Thanks ricohdah, given me some more things to think about.
I am pretty confident I can reach my goals (Where I wasn't before) so now am starting to look to see if I can slot -res procs into my attacks for added awesome. -
What?!?!?!?! Awesome!!!!
This was the only thing I was worried about in my planned TW/Elec build because I hate not being first into a mob, but now I won't have to worry so much if I plan ahead
You have made my day, and possibly my week! -
First attempt has managed the defence but not enough recharge (And I doubt enough endurance because I never paid attention to that and realised my toggles are not reduced at all!), and I would love to be able to free up some of the attack slots for -res procs:

There is also the clickie one to consider that gives iirc ~3.5% defence at all times (Starts big but never goes below ~3.5%) which will help me free some slots, but at the cost of having to stop for another click.
At least the survivability is looking roughly like I hoped -
Hi all,
I have just come back from a few months away (I left when Incarnates hit) and am liking the look of the new Titan Weapons set (Actually I like the weapons and the stats, but stuggling to match them to a character yet because they are so HUGE).
I haven't had much time to play around with builds just yet because I am still re-familiarising myself with the actual game, but I am looking for a TW/Elec build with the following*:
- I-capped defence when Shadow Meld is up (So 20-30% as standard) with <30s recharge on Shadow Meld
- Perma-Hasten (Ideally perma-Energise but I am pretty sure thats not gonna happen)
- Travel Power
- Ideally sustainable endurance, but I hear that is very hard with TW even using Power Sink
- PvP 3% resist IO if there is room
So while I look into the incarnate powers and attack chains and stuff I would really appreciate any help you can give
Thank you in advance.
*My 2nd choice is TW/Nrg but I would want 45% defence normally and I-capped under Shadow Meld and I am not sure which would be the most survivable because of the poor resists on /Nrg. All I know is that I left because I was sick of my standard softcap /shield toon getting smashed to bits so I want something that will last longer in I-content. -
This was what I initially thought, but I would feel like letting myself down if I didn't go Muscalature
Quote:This.
Your toggles are not the source of your end drain its your attacks. The only thing that solved END problems for my Crab was going with Cardiac.
Quote:Ageless will fix any endurance woes you may have. Failing that, Cardiac is roughly half as good and will most likely do the trick if your IOed out build has "standard" recovery (miracle, numina, and some small bonuses from sets while pursuing other things). -
I am only level 43 at the moment but I have had a Miracle and a Numina unique for ages and still have very bad endurance issues, especially when summoning pets!
I can only see this getting worse as I hit 50 and move towards perma-Hasten so is the only way of coping with it just pacing your attacks?
The build I am looking at is below and I want Muscalature Alpha rather than Cardiac though I will consider Ageless Destiny but do you all build towards endurance reduction or just put up with it? Or am I making too much of the problem?
Also any build comments would be appreciated

A few changes and I am a bit closer to my goals but I still haven't got enough recharge overall and particularly in Midnight Grasp which leaves a .42s gap in the chain (Not counting for Arcanatime).
As well as that recharge I would like to squeeze the 3% Res IO, get the Armageddon proc into Lightning Field, and of course hit the rest of the targets.

Hi All,
I have been working on a more single target focussed scrapper to my Elec/Shield and decided that Dark/Elec brings the right amount of damage and survivability for my liking. I know it would be better on a brute but I don't like brutes.
My challenge to myself is:
Must have -
Perma-Hasten
Sustainable endurance for the MG>Smite>SL>Smite chain
Good defence (30%+ I think - either typed or positional)
Perma-Soul Drain
Water Spout
Dark Consumption instead of Power Sink (But maybe both as long as endurance isn't totally reliant on one or the other)
Nice to have -
Siphon Life frankenslotted for max stats rather than set bonus'
Perma-Soul Drain
Perma-Energise!
Achilles' Heel -res proc in Water Spout
I haven't quite hit my targets yet, but here is what I have so far:

And as you can see there is no budget for this.
-
I haven't got the build on me since I am at work but I played around some more last night and changed a few defence IO's into defence/endurance which gained me a bit more net recovery but still kept my defence over 45%.
It makes me a few % worse against the incarnate stuff, but there are buffs there and I haven't noticed that I really need any kind of buffer against debuffs even on the ITF and that is without running Grant Cover to up my DDR.
So I think I am going to respec into this build tonight unless anyone can spot anything else I can change?
One thing I would love to do is drop the 3rd Membrane from Active Defence but that puts me 0.3 seconds away from double-stacking it so I would need to find 5% (I think) more global recharge from somewhere. I was looking at dropping that slot, putting the IO into Super Speed which means I can drop the Aegis set from Tough and look for some recharge there, but I am 2 slots short. I could get those slots from either of the procs in Fireball or Thunderstrike but I dont think thats a good trade. -
It turns out that I don't use Aid Self so I have dropped it, and I don't use Boxing so I took the slot from there - that free'd up a few power picks and allowed me to swap some slots around.
I have ended up with procs in Fireball and Thunderstrike, better endurace recovery, better regen, a small damage buff across the board, and better accuracy in exchange for a small loss in s/l resistance - very worth it I think

Having now seen Ring of Fire I have remade my build and I think I have also settled on the incarnate powers that I will work towards as well.
I have decided to keep Aid Self - mainly because I can't see anything worth picking as a replacement!
So my latest build is below, and as always improvements would be greatly welcomed:

Thanks for that, I hadn't thought about going for Rebirth really but it does seem like a good choice. It does however mean I might have to look into losing Aid Self.
One last question: Is Ring of Fire really as good damage with as mids shows it to be?! -
Sorry to bump this but I have had a few months break from the game and coming back to it it seems like Incarnate powers have added another layer of things to think about, so I hope you don't mind me asking a few questions
First things first; this is the build that I have currently:

My thoughts on the new incarnate content is that I may need to get some extra defence because I think 59% is the new softcap if I remember rightly. I don't think I can get to there without making some major sacrifices that I am just not prepared to make, but I do have a few options because I can drop up to 45% recharge in each power, or 45% global recharge and reslot for additional defence with the Spiritual Alpha making up for those losses, or I could try and boost the defence by swapping to the Nerve Radial Paragon Alpha and get an additional 20% defence buff which puts me to 47/48% and then add Barrier Core Epiphany which I think gives 2.5% defence at its weakest?
That will put me to around 50% to all and I think I should leave it there.
I am leaning towards the second path (Despite spending all my shards on the Spiritual Alpha so far!) because it still leaves me with good defence/recharge when exemped and that won't happen if I reslot and rely on Spiritual for recharge.
Does anyone more experienced with the new content have any advice on which direction I should go? Or any other advice to improve the build?
As you can see, cost is no real issue
Thank you very much for any help.
Edit: I hope that all makes sense? -
In a similar boat to most people here
Bought the science pack, then get "We're sorry, but we are unable to accept your order at this time. Please try again later or tomorrow. If you continue to have problems, you may wish to visit one of our retail partners" when trying to buy the mutant pack.
Wish they had a warning that I could only buy one in 24 hours and I would have got the mutant pack first ... -
-
Crabs are more about surivability - they probably can solo AV's, I think they can have -res procs in every attack iirc, but it won't be quick.
I don't think much of crabs when soloing on x8 either, they have lots of AoE's and can make a full attack chain but I don't think any of the are particularly strong. They are great team support toons though.
(This is from a softcapped, perma-hasten, perma-pets build too).
Edit: If it helps on a /traps toon you have enough to do that it really doesn't feel like your pets are doing all the work. Pick up provoke and in between laying traps, using web grenade and provoke you will feel very useful. But I know MM's are a love/hate thing. -
If you are not avoiding MM's then Bots/Traps is the way to go - they have all the debuffage of your ill/rad plus much greater AoE. I would think Hami/MSR/CoP/STF/Lusca are the only things you can't solo with one.
Otherwise I would go for a scrapper, probably a Fire/Shield - very high damage, very high survivability, self sufficient. Though you won't be taking on GM's they can still beat AV's. -
Moving on to the build:
No Achilles Heel proc in Enforcers!
Full set of Soulbound Allegiance is wasted since the bonus' are awful.
6th Ragnrok is a waste
5/6th bonus' in Expedient Reinforcement aren't really helping. Also Gang War needs more recharge - and do you really use it for damage?
Aiming for regen on a MM isn't much use since you have a tiny amount of HP. Triage Beacon will give you all the regen you could ever need.
Not much need to slot Caltrops for additional slow.
Hami-o's work wonderfully.
You didn't look like you cared about cost, so I made the following:

Only when he want's full stealth though which isn't all the time so it isn't much of a hassle I find. And it does give you the option of having sprint turned on which lets you get that tiny bit closer to fire off seeker drones (I find SS too hard to control in some maps).
-
I don't think anyone mentioned it but Numina isn't a great benchmark for defence builds, she is a /psi user which has no positional component on most of her attacks so it goes straight up against your /psi defence which is unlikely to be very high. She destroys softcapped builds quite easily.
-
Hmm, Enzymes still work on my bots/traps.
-
Actually for dropping single targets (AV's aside) I think buffs might be better than debuffs, so I would be looking at Thermal (Forge) or Pain (Painbringer).
Possibly thermal since it has both buffs and debuffs. -
My first slotting priority on a Traps/ would be anything that I needed to help me softcap my toon to all.
If I could do that without needing specific sets in these powers then I would probably do the following:
Level 10: Acid Mortar -- Achilles-ResDeb%:20(A), AnWeak-DefDeb/EndRdx/Rchg:50(11), AnWeak-Acc/Rchg/EndRdx:50(19), AnWeak-Acc/DefDeb:50(34), LdyGrey-DefDeb/Rchg/EndRdx:50(36), UndDef-DefDeb/Rchg/EndRdx:50(36)
Level 20: Poison Trap -- Lock-Acc/Hold:50(A), Lock-Acc/Rchg:50(25), Lock-Rchg/Hold:50(25), Lock-EndRdx/Rchg/Hold:50(31), Lock-Acc/EndRdx/Rchg/Hold:50(31), Lock-%Hold:50(31)
Level 28: Seeker Drones -- Amaze-ToHitDeb%:50(A), Amaze-Stun/Rchg:50(33), Amaze-Acc/Stun/Rchg:50(33), Amaze-Acc/Rchg:50(43), Amaze-EndRdx/Stun:50(43)
This is how I slot my Bots/Traps - though I do have the slots to spare. -
I am sure I remember this being 'fixed' in recent patch notes, and it never happened to me until last week - but is happening more and more often now
-
The 'Chance for Smashing' procs are very good in all your bots, because pretty much every attack has a kb component, so the proc has a chance of going of on most attacks.
Protector Bots cannot be slotted with Achilles' Heel, but the Assault Bot can be slotted with the Soulbound Allegience: Chance for Build Up - which is well worth the money no matter how hard you find earning influence.
I think those are the only offensive procs you can slot, but it is worth trying to find room for both defensive procs (From Sovereign Right and Edict of the Master).
