The exploration badges I see as part of some GPS game that someone started. Your radio/comm/ect keeps track of any badge "beacons" you get close to. When you get close to one, it marks it off on your list.

It's nice to know that the people working at Paragon Studios will not be beating each other up tomorrow. However, we're asking about Staff MELEE, not Staff FIGHTING.

Quote:Numina isn't dead, though. She's an astral form. Her body did die, yes, but her spirit never did, and she never became a ghost. She just doesn't NEED a body to exist any more.(Before anybody says that Ghost Widow can't go Rogue, two things: Posi/Numi shows that no, the dead can actually change, if you throw enough magic at it, and also, loyalty to Arachnos can become awfully flexible if she concludes that Recluse, et al, are not acting in the best interest of the Arachnos party or according to true Arachnos methodology. They left themselves a loophole if they want to write her over to some neutral side. Heck, maybe Ghost Widow, Scirocco, Ice Mistral, and Serafina replace Marshall Blitz in Warburg. Weirder things have happened.)
THAT having been said, I think Ghost Widow is full of cow droppings. She can change far more than she realizes, her shifting attitudes towards you in her patron arc show she can change somewhat. If Arachnos changes, I'm sure she can change as well to respond to the situation. -
Quote:His master plan is to stand between us and the well, and hand out only annoying little tidbits of power and information until we become so fed up that WE find a way around him and win the day without him helping at all. Also, I'm so smart there's no possibility whatsoever that you could contribute anything to this plan, so there's absolutely no point in me telling you anything about it until I need you to do something, or alternatively after its already happened and you can't possibly screw it up by using your brain.
His great plan to defeat the Battalion is to trick us into finding a way to defeat the Battalion. He can't. -
Quote:Everything I was going to say is right here, down to the point values and everything.I agree with those that say that it depends on what the AT offers in terms of powersets and options.
If the powersets are new, but you are limited to a single choice for primary and secondary, then price them the same as the epic ATs (1000).
If it will use existing sets like a Range/Defense, Melee/Debuff, or Melee/Control AT, then price it like Controllers and Masterminds (1200).
If the powersets will be radically different, and come with multiple options, then I'd say 1600 points might be acceptable, but it would have to be really innovative.
I wouldn't go any higher than that. If you go above $20 for an AT, you're approaching "didn't I pay $30 for Going Rogue, got 4 powersets, new costumes, and 4 (6 if you count each underground as its own zone) new zones worth of content, with branching options that changed the outcome of my story, along with the tip system and side-switching?" territory, and plenty of people are going to feel ripped off, and wonder what else they could be spending that money on.
The catch is, where we draw the "awesome enough for 1600 pts" line and were the Devs will draw that line will surely differ. It's quite likely that it'll differ a lot. So, if you're making something along these lines, get player feedback SOONER than later, and expect some problems with making it work. -
I'm not so sure they're going to release any more Tier 9 sets, when they can put them into Super Boosters instead. Tier 9 VIPs can spend their tokens on them (and MAYBE get the full set), and non 9s can buy the new packs with cash to get the outfit.

I'm not so sure he ever had Psyche's powers.
In Arc #1, it's made pretty clear that the obelisk STEALS powers, it doesn't just duplicate them. So, when Sister Psyche's powers go out of control, if Wade had used the ritual and obelisk to steal her powers, her overload would have come to an end. Manticore would never have needed to kill her after all, and the obelisk would have shattered.
Right? -
Galactus has clothes. Rularuu has clothes. Why does Wade seem to feel that ultimate power = naked time?
I feel sorry for everyone in Australia. The world's about to end, and when they look up to the skies, they see... that. -
Quote:I know, but will the upcoming 50% and Double XP boosters be located at the bottom of the list like the 25% boost, or will they be in the middle of things? I have a LOT of unclaimed things in there.Click on subject and the items will be sorted alphabetically. Learning this trick has saved me a lot of time. Wish I can order Temp Powers alphabetically.
If I'm mid-fight and notice that my booster has worn off, just how long do I want to take finding the next and getting it going? Before now, I could have the next one sitting in my tray, waiting to go. I liked that. -
Quote:This is a TERRIBLE change! This change is indeed intended and was an inadvertently missed note. We'll correct it ASAP.
For those concerned, there should be a confirmation window that notifies you that claiming this from your mail will activate the booster. I do understand concerns about changing the way this works, however the fact that you had to search through your mail, claim it, then search through your powers list and drag it to your bar, AND THEN activate it was determined to be a suboptimal user experience.
If you previously claimed boosters, they will still be in your powers and able to be activated in the legacy manner.
Thanks!

I was claiming 2 charges at a time on one character, then using one right as a TF (or whatever) started. I'd glance at my powers bar every now and then, and as soon as the first wore off, the second would go from grayed out to usable, and I'd hit it.
If I thought the second would run out while I was still well into something, I'd claim a third and stick it into my power bar, for the same result. Now, I'll have to look for the small XP booster icon in my buff bar to see if it's still going, and spend time fishing another out of my email if it's worn off. -
Yes. Team Inspirations are ungodly good for MMs. Each one buffs you AND all your MM pets, and they last for 5 minutes.
-
I'm rather disappointed in myself for that. I was far enough out of it that I made a stupid decision.
I'm hoping I'm one of the very few that buy this thing, though. If they sharply drop the price on it for later offerings, then maybe someday I'll be able to bring it out without shame. -
Quote:Oddly, I too care about the gameplay experience, and that's why I think the EBs are the RIGHT choice.Burden of Proof? You're kidding me. I don't care about the rewards. I really don't. At all. What I care about is the gameplay experience. And at the moment, being EB only is a detriment to the gameplay and how I and my friends want to play the game.
I do not care about the "optimum" way to get XP. I do not care about the "optimum" reward scheme. All I care about is that I have epic, badass fights where my friends on the defenders, controllers, corruptors, etc, matter.
At the moment, they're irrelevant. Because my scrapper just wandered in and tore the EB's arm off without support.
I've been going through the arcs with a non-optomized Controller. Plant/Empathy, and doing it solo. The EBs are very tough but winnable fights for me right now, and I like them. If they were AVs scaled down to EBs, they'd be tougher and I'm not sure I'd be able to win those fights.
Right now, I've been feeling epic as I do those arcs. Make those fights unwinnable to me, and I'll feel far less than epic. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation. -

I got this, for both accounts.
It was late, after 2am here. Now that I'm FULLY awake, I have to wonder why I did it. There's no way this thing is worth it.
Fools, money, and so on, I know... No more buying things when I'm only half awake. -
Lots of people on multiple servers. They're working on the problem right now.

Quote:They listed the releases for March in a specific order.Based on the last dev diary, tomorrow is going to be the leprechaun pet in time for St. Patrick's day.
Also listed was the SSA and Beast mastery coming out, so my guess is the SSA will be out next tuesday and Beast mastery out by the end of the month.
Staff, in April.
Disk
Leprechaun Pet
Beast Mastery
WWD 7
So, it looks like we'll be getting Beast Mastery in a week, and WWD 7 at the end of the month. -
Quote:In case you missed it, I think the Olympian Guard costume parts were added (free for VIPs) with issue 22.I've bought a few of the costume pieces. Some of them are quite nice, however at the same time prior to Freedom alot of it we would have gotten for free. I would still like to occasionally get a costume set added to the game that I don't have to drop money into, but I honestly don't see that really ever happening again outside of rare exceptions, which is disappointing. Getting a new costume set as part of a new issue for free would be cool, even if those parts were vip only.

Quote:Melee characters have gotten Street Justice and Titan Weapons fairly recently. Ranged ATs have gotten Beam Rifle, and Control ATs have just gotten Dark Control. I think it's safe to say that they pushed Beast Mastery ahead because MMs have been kind of left out lately.Considering we are getting the Beast Mastery Intrepid Informer before the Staff Fighting Intrepid Informer, does that mean we are getting Beast Mastery before Staff Fighting?
If Beast Mastery has been asked for "since time immemorial," Staff Fighting has to be that +1, at least.
It's a very cool power set, and I know the new four legged rig is even cooler. But considering we've gotten the German Shepard, the Black Wolf, and the Coyote Travel Power, let's give the quadrupeds a break, just for a few weeks, and go with Staff Fighting first. Please? -

One of my characters has the Autumn trail aura, set to movement only. I've noticed that the big "burst" of plants it creates when you land/fall is the wrong color.
She's set to dark green, and that's what I see when she walks/runs. But if she jumps, goes down stairs, falls, or anything else that creates the big burst of plants, they come out a dark blue.
I changed her trail color to dark blue, and the burst changed to dark red. Changing it to the constant version of the aura gives a constant color, so it's just the movement only version that's bugged.
I showed someone else, and they confirmed that they're seeing the same thing I am, so it's not just my computer acting up.
