The Great Character Bio Round Up Hoe Down a Go Go!
Wait.... wouldn't the Origin by definition INCLUDE the backstory? I'm confused.
By Origin, I mean Science/Mutation/Magic/Natural/Technology.

OK, I'll give this a shot in anticipation of a character I'm going to create once Going Rogue hits:
1. Name: Bang-Bang and gender: female.
2. Archetype: blaster and power sets: dual pistols and (most likely) devices, including pools: unknown as of now.
3. Origin: natural.
4. A quick description of their appearance: 6' tall, athletically-built caucasian woman with short blue hair (possibly a wig). She wears tinted glasses that hide her eyes, a black patent-leather bodysuit, a gun belt, a dark purple suede leather jacket and dark purple patent leather boots.
(Sometimes, I wish there could be a Dev thumbs up button for quality posts, because you pretty much nailed it.) -- Ghost Falcon

Save Ms. Liberty (#5349) Augmenting Peacebringers The Umbra Illuminati
Hmm, okay, I'll play. I have a character that's lacking a really good story, the one I had in mind was weak and only got lamer as it went along, so I just rolled the character and promised a story later. She's only level 5 because I don't like not having a bio. :/
1. The Silent Force, female. (The name is why I rolled her, thank you Within Temptation.)
2. Fire/Storm Corruptor, no pools yet but she'll fly.
3. Magic.
4.
She's supposed to look ethereal, ghostly, and I liked the idea of a ghost with a bloody stripe across half its face.
The original idea I had was an elemental force, fire and storm being the bane of ships and sailors everywhere, which was captured somehow and after some testing turned out to be an Irish girl lost on a cruise ship [x] centuries ago. I dunno, it sounded good to begin with but I'm not satisfied with it, it's more an outline than a story.
"Ghostly"? "Bloody stripe over half a face"?
Kratos' (the Ghost of Sparta's) long lost cousin?
Heh, if only I could get into dual blades, huh? Nah, I didn't have Kratos in mind actually, but now it'll be tough to deny that. So thanks a whole lot. :P
That's what I'm here for!
I'll have a go at this. I have great banter binds for this character, but thus far I've been at a loss to write a sufficiently awesome biography.
Name: Baroness Munchhausen. Female
Powersets: Electrical Melee / Shield Defense (scrapper)
Origin: Mutation
Appearance: typical Heraclea character, fairly tall and robust, long black hair. Wears an English monocle. Three costumes so far:
- black minidress with fishnets and high heeled boots
- black buckled leather
- tan jacket over black tank top, camo slacks and duster hat.
Shield logo is the "Bird" heraldic eagle.
Some of her sample binds:
"You cannot win, $target. I once defeated the entire Red Chinese army with a packet of Alka-Seltzer."
"Remind this $target about how I held off a thousand ninjas in Macao with a nail file."
"Don't try to climb K2 like I did, $target. I broke a heel."
"In the Peruvian Andes, we used to use $targets as bait in the tarrasque traps."
"I taught Ms. Liberty everything she knows, $target. About fighting, anyways. That trick with the jello shots was her own idea."

She's not just any girl, but an aspiring witch in the magicks of the old Celts, and a bit of a thief, too. She's on this particular ship to escape the Irish constabulary, because she has stolen a religious relic- the teeth of St. Elmo.
When the ship encounters a vicious storm on the way to the New World, our Witch girl uses the relic in combination with her magick to save herself, making a blood sacrifice of the rest of the crew. Since she played by the rules, St. Elmo has no choice but to honor her spellbound contract and empower her. However, her bloody sacrifice was so abhorrent, he brands her with a bloody scar and curses her to walk the Earth until the end of days.
Her true name has been lost to the ages, because to speak it aloud was to literally curse a sailing ship to doom.

The beauty of this kind of character was you can pretty much write whatever you want and it doesn't have to make sense or sound plausible. In fact it works better the less plausible you get!

Ok...I don't usually do Bio's, so this sounds like a great opportunity!
1. Giant Robot Birdhead - Male?
2. Traps/Archery defender with superjump.
3. Technology
4. A giant robot with a bird head.
1. Dead Frozen Bunny - Male
2. Stone/Ice Dominator
3. Natural
4. A blue zombie bunny.
1. Sheets to the Wind - Male!
2. Archery/Storm Corruptor
3. Natural
4. A pirate with a bow. Storm powers are colored the color of pirate B.O. after 6 months at sea. Also, he has a kilt.
5. Mostly, I need a reason for a pirate to have a bow.

She's collected such a huge case file on dirt and blackmail material and every leader, chief and agent around the world, that she can work both sides of a conflict with impunity. In fact, working both sides against each other to her personal advantage has become her hallmark and M.O.

Disney-esque animatronic robot gains sentience and hunts down line jumpers and litter bugs.
Dead Frozen Bunny
Missing link/monstrosity found frozen in the Alaskan tundra. Defrosted, reanimated, and PISSED!
Sheets to the Wind
Maybe he can't use a musket/blunderbus for fear of igniting so of his own... emanations?

Anyway, I like MaHaBone23's suggested bio (sorry Heraclea - yours is maybe a little too close to Laura Croft), so with a little tweaking, I'll probably use that.

Real Name: Justin Hopkins
Age:22
DOB: 11/08/1986
Affiliations: Reserver member of Freedom Phalanx, Full-Time member of (blank)
Equipment:
Utility Belt:contains inspirations and other needed supplies
Costume: Fireproof, water proof, nearly indestructable, keeps his body temprature
regulated at a comforrtable level.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
POWERS
Justins power is rather unique, He has the ability to manipulate the inertia of himself and
any matter he is in contact with*. This shows itself in many different abilities.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Invulnerability: By increasing his own mass to a very dense state he makes himself, effectively,
Invulnerable, he usually does this by only increasing the mass of certain part of his body at a
time.**
Super Strength: Justin ability allows him to change the center of the mass of an object and in efect
change the mass. This alows him to lift thing many times his own wieght with no ill effect to the
object or it's sorroundings
Flight:Justins flight his achieved by lowering his own mass and increasing the mass of the air
with which he is in contact. flight is then achieved by pushing ambient "heavy" air about him.
This ability does not restrict him to places withand atmosphere. Since space is not a perfect
vaccum, Justin can accelerate by "pushing" himself of dust and gas.
Super Speed: Justin high acceleration comes from lower his own mass to an arbitrarily small
amount.
ENHANCED SENSES
Super Hearing:Justins increased sensitivity is created increasing or decreasing the wieght of
various components of his hear without altering his hearing mechanism. His increased frequency
range is created by creating tempature or density gradients in the air, or withing the componenet
of his ear, shifting sounds into his audible range.
Super Sight:Justin is able to alter the absorb/emission spectrum of molecules or atoms, using this
ability Justin can then use shift the band of frequecy his eye are senitive to.

HISTORY
Justin Hopkins was born in Paragon city in 1986 to Barbara and Gary Hopkins. His parents were
both normal humans. Justin was a very normal child, he went to school and played like an other
kids his age. He sat at the window everyday and watched the heroes fly by. His parents instilled
him with very strong morals.
Everything changed when Justin was sixteen, His father was picking him up from school, Justin was
Just learning to drive. His father let him drive on the way home. The drive was going Smoothly until
a patch of ice suddenly appeared in front of the car and Justin lost control. The car slammed into a
brick wall. All Justin remembers is waking up and knocking the door off it's hinges and pulling his
father to safety. The paramedics got on scene and took Justins dad to the hospital.
Justin sat on the curb for a moment before calling his mother. The shock started to wear off
while he was talking to his mom. about halfway through the conversation Justin realized he was
completely unhurt, not a scratch. He remembered knocking off the door.
Months past and Justins father was back on his feet. Justin had ben elated since he discovered his
unique abilities. Justins parents had been making plans for him to attend a local school for gifted kids.
The Paragon institute for Metahumans, called P.I.M for short, was sending out an evaluator speak
to Justin. The conversation didn't last long. The evaluator told Justins parents that he was more than
qualified to attend the school.
(OOC: skips ahead six year, school years will be handled in a seperate story)
Six years later and Justin is Just graduating from P.I.M. He was more than ready to being his career,
but first he had to have a costume made for the ceremony. While not required it was considered
tradition. Justin though long and hard about what he wanted his costume to be. After a couple weeks
he had designed a costume based on Statesman, his idol, The colour and symbol were the same
but justins was simpler. After graduation Justin was pulled aside by his combat instructor and told
that he had was very proud of him but that he needs to find a group to succeed in his career.
(Story picks up here with whatever group he joins)
* Idea for this was taken from Ben tippits "a Unified Theory of Supermans Powers"
**Invulnerability was not covered in the aboves report. I am making an assumption based on his research.

Rare is the time I come up with a character without thinking of a bio and/or concept first, but Tinderbelle is the exception.
Originally she was to be part of a villainous duo with her sister Cinderella (seewhatIdidthere?), but that name was taken and thus the concept fell flat. I figure Tinder's mother was the one exposed to convenient radiation/chemicals while she was pregnant with her, but that's about all I can come up with.

Now playing at an MA near you: Dragonslayers #335375
Got a character or build you love, but just can't reason out a good backstory for them? Why not let the masses have their way with it, and maybe- just maybe- something good could come of it!
The idea is simple. Post your mystery character's:
1. name and gender.
2. Archetype and power sets, including pools
3. Origin
4. a quick description of their appearance (ugly/weird/sexy/spikes/skulls/cat girl/zombie/weapons of choice/etc.)
5. Let the never-fail creative magic of thousands of anonymous weirdos breath a while new dimension into your alter ego! Or just post for yucks like it was Mad Libs.
6. Dazzle your friends and intimidate newbs!
