun way to do it. -

I like the old series better. So far, I don't like the new one at all. I stopped reading the second issue halfway through. It just couldn't keep my interest.

Wow.. I have ADD and I had no problem reading the whole thing.
You, sir, have some major issues. Maybe you should go see a doctor?
[/ QUOTE ]
ROFLMAO sorry, but that just made me laugh.
Have issues due to not being interested in a comic. LOL -
[ QUOTE ]
OK I've been debating saying this, but I might as well.
I am not a fan of the new comic. The story feels extremely rushed to me. Within several pages of issue 1 they took 2 main concepts of CoH (Super Powers & the hospital teleports) & completely turned them on their ears. Then by Issue 2, we've (((SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER))) learned Statesman's origin & gone to another plane of perception to speak to Prometheus to restore everyone's powers. That coupled with the fact that not-one of the heroes is likeable in my opinion or has had any type of substantial development, renders this comic very sub-par so far.
I'll keep reading it since, well, it's like free and stuff (hehe), but I really hope it gets better cause I've been very disappointed so far.
Am I the only one that isn't digging it?
Thanks,

The Statesman has stated, recently, that everything in CoH should be soloable for every AT. (no matter how long it could take)
So the OP has a good point.
[/ QUOTE ]
Technically that's true (with the exception of some monsters I'm sure).
I've soloed some AVs. I just had to wait until I out leveled them and they turned grey, but I did solo them. So it is possible. -
I'm still searching the forums for more info, but are we sure that the badge means I-4 is coming soon? It could be its own separate update for the anniversary along with the free respec.

I would love to see a giant monster crashing through a city that's actually a threat.
The ones we have now are fun, but I've gotten to the point where I actually feel sorry for poor Lusca (even though I love sushi). Poor Lusca goes down quick.
I want to see a monster that is real work to take down. Scary for even lvl-50's to come after. One that requires massive teamwork. Yeah, we'll probably get debt; but so what. Most of us get that anyway.
It'd be fun too if buildings got destroyed in its path. Then have them slowly rebuild over the next few weeks.
Oh well, the game is growing; and as more features are added I hope we can see some epic scale threats come through the city that requires the heroes of Paragon City to come together and save the day. -

what the? why do they need to respond? it was a temporary event, people had fun, people took advantage. so what. move on already.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not my point.
It was fun, didnt say it wasnt. But id did sweep in a wave of noobs who are now at my level and helping me get XP Debt.
And the Devs havent said a word.
hmmm
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you looking for a personal apology from the devs for putting on an event that a lot of people enjoyed? Maybe you need to be more disciminating about the teams you join.
[/ QUOTE ]
Absoultly not- I wanted to hear from them- i did and im good now.
[/ QUOTE ]
*sigh*
How about this:
[ QUOTE ]
I havent seen a post by the Devs discussing its impact or admitting its failure.
[/ QUOTE ]
You wanted an admission of failure not just to hear from them. (which you didn't get)
and this:
[ QUOTE ]
An apology would be nice yes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah...so you DID want an apology.
So make up your mind already. Admit it. You wanted the devs to admit failure and to apologize to an event based upon how 'you' felt it should be.
You still haven't gotten that.
I still smell a whiner around here somewhere.
Sorry, but I have a very low tolerance for whiners. Especially whiners who contradict themselves and keep changing their stories. -
You're still missing the point.
You're wanting the devs to admit to something based upon your assumptions not facts.
Look at it this way...
I'm assuming you're posting here just to whine and get attention (I may be right or wrong). Therefore, I want you to admit that your whining just to get attention.
Same logic. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? That's the same logic you are using with wanting the devs to admit failure based upon your assumptions.

Now that the WL is finally gone, I look back and think-
"What do the Devs think about all the issues it caused?"
I havent seen a post by the Devs discussing its impact or admitting its failure.
So what do they have to say about it?
[/ QUOTE ]
There's nothing to discuss. Do a search and you'll see it's been discussed to death.
Don't know what you mean by "admitting its failure" unless you're just wanting to put words in their mouths. I don't really see what failed. Some liked it and some didn't. So what.
[/ QUOTE ]
Im not doubting that some people didnt like it. Im sure the n00bs LOVED it.
But im going to assume here that the Devs intentions were NOT to allow new players to lev up 20 levels in 2 days.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's what's so ridiculous about your post. You're assuming what the devs wanted to do. Yet you're wanting them to admit failure based upon your assumption of how things were supposed to be.
I think the best course of action would be to drop the issue and just play the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again this is an illogical argument-
if I said something like "im assuming that the Devs didnt want us to even ATTACK them in the first place" then yes, i should be yelled at.
But i said that im assuming that they did not expect people to basically use this event as a way to skip 20 levels.
Thats not a farfetched assumption.

hmm...I've never even noticed such a thing. Now I have to log in and find out what everyone's talking about.
I guess while I'm online I might as well KILL SKULS! -
Others have done it, but I do agree with you. I've played almost every mmog out there, and CoH is by far the best in my opinion.
The dev team and customer relations people are the best I've dealt with in any of the games I've played. -
That looks sharp!
Good job on the design and the idea.
Congrats! -
I haven't checked my hover speed in quite a while. Fortunately, they're looking into it to see if it's bugged.
If you want to really check your speed, I wouldn't compare against others. Just place a marker a few hundred yards out. Write down the starting distance, move toward it for 10 seconds and write down the stopping distance. Take the difference for how far you travelled in 10 seconds.
Then just remember DiRT (Distance = Rate * Time).
I know my lvl-34 flies at about 45mph while my teen hero is about 20mph. Haven't clocked my hover yet though. -
[ QUOTE ]
Sounds like this player has invested in 4 powers - 3 of which he choose, and most of which he has probably slotted more than 6, and he still cannot fly. How much more of an investment did he make compared to your 1 power? How much did he have to give up compared to you and he still cannot go vertical.
No matter how you slice it, flying is ultimately safer than super speed, and offer an undeniable vertical advantage over super speed (or in this case, 4 other speed powers). If flyspeed had the same max as runspeed, why would anyone ever take superspeed?
[/ QUOTE ]
/agreed
Fly is the best travel power in my opinion. It may not be the fastest, but speed is not always the best reason for moving around. Currently, I only have 2 SO speed in fly, and it's quick. Also, it's very maneuverable. I can get in and out of situations quickly. Saved my rear several times.
Fly is the most versatile (speed, maneuverability in all directions). That's why I love it. Being stuck on the ground is frustrating. -
I've been playing computer games since the mid-70's. I've never seen a game be released perfectly. I've never seen a piece of software written perfectly.
What's important to me is how things are handled overall. With CoH, I think things are being handled better than any other mmog I've experience. -

TFY = Alternative to RDY (Ready) when typing really fast. Pronounced "Tiffy"
Now when our team asks if everyone's ready we respond with TFY.

Without trying to sound cocky... hitting the F7 key is even faster.

True. It would be if everyone remembered all of the F-key settings. -
I did that too.
Instead of this ---> <bgcolor ff0000>
Try this ---> <bgcolor #ff0000>
The "#" sign tells it to use hex. -
