  1. Finally bought points! I knew that eventually they'd put something worth buying on sale! I got all ten salvage inventory increases plus two recipe increases and I'm totally naked inside my underwear right now!

But I was wondering; what's the difference between purchasing several individual x10 salvage inventory items (there's 10 listed, like 1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc), and just buying one but increasing the quantity in the shopping cart? Is it the same thing? And for that matter, is 10 the maximum amount we can buy? Because I got all ten and it looks like the market will sell me more.

    This right here.

When I'm running a new character I'm counting on those lucky Luck Charm or Spell Scroll drops to fund my early purchases.
  3. Personally, I think the set looks silly to begin with. When it first came out, I couldn't believe that this is what people had been clamoring for - ridiculously oversized weapons, half of which would look like crap even if they were of believable size? It was definitely an easy set for me to pass on.

Perhaps if it had some better looking models, it might not seem so crummy. Actual "weapons", as opposed to the board with knives sticking out of it or the jet-powered hammer (are you kidding me?), would certainly be an improvement.

I am particularly interested in the pros and cons of the two on a couple of different scrapper types that don't necessariy NEED the defense of shadow Meld but may not have a lot of AOE. so:

    Invulns

    Will powers

    Super Reflexes

How about these guys when paired with primaries that are mainly ST?

For example, I have a DM/Invuln with fire mastery and Fireball has completely changed my ofensive attack style. Would it be worth it to trade fire balst and firelball and char off form something like Moonbeam, Shadow meld, and dark blast (or the GW hold)?

Thanks for any thoughts or examples of what any of you guys may have done with these..

I always go with whatever fits my character concept. Went with Body Mastery for my main (claws/invuln). I used to take Conserve Power on my way to Physical Perfection, but Recovery Serum does pretty much the same thing - so now I take Focused Accuracy for the perception bonus, which invulnerability lacks (plus it adds a little bit of + to hit for high-def targets).
  5. They sure do make it easy to save points. Hopefully one day they'll put something on the market that I might want to buy. As it stands, most of the stuff they’ve been peddling, I wouldn’t use even if it were free.

Same here. My apologies to the other members of the mothership raid.

Forums are loading slow as hell too.

Im not sure what NCSoft can offer players that would make me switch back at this point.

I feel the exact same way. I dropped my subscription as soon as Freedom went live and was astounded at how little the game changed for me! Really, the only things that bothered me were the fact that I couldn't maintain my SG base, and the limited number of character slots available (I don't do incarnate stuff, other than the Alpha on my main). Thanks to our reward tier system deal thingy, we can unlock junk that we would otherwise not have access to, simply for having previously purchased OTHER junk we wanted. As a tier 8, when I dropped to Premium, I still had access to AE, inventions, the market, and other stuff that would still be gated to me were this a different game without a rewards tier system. Of course I still re-subbed for 14 months during the winter deal, just because I’m a helluva guy.

In my opinion, they shouldn't give so much away for free. Either that, or give VIPs MORE than they get now. As it is, it's hard to justify spending money on a subscription when, as a veteran player, I’m pretty much given the farm for nothing.

Look at it this way - most of the stuff that is unavailable to free players, wasn't available to PAYING customers for YEARS. In fact, I might go so far as to guess that free players now have access to MORE than paying customers used to get - new zones and powersets and whatnot that we didn't have back then.

    Tights!

Hi. Most of my characters wear tights (when I think "super heroes", I think tights), so I would love to see more options available.

I like the basic skin tight spandex look, and never use anything with "ribs" or textures or any of that junk. The problem is, when making a hero with just spandex, you've got to do something to make the relative plainness of the costume stand out as unique. Unfortunately, most of the patterns we have don't match up between tops and bottoms, unless you just use the same pattern for both - which isn't very creative (store-bought costumes are lame). I think it would be great if we had more patterns that were mix-n-matchable between tops and bottoms.

Also, heroes in tights (mine anyway) often have chest symbols. What sucks is that most of the symbols are so big that they lay directly over the patterns on our outfits (which looks bad). Currently, if we want to avoid this, we have to either forgo a pattern on our upper body, or are left to pick between one of the few patterns that don't mess up the symbol (I dunno how many characters I have that use the "fat stripe" pattern...). But you see similar stuff all the time. Some chick running around with her chest symbol half on her outfit, and half tattooed to her skin - looks ridiculous.

So I guess my main two suggestions would be…

    1. More pattern combinations that match between tops and bottoms.
    2. More patterns that don’t get in the way of chest symbols.

Also, I’d just like to say that I’ve been waiting for “super hero tights” to get some attention in the costume creator for a LONG time, so thanks for finally getting around to it!

Aha! Thanks! Although in my own defense, it IS the Winter Event after all, and these snowballs ain't gonna to throw themselves...

I'll bet Statey falls down a poison-tipped elevator shaft. I don't see it happening any other way.
  11. Statesman dies? Crap. I guess instead of reading the forums, I should play the game.
  12. I think a lot of people who play this game are way too uptight, and I wonder how many of them watch Family Guy on a regular basis while laughing their ***** off.
  13. Hi again. I just wanted to update this topic for anyone who might have been curious. It would indeed appear that access to the third build is in fact retained, even after an account goes premium. Not exactly game breaking news, but there ya go. Anyhow, have a great Monday.
  14. Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread (subscription went premium for a bit), but I just wanted to say thanks for the replies!
  15. Hi. I don't normally read the marketing forum, but I've got a question regarding the buying and selling of IOs behind the dumpster in back of Wentworths.

When selling stuff for more than the influence cap (off the market obviously), how do you know the other guy's not going to rip you off? For instance, I recently got a Gladiator's Armor +3% Def recipe for 2bil from the market, but now I've changed my mind and would rather have the cash. So if I was to list the IO here on the forums and some wretched son of a ***** offered me big money for it, how would the deal work? Does he just hand over the dough, hoping that I'm an honest bloke? Or do I give him the IO and pray he's not the thieving ******* that he probably is? Because since we're dealing with influence above the cap, there's going to have to be a little interval while he's switching toons or something, right? How does either of us know the other one isn't going to just log off?

    Anyhow, thanks.
  16. Hmmm, thanks guys, guess I'll just have to wait and see. No big deal either way really; just curious.
  17. I never realized this, but I guess our third build is associated with Mendor Ramiel's arc and the Alpha slot. When I downgrade to Premium status, will I lose access to this build? I ask because I just got finished decking this particular build out last week, not wanting to waste a respec. Had I realized that it was some sort of "incarnate" build slot, I would have simply respec'd my second build.

  20. I think the points brought up by the OP are right on the money. I also think they need to introduce a [censored]-load of new power pools to diversify things.

Once you fight down your duplicate and talk, Silent Blade sees that you were telling the truth and kills your double. She says she will leave you be and she has completed her mission having killed "insert your name here".

Some of this appears in chat, some in clues, some in the dialog windows. But it is all there.

Yeah I did get all of that, but it never explained why I had a double in the first place. I mean, I regularly hang out at all the hip clam-bakes in Paragon; you'd think I'd have seen this guy at a party or something. But he just shows up in my Morality mission and starts whaling on me while Silent Blade blurts out that she's here to stab one of us for killing a cop. And that was it.

It would have made a good Alignment mission for sure, but for a Morality mission there wasn't much going on compared to the other Morality missions I played. Just seemed to be an excessive amount of bread on that sandwich, and not much salami. The mission suggests that the double actually thinks he's the real me, and that I'M the impostor, which made me think that maybe he was from Praetoria or something. I was confused, but then the mission ended, and I started to wonder if I'd imagined the whole thing.

Not sure if it relates exactly to the double found in the morality mission (haven't run that one myself) but you will find the contents very interesting.

Thanks! Actually, for whatever reason, I haven't gotten around to running any of the arcs from i17, but I definitely will soon.

Sorry, I suppose I should have specified that I was maintaining my level 50 Hero status.
