Came here totally expecting the OP to suggest some sort of CGI intro.
Instead I got a link to the CoV theme.
Nothing to complain about there. -
Hell, just give my Defenders/Corruptors an APP with a +defense shield and I'd be happy..
Not that I'm against the idea though, that would cool too.
Adding in APPs isn't unheard of, didn't they add a Fire one to Scrappers? Could have sworn that wasn't there when APPs were introduced. -

The only metric in this vein that I ever heard of was the ancient "A player can defeat 3 minions, 1 Lt and a Minion, or *maybe* a single boss" metric, that has seemingly been thrown to the wind.
(thank god) -
Quote:Most likely, and I'd like to point out that it also happens to pets that don't even have a melee attack to begin with. Are we talking about the AI quirk that has primarily ranged henchmen run into melee? Because I've been playing Masterminds since CoV Beta and the only AI quirk which was ever a legitimate problem was henchmen refusing to use the full complement of their powers, such as Spec Ops refusing to use snipe or the Thugs Bruiser refusing to do anything than chuck rocks. Pets occasionally running into melee does not strike me as making Masterminds "impossible" to play, as the MM forum seems to suggest.
While you're right, it doesn't make them unplayable, it sure is hella annoying enough that it should be fixed. -

that lipstick job has always made me laugh,
I wonder if it was some sort of inside joke for the original dev team. -
Quote:So it would be a battle of attrition, which is kind of Hulk's forte', is it not?The T-1000 really gets staggered when it's blown up, though, as shown when it was hit with a grenade and all of those shotgun blasts. So an explosive-tip arrow from Hawkeye could stop the T-1000 long enough for Hulk or Thor just to pick him up and chuck him into the next state.

try doing scanner missions + the bank mish.
Should be able to choose from a pool of randomly generated contacts once you complete the bank mission and talk to the detective.
Unless something has changed recently. -
I think we're getting too technical here,
Let's just throw the Avengers and 100 Terminators (what model though?) in the battlefield and have them go at each other. -
Quote:It's the classic "Villain Syndrome" if the villains were ever any good at their job they'd win in every movie ;PEr, in the latest Terminator, they had John Connor and Kyle Reese trapped and once again sent a single Terminator against them, and when it got within skull-crushing reach, it just kept throwing them across the room. Like it always does. Their ability to fail at assassination is second only to the guy who shot Gabrielle Giffords.
How villains were foiled because they 'took their sweet *** time' before actually defeating the protagonist?
It's like "oh hey, I have the hero on the ropes, but before I defeat him/her I will tell them my master plan, contact their grandmother and call her nasty names, and update my facebook page" -
Truth be told, I am getting a little worn out on CoH, but since I've been playing it off and on since release that's not really surprising.
The game at its core though, is perfect for me.
I love the character customization/development. It can be as simple or advanced as you want it to be. Some toons I spend hours tinkering their build, others I just slap on together and still have a jolly time. The fact that one ill/rad can be so different from another ill/rad is marvelous. This is in stark contrast to many MMO's, where people who play the same class (or a spec within a class) all pretty much have the same cookie cutter build.
The pacing of the game suits my perfectly these days. I no longer can spend hours dedicated to playing the game. Instead I spend a few hours a day here and there, with a large likelihood of my playtime being interrupted to take care of real-life matters. People in this game don't seem to mind if I have to go afk for a few minutes at a time, but if I were to do that in say, WoW, I would be insta-booted.
I for one feel that Freedom has breathed a lot of life into the game. All the new powersets are exciting, and the new mechanics help make them more unique..
That all being said, there is still a lot of old rusty spots of the game that need to be taken care of. MM pet "AI" is atrocious, and seems to only get worse. They really need to fix that as it hurts the entire AT. -

Thought this might be worth sharing;
I haven't had the time to read the article, only skimmed through it, but it seems to be interesting.

Quote:Oh darn, whips aren't real world weapons, guess we can't have them then..I guess I get to be the one to point out that whips aren't even weapons. There is nothing resembling real world basis for "whip fighting." The only reason they work to the extent that they do for demon summoning is that they're entirely particle effects that can be as long as necessary to imply some sort of magical harmfulness. Frankly I think they look pretty terrible, no offense to whoever worked on them, just because the animations carry no weight at all since they're based on the false premise that some little piece of leather is going to do more than give you a carpet burn.
Oh wait, neither is Energy Melee, Electrical Melee or Dark Melee.. I don't see many people running around attacking people with Spines protruding out of their body either, we better scrap all those powersets while we're at it. Oh and Mind control? Pfft, all sci-fi fluff, get rid of that too!
Sorry, I fail to see how real world use of a whip has any basis on whether or not it should be included in a comic book game. -

I like to pop fake silly "mistells" in the middle of dead-silent teams (usually with some sort of innuendo attached to them, but nothing outright vulgar). If that doesn't get them to say a thing or two, then the team is hopeless..

See Hollywood, you don't need junk like ACTA to make money, just stop putting out trash and we'll pay to see it...

Heh, never knew the faction names were different in the Japanese version of Transformers.

Hey I wouldn't doubt it, knowing them.
Maybe they were bickering amongst themselves again, and caused the Romulan Sun to supernova..
That is, if I remember that Voyager story arc properly, where the Q were having a "civil war" of sorts, and it caused stars to explode.. -
Quote:They probably noticed, but I doubt they'd care much..One wonders if the "All-knowing" "all seeing" Q have noted the time change from the last movie. One would think that such an event would garner their attention.
More than likely they are just sitting back and laughing at it all. -
I would gobble up free Character Slots for sure.
-
What?! No Nyan Cat!?
I am disappoint! -
Quote:That would be pure win.And when we do use it to do that to foes, they should either make a Goofy scream or a Wilhelm scream as they are launched off to their falling-off-a-building doom.
