How do *YOU* slot Traps?

Mostly, I am looking for clever slotting ideas for Acid Mortar, Poison Trap and Seeker Drones. Specifically I am interested in how much accuracy you put in them. This is in regards to a Defender running Tactics.

Poison Trap: Just recharge. The debuff is autohit, and I'm outta slots.

Acid Mortar: Frankenslot some Accuracy, Endurance, but mostly Recharge and a -res proc.

Seekers: Cloud Senses six slotted for the defense bonus.

Going off memory here, but my DP/Traps Corruptor who is really starved for slots Frankenslots the Accurate to-hit and defense debuff sets for Acid Mortar and Seeker Drones. I go with two Accuracy/Recharges, one Accuracy/Endurance/Recharge, and a common Recharge. This should give capped Accuracy against up to +2s (+3s if you're running Tactics) and ED-capped Recharge for only four slots. An Achilles Heel proc is also nice in Acid Mortar, though, if you can spare another slot. Poison Trap I do two common recharge and a Lockdown Recharge/Hold.

My first slotting priority on a Traps/ would be anything that I needed to help me softcap my toon to all.

If I could do that without needing specific sets in these powers then I would probably do the following:

This is how I slot my Bots/Traps - though I do have the slots to spare.

I tend to favor recharge. 4-piece basilisk's gaze, of course. PGT's regen debuff is autohit, the hold isn't. Caltrops like recharge, and they're one of the powers where it may be reasonable to put in a damage proc -- although it only checks every 10 seconds, it checks on initial drop, so if you're dropping caltrops on stuff, you get a boost to damage from it. I think I have part of a gaussian's set in my seeker drones.

Acid mortar, the resist debuff proc is nice, and apart from that, recharge, some accuracy, and defense debuff seem nice.

I try to aim for having PGT, SD, and AM all under one minute recharge. Depending on team, that can be enough to get you all three on every spawn (this is on the Super Efficient "herding" strategy used by a particularly famous tanker on Virtue), or to get you at least one on most spawns as long as you're willing to drop seeker drones on the next spawn over or possibly the spawn after that (this is with some people I know who are just steamrolling).

for me i just try for high rech and procs

achilles heel chance for resist debuff in acid mortar is wonderful, so is the lockdown chance for +2 mag hold in poison trap

dmg procs in caltrops are also really nice

seeker drones i usually frankenslot rech and 1 acc

last but not least i try to soft cap at least smash and lethal dmg through armor toggle and ffg

For me, For Leveling:
3 recharge in AM, PGT, SDrones, 3 def in FFG, 1 rch in Caltrops, and 3 frankenslot heal/rech IOs in Triage.

AM benefits from a slot of acc so it's more reliable vs. higher cons. -res and hold procs in AM, lockdown proc in PGT as the slots become available.


For a final build, whatever gets softcap and amps the recharge. I'm working on a fire/traps corr build that I adapted from a forum offering, I think...Frosticus' AV soloing build?

156% global recharge, softcapped with some cushion to s/l/e/n and ranged

AM: 3 slots of Thunderstrike (dmg/rech, acc/dmg/rech/, dmg/end/rech), Analyze Weakness Acc/rech, Devastation Hold proc, Achilles' Heel -res proc

PGT: 4 slots of recharge-oriented Basilisk's Gaze, Lockdown hold proc

Seekers: Full Cloud Senses set. Gets ranged def, and global rech takes up the slack in the set's rech value.



I have other trappers I did different things with. Defenders are fun to build because you can softcap them to melee/ranged/aoe pretty easily, unlike corrs.
