  1. the grant invisibility gets a full surpression when the recipient of it is attacked and get hits, or attacks or clicks or what ever.

    Superior invisibility supresses from full invisibility to stealth invisibility only.....that includes when clicking things....that is what it does....as per old patch notes from when it was made to do it this way will tell you.(thats when they made it superior)

    However as many people will tell you some powers do not cause the superior invisibility to supress....like confusion......also sleep or summoning things doesnt supress it either...nor activating powers like group flight. Rezing a person does supress it to stealth....heal other does not.

    dont know if this answers anyones questions or not....i have played this power set since day 1....i remember when the pool power Invisibility from the conceal ment pool actualy worked better then the illusion power.
  2. all i can say to the OP is oh well.

    I have a friend who also seams to not want to play with groups....and wants to do solo stuff only...go figure.....not like there is any shortage of that.

    No one has to do the incarnate things....its not some requirement...might make it easier with some things...like APEX or TIN MAGE...but its not required to do those task forces.

    The supergroup I have been with(The Legion of Catgirls)...or rather the group which requires about 5 or 6 super groups on multiple servers.....is still growing.

    So if your group lost people becasue of some patch...maybe they simply switched groups....i plead the 5th on saying if they are in the Legion of not.

    I know i for one, took some of my own characters out of some other super groups....becasue the groups where.....just ok......not the greatest....and the members where kind of lame....(i.e. they wanted me to do everything for them and help them all the time but wouldnt ever help me or anyone else...no i wont name names either)

    So anywise if your friend is quitting....i hate to point this out....but with so much time invested into this game and so many things done......the reason isnt this game.....its some other reason. The reasons being in game issues and such is a major cop-out...as in thats not the truth at all.

    BY the way...this is a bit off topic........has anyone else noticed how many worlds of warcraft refugess we have been getting into this game.....

    Makes me real happy to see them playing...as they finaly figured out this game is superior.

    So back on topic.....your friend may be quitting....but this game is getting new players all the time....so will anyone miss your friend?.....maybe a few....but most ly people will be too busy greeting and playing with new players to really worry about it.

    And for me personaly i highly doubt i would quit for any game issues...becasue this games evolving nature makes most missions and things constantly change...it keeps me interested to see what they do next.

    When i started playing they didnt even have doors in missions....and you could count the differing indoor maps on both hands....and there wasnt very much ambience to much of anything.....but as time went on....the garage in one mission got cars and stuff to look like a garage....the drug factory got drug factory stuff in it with neat murky pools and eerie mist.....the fortune teller to rescue stopped being a generic citizen that would sometimes look like a guy in a suit....so now she realy is a fortune teller looking costumed person with abilities....heck sky way finaly got the park on the east side completed...took them long enough....now if only they would get the constuction done on some fo the rest of it....there have been task forces that no longer exist and invasions from rularuu and rikti that didnt just disapear after an hour....so many changes.....

    I dont know....i really want to see what will happen next.

    Um i dont want to point this out but i think i should....
    Even with assassin strike i didnt do very much to the boxes or the containers for the acid....sooo

    I am wondering what is the deal with that? Why are the boxes and in-animate objects stronger then the bosses in the Lambda encounter?

    I mean i think a box having over 10,000 health is a bit excessive considering its surounded by alot of enemy guards....

    Oh well maybe i am just being picky...i too have never been with a group that completed the lambda trial.....but then agin as a stalker....getting immediately shot by the seers that protect those boxes...while hidden....being the primary target of the security guard boss right off while hidden....becasue i guess i got too close....and then constaly being shot at by the roof turrets...again i suppose because i am hidden......go figure.

    I did manage to almost get maximum debt fromt he trial though...
  4. I can confirm on guardian server Tin mage and alot of TFs are done. The things that are not done alot are the Sewer Trial and the first Trial in the Hollows. Also Shadow Shard TFs are not done alot...nor is Citadel's Task Force(poor robot he is probbaly lonesome)

    Tin Mage and Appex are done about as much as the Task Forces from Oroboros in my opinion......its not a super huge amount abut its alot more then some things.

    Strike Forces seam to be done alot less on Guardian...i assume due to lower villain player numbers. I.e. They are probably all too busy playing heroes and doing the Task Forces onthe hero side.

    The times i find i have time are in the late evenings on weekdays....day time on saturday and random times sunday....but i always see task forces and things happening.

    Might also be due to the channels i am part of....becasue the people on those channels are very active....and you have to be quick sometimes or else you miss out on Task Forces becasue they fill up.

    All in all i would say the low level Task forces are not done too much becasue well...they are long...low level and dont give shards....and the Shadow Shard ones are not done much becasue they are super long.....and the Trials i mentioned i dont think are done too much becasue again they not only dont give shards but the sewer trial takes more team work and thinking then many people want to give.....and the other trial is becasue well people dont unlock it....and again takes some team work....
    I noticed if the Trials or Task forces require simul clicks or team work to do things....people first say onthe forums how great they are...then people dont do them as much...

  5. I use a Kinetic/Energy stalker...

    and about concentrated strike...

    It is different depending if you are a stalker or scrapper.
    I dont know much of the details as i have only used it on a stalker.

    And it does critical out of hide.

    However if you are hit while the animation is happening because hide drops as soon as you initiate the attack.....then you wont get the critical hit. This is what happens on long animation attacks. However if you are not hit and your animation completes and you successfuly hit the target you will do a critical strike every time.

    Sort of like how if you die before your attack animation completes....even though your power will still make the sound of going off it wont effect the enemy at all....becasue you died before the attack completed.

    The percentage of critical that a stalker gets is only when they are on a team....they get 3% per team member who is with 5 feet of them. In game terms thats right next to them.

    So in essence the best place to be is always right next to the tank or brute as they will take the aggro and you can safely dish out damage most of the time. The next best places are going and helping everyone else who are getting hit by stray enemies.

    Concentrated strike has a chance on a stalker of causing build up to refresh.

    I dont know if this helps or not....seams like people are mostly just telling the numbers and statistics the game tells them or the sites list...

    I dont ever see kinetic melee stalkers on any of the servers i play on...so i figured that maybe i should make sure people knew.

    Happy Friday!

    If you want a new nemesis plot...try this.

    Go to Oroboros...to the contact that does the incarnate slot unlock.

    After you have the slot unlocked....talk to him....and look for the response that says:
    Who is Mender Silos?

    Also another plot which may or may not be nemesis involved....
    In the very first portion of the missions of the Alpha Slot being unlocked....

    Notice what your character tells the mender.....

    That he needs to go and tell you: "where to find the well of furries....not the well of zeus..."

    if thats not enough to keep you going with conspiracies and plots i dont know what is.
  7. I too feel lethal and smash only attack sets are lacking. Mostly because of the global defense and resistance to those two damage types....drives me crazy.

    I always felt claws should do bleed attacks to make up for that fact...heck i felt all the lethal only attacks sets should do that...but go figure.

    Your only saving grace with claws is the attacks speed....and thus technicaly....if you slot the attacks with enhancements that do say knock down and other damge types you can get a bit more out of it....but otherwise.....claws in particular is one of those sets that never got balanced the correct way.
  8. This is your first stalker?

    Ok i dont know how far you have gotten....but i made a stalker that was electric melee and regenration.....and found it to be really tough as a stalker combination to start.
    This is after making about 6 differing stalkers with different power combinations.

    And when i say Tough i mean as in i didnt really do too well till level 16 when i got the power to stop stuns and knockback and such. It was a constant battle of getting knockeddown and stunned alot and being unable to heal fast enough....This totaly changed when i finaly got the level 16 power.

    I just wanted to say to anyone trying regenration for the secondary on a stalker..and you feel like it isnt working great.....stick it out....its really annoying but when you get that ability at 16 you will finaly will be able to defend yourself some.

    This is the first time i have ever felt this way with a stalker to this extent...so i thought i should post.

  10. You want to as usual make sure you get the placate and assassin strike as fast as you can.....

    but also for ninja blade you want to have the attack that increases your defense when it hits. I forgot the name....but you want to get it and use it alot...it will help out plenty.

    You also might remember willpower effects only kick in when you are not hidden on some of the powers that require enemies around you...in addition you should also recall willpower has powers that give you defense and such based on enemies around you.

    So you want to most likely think about taking other defenses to help you a bit on and beyond what you slot or get from set enehancements. There is nothing wrong with taking alot of little powers either...like combat jump, stealth, hover....nor is there anything wrong with taking the fighting pool powers.

    I recommend the fighting pool powers to help with willpower....that will provide you with the needed hole filling when you need it in my opinion.

    This response is entirely my opinion...so dont take it as gospel....you should only play the way you want to play
  11. I have had tons of experience with this launcher over the years
    kind of sad they are going to it....but go figure.

    Here are Tips for everyone using this Launcher until these issues get resolved:

    1: When you load your game go back and shut the launcher down...it consumes bandwidth and stays running when its not needed.

    2: Make sure this launcher is terminated when you stop playing....as this one tends to eat bandwidth while its running in the background....no it doesnt always update but will transfer information like it is....and it doesnt matter if you have the box clicked to say you want to share info or not.
  12. um....with the stalker i play currently the most....that is exactly what i do.

    My set of choice lately have been Kinetic/Energy

    In this case i use an Assassin strike with a build up...sometimes putting in extra damage or accuracy and kill the target. Kinetic also gives me a area of effect power called burst....which if you want you could then clean up just as you described.

    Kinetic is a tad slow but looks really neat also has some cool sound effects.

    The thing with placate is to use it when you are attacking something that isnt going to die from one single hit.....also strategic usage can eliminate potential threats and problems.

    I admit that stalker damage isnt as great as Blaster damage most of the time..and no this is not some hate on stalkers its how it is.....but stalkers do get some good defenses and hide doesnt have to get turned off and runs even when you run out of energy which is a big plus and stalker get a bonus to perform criticals when they are on a team.

    I dont know....sounds like you should have no trouble making and playing a stalker....oh one more thing though...you might at lower levels feel like you are alot weaker then when you did your blasters....thats normal....the health for stalkers goes up differently....eventualy you should have a little bit more health then you did as a blaster.

    Only thing you wont be doing is big area of effect mass kills....you will only be able to pull off smaller area of effect attacks and most of the time wont kill but will some serious damage....but on the bright side you wont lose all your energy right off for doing that....
    and you will go back into hide mode fairly fast.

    I personaly will suggest that what ever powers you choose....dont give up if they dont work the way you think they should....keep trying and playing....becasue eventualy you will reach a certain threshhold on a stalker with any of the power choices that yes you will still feel weak but you will be able to handle alot more then any of the other charcter archtypes....becasue of your hide and placate and the differing things each power set has to offer...and at that point you will start to feel more capable then anyone else...and laugh when they try to mimic you.

  13. I personaly would hate for it to mimic the dark power.

    Becasue right now if i use my top armor power which always does crash. Then i can use a single blue then use this power and get all my energy back fast. This makes a very low down time. And sometimes i dont even need to use a blue.

    I also slotted the power with an enhancement that has a chance to stun...so this makes it a power that will stun targets every so often....i cant do that with a heal power...there is no stun proc. available for heal.

    The set is dodge based....i realize it might be ok to have a heal power...but go figure energy recovery is far more useful to me....I find the stalker dodge powers tend to use energy alot and so do the attacks if you really start hammering out attack chains.

    In addition the set has that power that makes it possible to push enemies away from you...i am going to guess the energy drain was supposed to help with that...
    if anything they should get rid of that push power and replace it with the heal suggested.

    The energy drain power though...thats fine in my opinion...it actualy works very well....it also does a small amount of damage too...not sure how much as its very small...but i have killed targets with it many times.

    I play a Kinetic/Energy Stalker mostly right now...
    So that might be why i dont think the power should be altered....i could understand if i had electric melee too....considering those attacks all drain...i might think the power should do more healing too.

    But seriously i just would loathe the power if it got changed.....i would end up standing around alot with barely any energy again waiting to recover some.
  14. you want assassin strike and placate as soon as possible....

    you also want to get your toggle defenses just as fast.

    everything else is secondary...

    This is so you can slot those powers and not die super fast.
  15. lol you dont need ragnarock for chance for knock down...just get your self some real low level chance for knock down kinetic combat enhancements....that way if you exemplar down you can still use the power.

    You also want your typical miracle and whatever healing ones that add + recovery and +healing.

    SInce you are doing kinetic most of your attacks knock down anywise and extra enhancements for it are just icing on the cake.

    You also want to slot for exttra defense adds.....becasue ninja doesnt have lots and lots of defense..so the extra amoutn helps.

    You also want to slot in enahcnements that prevent knock back and knock down....thats one of the ninja flaws.....trust me it gets old quick when you fall down alot.....
    I myself used acrobatics and some enehancments to stop the knock back and knock down.....

    No matter what you choose to do...remember this:

    You are a Stalker....Thats what you do.....you do the things no one else seams to be able to do.

    And also:

    You dont do impossible things becasue you like to do it...you do them becasue you can and no one else can.
  16. I have a level 50 kinetic melee stalker.

    And i think my only real problem i have ever had was how the animations for it are a bit slow and the damage is a bit lower in comparison to many other types of melee attacks.(this is due to everything having resistance or defense to kinetic(crushing) type damage)

    Its not too big of an issue with the lower damage since you probably wont notice unless you fight the exact same elite boss or archvillains with multiple characters....though it might get disconcerting that it takes you longer to kill something with 5 or 6 hits while the controller or defender next to you just do one or two attacks to do the same thing.

    And when i refer to the slow nature of the animations i mean for example....you get on a team and try to do one of your fast attacks and still hit after someone else launches an attack after you already started yours.....and of course it says they killed the target on the combat information window.

    Or you try to do an attack and are in the animation meanwhile the enemy will kill you with mutiple hits before your animation completes....which makes your attack do nothing.

    yes death before an attack animation completes means you do zero damage...which is very annoying....also means you tend to see your self about to die....and try clicking inspirations but find you only get to listen to the panicky buzzar sound of not able to use them yet...so you get to watch yourself die.(i have gotten to a point that i can click a macro i made that has a single sentence that says opps i am about to die...lol)

    Oh and one other annoyance has been the accuracy....i dont know why but for some strange reason my kinetic melee stalker seams to miss alot....i mean i added alot of accuracy stuff.....and am using now the incarnate alpha item as well to increase accuracy...but i still seam to miss 1 out of every 5 attacks...
    Only seams to be this way with this kinetic melee on my stalker...i dont have this trouble with ninjitsu or with martial arts or dark on other stalkers.....and i dont have the issue with other character types that are not using kinetic melee.....so go figure....i have not tried kinetic melee on anything else.

    but thats about it....otherwise it works out not too bad.

    I would have to agree with some of the other players that dark attack powers seam to work a little better...becasue you not only do the kinetic and lethal damage but also do dark damage along with those other damage types.

    While with kinetic melee you do kinetic(crushing) damage....which means that everything has resistance and defense to crushing...so the higher level you get the worse it becomes and the more noticable it becomes.
    For eample you will recall many times in your leveling when you could once assasin strike and kill something....and now you find you do only 75% of the health in damage...because your enemy has some resistance to the damage you do.

    On the plus side though people do get entertained by your attacks and there doesnt seam to be too many kinetic melee players who are high level...and i get alot of people commenting on that fact...kinetic melee still looks really neat.

    The developers just need to actualy fix a little bit of it....like they did for earth powers.....you would think they would notice the simple thing like everything having resistances to it...
    hmm maybe thats why the accuracy isnt the greatest either...maybe its suffering from the same sort of thing with mutiple defense versus it....go figure....i dont know that much other then what i play and how it works from that....

    One thing i think they should add to this game is an epic Kinetic pool....with a few more new powers that have the whine build up...i love that effect....^_^
  17. you can get rid of the pop up by right clicking on each of the coh programs...and changing the attributes on them in the properties menu to have them run as an administrator.(check the box next tot he option to run as administrator)

    That should eliminate the first pop up window....but you should know...any changes that happen to thos programs like patches and whatever will require you to change the program properties again....because the program will get altered and thus the default setting to run as an administrator will be changed.

    As for the mouse wheel issue...since this has only started happening since you upgraded to windows 7...then what you need to do is go into your windows 7 configuration for your mouse and make sure it is set for a wheel...and not some generic standard mouse setting.
  18. unless there was a way to slow an AVs regen or maybe hit alot more.....i dont think this will be a very viable option much.

    Thats one big problem with stalkers....they are too much of a one trick pony....you would think their attacks would do more things....like reduce regen or have some other secondary effects more....but instead....they seam to not be able to hit as much...use more energy and sometimes can do an attack that does alot of damage...but still alot less then most other character types.

    They practicaly made the hidden thing become obsolete and un-usable for alot of the higher end game...and they wont give stalkers a boost at all.....go figure...

    I use this as an example of no testing....but instead they wrote things on paper and thought wow thats how its going to be.....or maybe did do some testing but failed to test correctly....like pitting a stalker against Skulls as a battle determinent...instead of facing them against carnival of shadows or knive of artemis or rikti with drones or even just rularuu

    by the way if you want to beat trap door.....just get about 10 of the red damage inspirations....a coupel of accuracy ones...a number of purple ones and beat him up....of course it wont go as smooth as using a blaster or scrapper or tank or brute or controller....but go figure.

    Trap door should be the developers red flag that there is something wrong...their system of numbers should show the issues.

    Also the number of posts for this section of the forums should be another red flag.

    You want to feel epic.....
    Try either:

    1: Fire/Fire Blaster
    2: Illusion/empathy Controller
    3: Earth/Force Field Controller

    You will not only feel epic...but you will look epic and definately change the what is happening on a team

    drones and sisters of artemis cannot be hidden from.

    I did try to beat their perception though.....i once was able to beat the drones....but the drones got an upgrade....

    oh and things that phase now see you too....like master illusionists..but they have to be facing you it seams.....whihc i think is a very interesting addition and twist to how stealth works.
  21. i thnk the only thing this game could use is a similar feature like in hero stats thats players could turn on to use if they choose...

    The feature i am refering to is the timers...

    In herostats the program tells you how long something is going to take to recharge and counts down...and tells oyu how long something is going to last and counts down...

    Those htings have been way to invaluable to me when i use specific powers....like for figuring out when i can use a rez power or how much longer until vengence is ready again...or how long until my assassin strike is ready to be used again....

    Yes the nifty growing button is ok....but just doesnt tell me too much.....and then there is the fact that some powers look like they are reayd when they are not...as the buttons will sometimes recharge too fast.

    And hte other usage is for powers like moment of glory and overcharge and unstoppable...i relly like knowing when exactly i need to get the heck out of there....i realize the powers blink before they end....but i like to know if i have enough time to take on that next group or if i should sit and wait.

    As for the DPS...eh....useful i suppose.....i used the hero stats version to figure out i was doing less damage then last year ona character....but then go figure.....not really a real thing needed in my opinion.
  22. yep there is something weird witht he stalker build up lately....

    I can confirm after using it i do tend to miss alot....

    Alot more then if i dont use it.

    And its noticable to me becasue i use not only that but the special hero power and i use a toggle from my epic set to increase my accuracy more......and was even thinking baout getting the pool power tactics to make my accuracy even higher due to how many times a i missed.

    But i then noticed my to hit only went down when i used build up....i suspect that like some other abilities it might be sharing a vairiable with another aspect of the game and hte two variables are getting mixed...ergo the to hit is not constant as the buff is happening.

    To Understand what i am refering to....pull up your combat stats....if you have issues like that...you wills ee the window constantly change....you might also see a random red number......the window should never be fluctuating like that...a power that is always on is not going to turn off or reverse for no reason.

    I hope people send in bug reports....becasue i have...and the more they get the more they escelate problems to look into.

  24. I actualy dont mind this type of promotion....

    But i never get the codes....as its a promotion made for people who all they do is sit around and have the forums up.

    That means they dont work or do much else...

    I mean its kind of obvious with the time frames of how fast they get the codes and use them...what was that like 20 seconds on a few of them last time.

    With so many people looking for the codes...and with the way this game and site sends data....thats like having a connection at the location itself.
  25. I just wanted to post this.

    I want to thank the Customer support for NC soft and everyone there.

    I had a weird issue with my account that they quickly found....and then fixed.


    This experience showed me that i should make sure people know if they have issues how they can get the problem fixed fast

    If anyone has an issue with their account....the support will ask for your original game 20 digit codes you used to get into the game.

    They will ask for each game you have on your account.....they have records that date back to when the account began and they will see it for example if you tell them about how you played some other games that no longer exist.(they dont really care too much about those games though...Auto Assault and Tabula Rasa are dead to them now)

    Again i just wanted to thank all the support people and make sure to get this information out....so that if others have issues...like you cant seam to wade around the NC soft Qa stuff and find the numbers to call them for example.
    The number is : 1-512-225-6359 for NC soft support which has hours of 12pm to 5pm central time...if you need a differing department thats not on their phone menu...just pick support(1) and tell them where you want to be transfered to...or they will give you the number.

    I realized after not being able to access my account how limited the information i was able to get was....but i could still view the forums though....

    so maybe some red name could sticky a special thread with the information on it that might be helpful....for future reference.
