Quote:I own and thoroughly enjoy Equilibrium, so the Dual Pistol animations sound just fine to me. Sight unseen. If you haven't seen the movie Equilibrium, you haven't missed anything worth seeing.
I can dig where the OP's coming from, don't get me wrong, if the shooting animations were realistic and utilitarian I'd probably make a growly post about it too. I still might, once GR comes out, who knows. -
My namesake MA/Regen Scrapper is getting an evil counterpart. I haven't decided on a name yet.
If we get to go good with our VEATs like I've read, Bane Spider Minchu and Fortunata Hamilton will find redemption. I have a Warshade, Quirian Kai, who's quite likely to fall to the dark side though.
Retaliator is a Dark/Kin Corruptor who is actually True Neutral in alignment, but I'm considering turning her slightly towards the light.
Undecided on the rest. -
It's of interest to me that in the past, in the Suggestions forum, I've seen the idea of Dual Pistols shot down by saying how boring such a set would be. And now that it's en route and fancy (presumably, I haven't seen the video), someone is saying they wished it wasn't so fancy.
I haven't decided what concept I'm using for DP, but I know I'll have one. I'm kinda into fancy and unrealistic myself. Blaster or Corruptor, what and which side to choose. -
-
Actually yes, it has happened quite a bit, but it's not limited to these forums, everything slows down like I'm hitting a bottleneck. Lasts about 2 minutes or so, then clears up. No discernible pattern.
GA here, Bellsouth DSL. Most of what I do online seems to run through ATT.net at some point, which has been a chokepoint in the past for particular sites. I've run traces before. -
Heh, if only I could get into dual blades, huh? Nah, I didn't have Kratos in mind actually, but now it'll be tough to deny that. So thanks a whole lot. :P
-
Hmm, okay, I'll play. I have a character that's lacking a really good story, the one I had in mind was weak and only got lamer as it went along, so I just rolled the character and promised a story later. She's only level 5 because I don't like not having a bio. :/
1. The Silent Force, female. (The name is why I rolled her, thank you Within Temptation.)
2. Fire/Storm Corruptor, no pools yet but she'll fly.
3. Magic.
4.
She's supposed to look ethereal, ghostly, and I liked the idea of a ghost with a bloody stripe across half its face.
The original idea I had was an elemental force, fire and storm being the bane of ships and sailors everywhere, which was captured somehow and after some testing turned out to be an Irish girl lost on a cruise ship [x] centuries ago. I dunno, it sounded good to begin with but I'm not satisfied with it, it's more an outline than a story. -
My namesake MA/Regen would've been a MA/Willpower instead.

50 is most assuredly "the end", I consider characters retired and doing their own thing independently of me at that point. However I don't push all characters to even 50, I have a few in the 40s who I have very little interest in taking further, they simply feel like they've accomplished what goals they had. Some may not get even that far.
I'm a single-player RPGer at heart, and even though the cap is 99 it's not necessary for them to get there, they just have to be far enough to finish THEIR story. The cap may lower to 50 and there may be other players along for the ride, but to me nothing has really changed. I do not desire an end-game for MMOs or 100% completion for SP games. I know this is not a common feeling at all, but it's how I see it. -
See sig. Such truth it makes me both laugh and cry.
I also liked these two from Nethergoat. Hope I get them right: "My ban-stick is well-seasoned with the salty grue of a brigade of cretins" and "Even by your usual standards, this thread is a brim-full bucket of lukewarm fail." I don't agree with the guy all the time, but hang it all if I can't admire his words sometimes.
I'll try to remember some more. Over the years I've seen so many nuggets of wisdom (and...otherwise) from various people. I really should've made a list. -
My res is set at 1280x1024, and I can see Psyche's left arm and GW's right arm and shoulder plate.

Quote:I'm going from memory only here (I don't have access at the moment), but I think you're choices are the belly shirts or the long-un-tucked-in shirt that only shows a sliver of midriff.
I don't think there's any specifically 1/2-shirt like you seem to be looking for.Quote:You are right I settled for showing cleavage. Oh shall I ever be able to keep them covered ^_^.
Midriff but not cleavage. It has the v-cut, but shows nothing. -
Quote:True, but it's, again, applied seemingly arbitrarily. One would think a weapon with special power against fey creatures like Red Caps, the Iron Blade, would be something other than a basic-model Broadsword with a level-1 attack.Well, look at it this way. When you get the Wave Scrambler, you use it and you're like, "Oh, it's just Psychic Scream." But when you get the Rune of Warding, you use it and you're like, "Wow, I've never seen that before, how cool!" And that's exactly what the devs decided they wanted.
-
The devs seem quite arbitrary in what they deem to be unique pieces or not. Sometimes it's explained and makes sense, like how NPCs can have long skirts because they won't have as many animations as PCs have. A CoT Mage is not going to bust out an Eagle Claw, whereas somebody's ankle-length-dress-wearing martial artist character probably will, and clip horribly doing it. Yes, yes, burden there in theory is on the character-maker, but you can see the dev side too. (Note that I'm just randomly picking a fancy power, EC might not specifically be the issue.)
Other times...well, the decision to keep piece [x] unique presumably does have an explanation beyond "/e shrugs", but we're not privy to it. For example, some of the NPCs added to explain or award Merits have small headset-radio type pieces, something I and others have wanted for years now, yet these minor NPCs get them? And we don't get that skull-kebab mace merely because it's on a temp power? It just winds up being the same reason one of my weapon-wielding characters can't relieve a Knife of her Knife, which basically is "Because". -
As the player of a BS/Regen Scrapper who's an ex-KoA, I say YES PLEASE to acquiring that blade. I don't think Sister Scylla will mind if it's unlockable via a particular KoA mission or defeating a certain (small*) number of her former "sisters", as long as she can get it. Just don't let it be something like a TF. Heck, for that matter, finishing some missions for a certain contact (not to spoil) for such a prize would make a lot of sense, offer either a random recipe roll or the Knife, so that those who don't care about the latter can get something too.
* - Small, so as to keep the idea of "only being 100 total" plausible. 100 is the max, in other words, but 50 is better. -
I don't think OP is asking what our opinion of the "top" (i.e. best) server is, but rather their population rankings. I would define it as "where the most people consider home, or at least can be found more often", in which case 37 and Ironblade sound about right.

Quote:About as good as the rest of the world who don't live near hero con feel whenever they get given special gifts.Quote:I don't see the equivalency here. Were you promised that if you *didn't* go to HeroCon, you'd get a gift that people at HeroCon wouldn't get? Did you spend time and money on *not* going to HeroCon specifically so you could get that gift, and then watched as HeroCon attendees got the special gift anyway?
When I saw the thread was by P P, I knew what it'd be about, and what it wouldn't have. I also knew half of it would be arguing about her. It beats me why some people are offended by her so. -
MA secondary for Blasters, as mentioned. Stone Melee, Axe, and Mace for Scrappers. Poison for whoever.
That's all I really care about. -
Quote:Combine these two and you have me, with a caveat. I play games 2-3 hours almost every night, but not just Co*, in fact I only play it about 8 hours a week. (In truth I haven't logged on at all for about 3 weeks now, Aion has me hooked.)Casual - Uses mostly SOs; little/no market engagement; little/no farming; few 50s/high level characters; typically many alts; plays around 10 hours a week or less
Average - Uses a mixture of SOs, cheap sets, may have a few expensive IOs per character; moderate market engagement; has 4-10 50s/high level characters or dozens of moderately leveled alts; plays 10-20 hours a week
- I'm about half SO half IO, never go looking for AVs to fight and rarely bother with TFs or SFs, and am decidedly "meh whatever" about looking for Merits.
-I play around at the Market, but I'm not looking to get rich, and I sell all salvage and recipes for 5. If I make an IO, I'm planning to slot it, not turn it over.
- I refuse to plan characters out ahead of time using an external source like Mids, I decided at the very beginning to only use in-game and fellow-player sources (and then ignore the latter when they start mentioning Mids). To me planning out numbers takes all the magic out of the game. I don't care if people DO enjoy juggling numbers, mind you*, but I do reserve the right to not care what they then say ought to be done.I will make decisions on my own about whether to take certain things or not, like Stamina, and plan for them, but nothing is automatic or "required" by a certain level.
- I've been known to farm but it's rare and I don't get on teams to do it. Note that my definition of "farming" here = "reset maps sometimes", usually on low-level struggling characters who've just leveled and made the enemies -1s. Now there's I16. (I don't think of street-sweeping as farming, it's more like hunting-and-gathering.) I don't consider farming part of the equation of "casual" or not, personally, but some do so just mentioning it.
- I have two 50s, Hero and Villain, pushed solely so I could access the new ATs, and it turns out I only like the Villain ones. I have a couple of characters 40+, who might never make 50. I consider 50 the end of the game, an opinion I doubt is widespread, but it does keep me from complaining about lack of end-game content (which I DO believe we have, I just don't do it.) I have never fought Hamidon, aside from that one red-side mission where you fight a weaker version of it, I've never "raided".
* - I ****ing hate making disclaimers, honestly, but if I don't someone inevitably feels they have to defend themselves. People can do whatever the heck they want! -
Just posting in an epic thread. For varying values of epic.
-
I don't use rep as a tool specifically to disagree or agree with anyone. To me that's not what it's for, when I disagree, I either post to say so or just roll my eyes at such blatant incorrectness and move on. When I give rep, it's all based on how the poster puts their ideas across.
Even if I completely disagree with someone, if they make a logical case, or are witty or clever with words, I give them positive rep. Whether I generally approve of them or not as a poster is in my opinion irrelevant. Obviously, people who get good rep from me with almost always coincide with my general approval of them, but I've given red to people who I otherwise liked as well. If someone's a jerk or being condescending or insulting, they get red regardless of whether they're on my "side" or not. -
Sadly I cannot yet declare this thread epic. OP neglected crucial phrases. Never fear though, for I am here to correct this oversight. Ahem.
Quote:to not merge the severs is a slap in the face. no wondr the game is dieing sense its now city of civilians, ironic becase the dev's haet villians. it also lax ponys, wich in this day and aeg is innconcievable. if the mrkets arent merged, i will tell all y friends and we will unsubscribe in mass. my words fall on def ears tho, only cartel matters on forums. im off to co. -

Episode 2 was the second-best of the series. In order, best to least: V, II, III, IV, I, ..., ..., ..., VI. (Oh, if only they had stuck with the Wookiees....)
Honestly, the only time I've ever had a problem with CGI was in Van Helsing and that one James Bond movie.
I have no pink Imps. My Fire/Storm has firey-looking fire already. Beats me why pink is the new orange. -
I don't mind blind invites at all. I accept all invites unless I'm about to log or something. In fact I've noticed a big decrease in blinds, been getting a tell first for months now, not that it's necessary.
