I've deleted toons to make them differet ATs, keeping the name and saving the costume for their overhaul.
A MA/WP scrapper turned into a Fire/Rad controller.
A Spine/Dark scrap turned into a WS and back.
Soon, a MA/Electric Scrap will turn into a something/something something. [Might make him a stalker and cross him over in GR] -

Some of the best costume pieces can be unlocked through missions. At 20 you can run the cape mission, which was ramped up in diffiulty lately. I tend to not be able to solo the last mish, but, really, I don't like capes but will unlock them for the scarf.
If you go with blades, there are quite a few to unlock. The rarest, imo, is the Rularoo [sp?] sword. I have the katana, woot.
There are several routine, non-supergroup based events that happen regularly on certain servers too. Champion and Freedom have Tanker Tuesdays. A small group does a fire/radiation controller only team on Mondays on Freedom. Check your server's forum here at the forums.
The guides here are great, but you may just want to dork around with your first toon and not worry about opimization yet. After all, you have a second build.
my personal reccomendations for an easy toon for a beginner, fire/ice blaster or katana/wp scrapper. Some archetypes, like spine/ or MA/ scrappers are not that easy. Same for kinetic defenders or controllers.
I don't play villian side. Too gloomy for me. But hey, welcome to the game.
If you do decide to head off after a month or two, NCsoft never deletes your characters. But after 60 days if you have a bid up in the market the money, or the item you're trying to sell, will dissapear. -
Trying to stay on the topic of super heroes until the OP returns:

Quote:I have no problem re-doing it with the Fire/Rads. The lobby scene is just a farce compared to how faceplanty it was on all tank teams. And really, the dopplegangers just melt. It's sad. Muah ha ha ha ha.I have not done the new Posi yet... I know it was just done but hopefully we can re-run in the future.
I assume the leader must have done posi 1 to get posi 2? -
Yeah, I missed it too. Looks like definitely next week we'll have two teams running.
And I've never done the second half of ht enew Posi -
-
Wow, no responses. And a picture of a guy throwing a cat at a fast food employee.
Now that's just bad. -
Save up, but LotG +7.5% for...I think 280. Or when upset you can't get something off the market, stomp over to the Merit Vendor and blow huge merits finishing a set.

Allegedly I got ignored for it. Not like that advise isn't all over the place.

My quickie notes for myself. Note: if we ghost this sounds really short. Pretty short anyway.
Manticore TF
Manticore's in Bricks.
- Shut down Research Facility. In AP, KR, SC, or Sky, so Yellow line it. Defeat all.
- Catch Countess Crey. [Crey's Folly]. Defeat Agent Wilson and his men.
- See What You Can Beat Out of Crey. [Bricks]. Defeat 25 Crey.
- Get Data From Crey Facility. [Bricks]. Click computer glowy.
- Catch the Countess. [unknown location]. Just kill Manning and room.
- Talk w Ms Liberty [Atlas]
- Rescue Councilman Birch. [unknown location]. Kill those guarding him.
- Defeat 40 Crey in Crey's Folly.
- Defeat Hopkins and his minions. [unknown locaiton] Just killing him and room will end TF.

Dumb people?
1. Get out of Atlas.
2. Don't accept blinds.
3. Dont' roll a "healer." Usually it's idiots who feel they need them. Control > Damage. Debuffs > All. -
Not in on the controversey, but a quick note.
You are slotting Aegis and Multi-Strike for AoE and FC defense, but you skipped temperature protection which can give you 10% FC res. Unless you crave AoE def, which I fine nearly useless, especially in those low amounts.
It's a cool concept, do what you want, but understand your powers.
[I'd lose RotP to getthe temp protection, actualy, no, I don't play /fire]
edit: typoed damage for defense -
Quote:Not noticeably.H1) Is the all Smashing damage a serious problem at higher levels?
Quote:2) Should I skip Crippling Axe Kick? I've read that the power's commonly skipped by MA users due to its quirks but I've never had the chance to try it out.
Quote:3) What's the most synergistic secondary? I've got a feeling that Dark Armor would be preferable for Oppressive Gloom but I'm not sure. My concept for this toon is a shapeshifter so I've got a lotta leeway in terms of what works.
Quote:4) How well does MA fare against very hard targets? By definition I'm a casual gamer. In CoX terms I'm a little bit more. I'm not looking to solo AVs or take on a pylon but I like knowing that if an Elite Boss pops up in a mission I don't necessarily need to scour the team window. -
Make a build in Mids with all the pool powers, etc, you prefer and we'll take a look at it.
If you want S/L, you need to take ice as you epic pool. Breaks the theme, but it's the only one with def. -
I used to take a day off when a GTA or Ratchet & Clank came out. Only the major ones, not like, Liberty City Stories or anything.
-
Just verifying, yep, I'll bring Trixi Chalk.
I'm tempted to get out my fire/ice blaster as she just got inferno and I've not used it once. -
I'm not going to be making it tomorrow. I was really looking forward to it since it sounds, from the buzz here, that it'd be the first time we had to make multiple teams.
See ya next week though. -
Quote:Well, I'm wrong then. Hmmph.I've never experienced falling damage suppressing my stealth (and super speeding around Grandville with Celerity tends to result in falling damage)...
So...the IO and Super would be good for falling, aka stubbing my toe?
Excellent...except I hate running into walls. -
Falling will suppress stealth. Either that or I've misinterpreted many horrific events in my toon's careers.

Quote:Re: WWYea, was in WW looking at the enhancements and they are damned expensive for a new level 50. Given time then maybe but not at the moment.
I have seen the fire/rad superteam post on here but unfortunately our time zones are not going to allow me to be able to join you, I am from the UK.
Donna, thanks for that suggestion. I will take a look.
I tend to look at everything from 37 up. In that range the percents don't change too much. To me a 47 is the same as a 50, and you can sometimes get them for 10% of the 50.
Also, remember to look at the other side of the coin. Sometimes, oddly, crafted cost less than the recipe. And remember, at 50 you can always buy the unwanted SOs at that level as placeholders as you slowly build your toon. Though it might be a shock to lose lots of rech. Right now my 46 [though a katana/wp] is carrying around the level 50 enh she'll need for when she gets 47. Some things are much cheaper at 50, and it's also the area where the marketers make all their money.
[sorry if that rambled more than usual, I'm eating lunch] -
OP:
Mine's only a 27 and thus slotted horribly. I don't worry about them too much at low level so I haven't really done much, and won't until around 33. Accuracy, damage, speed, in that order. Lock 'em down and burn 'em up. I don't slot for hold unless it's a nice proc or Basilisk for the speed. They'll be dead by the time the hold wears off anyway. Hot Feet and Choking Cloud are your armor. Flashfire and Fire Cages are your opening moves and spam the cages and char like they were going out of style.
Also, meet us on the hill in Talos at 8pm on Monday for the all Fire/Rad team(s). We might do the second half of Posi this Monday. Not sure if the team did the second half after I logged or not. But anything works.
Donna:
I'm not worried about much of that stuff on a Fire/Rad. They buff self and others and destroy and debuff all enemies. By putting those holds in your attacks you're cutting your toon's nuts off. No damage enhancement in Fire Cages or Char? And flashfire at 32? Six slotting CJ on top of that...We clearly have different philosophies on this. -
- Stealth IO in [any] Sprint + Stealth = Invis so you can lay down the boombox in a group of enemies. Stub your toe and your stealth, from the pool power only, is supressed and then you're on IO only, I think.
- Stealth IO in hover + Super Speed or Stealth = Invis. Not likely to stub your toe. You could use fly too. Can't lay down boombox, you're flying. But, if you land, you have 2 minutes of the IO still working.
- Stealth IO in Recall Friend [or other TP] + SS or Stealth = a freaky way to do it. But if you're a service toon, ghosting and rec friending, etc, you can put one in Rec Friend. It will not make them invisible for two minutes it will make you that way. I did this once, but it was when I found that Sup Invis was already topped out.
- Steath IO + Super Speed = lay down the boombox in a group of badguys, but you might run into walls. Is stealth suppressed when you stub your toe?
