Now people are just getting silly. As if controller powers do no damage at all.
Sure, slotting them for damage is a silly idea, but extra damage is still damage as long as the controller/defender in question is still buffing, debuffing and all that stuff. -
Dark/Time for me. Of course then I get to learn how to actually play a controller
-
Well I'm sick of ranged and want more melee! Nyeh!

Quote:Afraid not.Superior Scrapper's Critical Strike/Recharge: Improves the Critical Hit Chance of a power by 40%, and the Recharge of a Power by 23.2%
Headsplitter = 10% critical chance
Bosses = 10% critical chance
ATIO = 40% critical chance
=60% chance to crit bosses. WHAPOW!
15% critical chance on a boss, 40% OF 15% is 6, 15% + 6% = 21% chance to critical hit on a boss.
At least, that makes the most sense unless they want to allow scrappers to make one of their powers insanely overpowered. -
Yeah, I have to say I don't understand all the fuss about ZOMG ENDURANCE ISSUES AAAAAH either. On my TW/DA there are times when I get to about 50% endurance, but then I just wait like 3 seconds and it's back up. I'd like to think this is because TW does so much damage most things die in a single momentum chain, so you don't really need to fight and fight and fight.
I suppose slotting 2 endurance redux into all my attacks helps too, but it's not as if I'm missing anything by doing that aside from 2-3% extra damage. Oh, the humanity :P -
I'll raise you one better and fight you with my TO'd out radiation/kinetics corrupter!
-
That is actually shockingly similar to how it actually looked, Zombie Man.
-
And once again the Primal dimension is saved thanks to a little pink haired catgirl :P
...And I suppose Xanatos and Ascendant helped a LITTLE :P -
Short version? Rocks fall, (nearly) everyone dies.
Long Version? Meteors fall. Stuff happens. (nearly) everyone dies. -
Got Pinny on Exalted. That's really the only name I want/need :P
-
I'm really liking Katana/EA. You take a lethal damage set that does respectable damage and recharges fairly quickly, and make it recharge even faster. That and since EA is typed defense instead of positional, divine avalanche isn't all that useful, allowing you to pick some other power.

Its a typical day in Paragon City; the sidewalks are busy with people going to and from anywhere, the Paragon Police Department patrol the streets doing what they can to keep the city crime free. Suddenly, the ground shakes in Atlas, Kings Row, Perez Park; everywhere adjacent to Galaxy City. There is panic in the streets as citizens rush to their homes, while others flock to any available television set they can find, hoping to learn what just happened.
Television sets everywhere flicker on, all sharing the same channel. The words nobody hoped they would read as the headlines of todays news cast: Paragon City under Attack? Disaster in Galaxy City!
A special news announcement. A voice on the television says, as the news caster for the Paragon City News appears on screen. Unlike other news reports, he, as well as the other people in the studio, seem to be in a state of shock, and had not had time to properly prepare this breaking news report.
Disaster struck today as several meteorites have fallen onto Galaxy City. Circumstances surrounding this mysterious event are unknown. Unfortunately, none of our reporters are available to The news caster leans over as someone whispers in his ear, Sammy? That rookie? Shes never done something like this before! Uh-huh Uh-huh All right, fine. The anchorman clears his throat and continues, It seems we do have someone at the scene! Sammy, are you there? The images on the television change from inside of the news room to outside. The focus of the camera is a teenage girl, dressed up and doing what she can to make herself look professional. To either side of her are ruined buildings, collapsed roads and cracks in the earth. In the sky, meteors can be seen falling towards other parts of Galaxy City.
Yes, Im here. As you can see behind me and all around, Galaxy City is in complete ruin. We have no idea at this time if this was some type of attack or a freak accident, but either way this is not a good sign. The novice reporter, Sammy, runs a hand through her golden bangs and lets out a small sigh, The Freedom Phalanx and Longbow arrived at the scene moments after the first meteor struck, and have been working tirelessly since to rescue everyone they can.
Hearing the groups name called, Back Alley Brawler turned his attention towards the young reporter, Hey! What are you doing? This is no place for a kid like you, get out of here! he yelled out as he started to make his way towards Sammy and her camera crew.
Startled by the sudden noise, Sammy turned to face him, but as soon as she heard him call her a kid, she exploded, Kid?! Im not a kid- -- Stopping herself, she took a deep breath and continued, I know, I know! We needed to cover what happened here; we were just leaving. Come on, everyone! she signaled to her crew and started walking off.
Whoa, look out! Back Alley Brawler called out as he lunged towards a creature that had appeared behind the news crew.
The camera turned only to find that behind them all were creatures that seemed to be made from the earth itself. They were huge masses of rock given a humanoid form, and now the Freedom Phalanx was locked in battle with them.
Weve gotta get out of here! one of Sammys crew yelled out, before being stopped by Sammy herself.
Not yet! Well go a little bit more, and then stop! She then turned towards the camera and began to speak into her microphone, Look over there! Its one of Paragons heroes! Lets see if we can get an interview!
Sammy runs up to the hero clad in silver power armor with blond hair and begins to bombard her with a series of questions. Hi there, hero! Mind if I ask you a few questions? Without even waiting for an answer, she begins.
First off, would you like to tell our viewers out there what your name is and what your abilities are?
The young hero looked surprised and shaken, due to the downfall of the city, yet she nodded and hurriedly smoothed down her white skirt. She spoke with the slightest of a German accent, U-uh, Im Armor On, and an Energy Blaster. She replied, before glancing around the area; looking more anxious than others.
Uh-huh, interesting! Are you part of any groups, or are you a loner?
Im from the Teen Phalanx Erm, shouldnt you be somewhere sa
So what are you doing out here? Helping Longbow save Galaxy or something else?
Armor On gave a nod, shifting her weight from foot to foot during the interview, Yes, Im looking for survivors. Uhm, if youll excuse me, I need to be going now! With a blast of blue energy, she was gone, her form seen reappearing in the distance of the camera, helping the other heroes.
Well, she sure ran off in a hurry! Maybe she was looking for something in all this chaos! Sammy watched as Armor On disappeared before continuing, Thats all we have for today. Were getting out of here before any more of those things show up. To recap: Galaxy City is in ruins, and now these creatures are appearing everywhere and attacking everyone they see! Whats worse, Longbow and Arachnos have taken to the skies in an attempt to take control of the zone. Well keep you updated on any latest developments as they happen. This is Sammy, signing out.
The television screen returns to images of the news room, its news caster and its crew unsure of what to think. You heard her! We need 24/7 coverage! Go! the anchorman called out, unaware that he was live. Well, you heard it here, folks! Disaster strikes Galaxy City! We encourage everyone to follow any instructions given by Longbow Personnel and to avoid going near Galaxy City from any entrance. Well keep you posted!
The picture fades out as the television switches to commercial.
((Now, you all might be wondering, What the hell is this? well, Ill tell you! With the launch of Issue 21 and the new tutorial out there, I thought it might be a good idea to let all you virtueites in on the action. Unfortunately, our main characters and other level 50s are unable to go into the tutorial unless a new character is made, so this is where this post comes in. The OP isnt anything special; all it is meant to do is provide an easy access point for any and all heroes to jump in to help save Galaxy City.
I only have two rules for this thread, and they are really more like guidelines than actual rules. 1: Have fun. This is not the place to be going around telling people what they can or cant do, or have only one persons hero steal the show: Everyone who wants to can get involved and do their part. 2: Please honor the ingame story. I know many of our characters can blink and suddenly change the face of the planet, but since this will be going on for who knows how long please try to keep the I come in and save all of Galaxy City with only my pinky finger. While Im asleep! posts to a minimum (and possibly zero.) Its not like Id do anything if someone does post something of that nature, but Id like it if we could all keep stuff within the limitations of the game world.
Aside from that, have fun and go crazy!)) -
I'd have some choice words for this thread, but then I realized that the top 20 or so SGs all farm for influence/prestige anyway, and that your SG's rank doesn't mean anything at all, so I decided against it.
So....Next time give some of that influence to me! -
skool sounds like school, and as such most people will see you spelling it as skool as being lazy.
Schule sounds like a speech impediment, but most people will still see that as being lazy.
Rule of thumb: If they ask or you feel like you need to say OOC: "oh btw when I say X I mean Y, he just talks that way" then you're probably going too far. -
As long as you stay away from the people who think arena matches solves any and all RP, or some of the more "out there" concepts and themes, you shouldn't have to worry about the whole "level = powar" deal.

Could have been commenting about the default character costume.

Hinting at wanting someone to leave just because you have a friend who wants to join is rude in it's own way. If you want to team up with your SG friend so badly that you feel the need to ruin someone else's enjoyment by denying them continued involvement in that team, you should probably quit that team and start a new one.
Personally I have half a mind to kick anyone who says anything similar to, "kick someone so my friend can join." but that is rude, too. And I rarely, if ever, lead teams :P -
Quote:You missed the first part of my post when I said it was entirely possible the OP was telling the truth. It's also likely that they were following the leaders instructions, maybe even to the point, and the leader may have been needlessly micromanaging the members and what they were doing (though why they'd do this, I don't honestly know why) or they decided that the leader didn't like this person, they were gonna be kicked, anyway.
-
I'll agree that I find tags like ((character is racist, sexist, treats women like trash, etc etc but player is a nice guy who'd never hurt a soul and would rather kill themselves than hurt an innocent bunny rabbit)) completely strange and contradictory. Regardless of whether you want to or not: your character has bits and pieces of you, the player, in them.
If being able to take on the personality of somebody completely different is some type of skill learned in the 3rd grade and I apparently fail at life for never learning it, please let me know.
Now then. Would I treat them differently or ignore them? I don't treat people differently because of what they put in their bio. Just look at my characters and you'll probably see why I don't discriminate. I only treat people the same as they treat me. If you treat me respectfully, I'll do the same for you. Treat me like crap, and I'll be sure to globally ignore you and possibly report you for harassment. -
Now, I hate to be the negative one like this, but anyone notice how the OP just happens to leave out everything else besides "person pm'd me with bad words, I replied back being the mature person I am and got kicked."
Were you the only person running around while everyone else was condensed around two areas? If so, then the bad person was most likely a raid leader tired of people who haven't learned to put league chat into one of their chat windows yet.
While it's entirely possible what you said did happen, I'd say it's also entirely likely that you weren't following the leader's instructions, got kicked for it, and are now on a personal vengeance quest to get as many people to never play with that person again as possible.
Also:
Popular crowd? What popular crowd? You mean the groups of people who make alts just to make it seem like their group of 3 people is bigger than it actually is? -

Low level teams are pretty strange when it comes to what works and what doesn't. Sometimes everybody needs to gather up in order to take things on, when in others the team can just do their own thing and succeed. Nalrok is right in the low levels tanks are just as squishy as everybody else.
I'd say it's really the leader's fault. First off, for his "my way or the highway" or "high and mighty" attitude. And secondly, as a leader he failed to recognize when things were already working for the team in favor of "his way", which broke the team apart. In MMOs its tempting to think that just because you're the leader you can change anything and everything, regardless of the circumstances, but you need to remember that in an MMO everybody else on that team are people. They aren't going to take kindly to being "commanded", so team leaders need to be extra careful. Heck, look at the BAF and Lamba trials. Even those still fail because people don't like the idea of listening to a single leader.
Yes, the team leader has the ability to kick members at will and yes, the team leader is usually the one to tell the team what to do unless they ask for another member's opinion. That pretty much means the team leader is allowed to kick anyone who doesn't listen to them, right? Yes, if you look at it simply from game mechanics, but any team leader with that attitude is going to find that eventually nobody will want to run teams where he/she is the leader. -
Quote:I do hope you're trolling, because unless you're on a 800*600 monitor there's no way the occasional red texts were annoying.Seriously, tho. I appreciate the powers that be taking a more active, friendly part in our collective community, but maybe big fat blocks of red text barking out the Phil Rizzutto play by plays is not the way to do it. Had it been anyone else blabbing out walls of text like that in global channels, I would have blacklisted them in a heartbeat.

Quote:Basically what I was thinking. The way the set is set up, it seems it would work better for a defender or corrupter than a controller. Of course, that's not to say it's a bad idea, just needs some work
Specifically regarding the set you've put forth, there's no way this could function as a Controller's main (primary) set. There's only 2 control powers in it. It WOULD be a decent secondary (buff/debuff) set though. -
Quote:So let's see here...You say you've essentially found out that night widows out damage claws scrappers, and are better team players...Why exactly do you still need a comparison? It seems you've found your answer in Night Widows being "better" than claws scrappers in every possible way (aside from Hp and endurance, but everyone can get massive +hp and recovery from sets, right?)I've spent quite a ton of time studying Scrapper Claws DPS... heck I could probably write a college thesis on it, and I'm pretty darn sure that Widows straight up out-DPS a Claws scrapper. I'd love to hear otherwise, but I'll need some numbers to back that up
I will say that I prefer my claws/SR scrapper over night widows, but I guess that doesn't matter much if I'm going to be outDPSed by them all the time. Yet then again, I don't really care about DPS, since nothing in this game requires a certain amount of DPS.
