Here's a nifty idea, Time Control
This one has come up again and again in the Suggestions forum. I know many people consider Grav control good enough/close enough to be time control, but frankly, its not.
I'd like to see a time control pet that is just a younger/lower level YOU. Say, fights as -1 with powers you had at -10, with no set bonuses or procs. Every time you log out, you are really popping forwadr into the future to help out the future you.
Stay Gold, Paragon. Stay Gold.

Gravity as time substitute? No, it's not, but I DO have a toon that's a Space/Time manipulator and Grav/Kin is perfect for that. You can seemingly suspend people in time, rip holes in the space-time continuum (with wormhole and propel), reverse or speed up time for your enemies or allies (with heals/debuffs) and on the whole you have a very satisfying concept. No, it's not specifically time control, but time/space just seems more fun to me anyway.
I'm kinda torn about wanting a time control set. On the one hand I'd love to try it out and it would probably be very fun, but on the other that would mean I'd have to re-roll Mr. Eternal who is level 50 to get the perfect concept for him. D: Oh well. As many times as it's been suggested I'm sure the devs have seen and noted it. There are tons of wanted powersets and they can only do so much at a time. If it's on the list it'll get here eventually, we just have to be patient.
So I was looking through the powers of the controller and notice something amazing missing. Time Control. What is up with that? How cool would it to have a power set like this;
Time Control Grasp of Dimensions- Use your power of time to create another dimension on a single foe. Watch as it immobilizes him, pulling him between two dimensions. This power does damage over time. Damage: Minor (DoT), Recharge: Moderate. Reverse Wounds- Reverse time, reversing the damage dealt to an ally. Recharge: Moderate. Loophole- See ahead of time to find a the weakness of your enemies. This power decreases the defense of an enemy and all other enemies around him. Recharge: Slow. Hit of the Century- Control the timezone around a single foe, making him feel pain from his past, present, and future. Damage: High, Recharge: Moderate. Fast-Forward- You can now harness the power to effect yourself and all nearby teammates. You see ahead to the future at what your teams defense and damage is at a higher level, causing your teams defense and damage to increase for a short period of time. Recharge: Slow. Time Trap- You slow down the time around you, making all nearby foes slow down. Any foe within melee range is slowed down and has decreased recharge time, endurance recharge, and attack speed. Recharge: Very Long. Replacing the Ground- Select a certain spot of the ground and watch the past do its work. You reverse time on a specific spot of the ground, causing the ground to rewind quickly and shoot upward in the form of multiple jagged rocks. This traps all foes, within the selected area, in the spikes, causing them to become disorient and damaged over time. Damage: Moderate (DoT), Recharge: Slow. Relapse- Reverse any fallen hero's damage dealt to them, causing them to revive with half health and half endurance. This power drains the caster of most of his endurance. Recharge: Very Long. Father of Time- You know so much about time, the Father himself seeks your training. Summon him in combat to make it a real battle. Recharge: Very Long. And yes this is nine powers just like the main power sets of controllers. Sure, some of these might need work and their recharge times and damage might need changed. But this would be a great idea! ![]() Do whatever you can to get this idea out. Originally thought up by Darkovias. You can email @darkovias (Me) in CoX for any feedback and what not. I mainly toon around on Prototype Mk 1 and Storm of Flames. See you in the game ![]() |
Specifically regarding the set you've put forth, there's no way this could function as a Controller's main (primary) set. There's only 2 control powers in it. It WOULD be a decent secondary (buff/debuff) set though.

Very cool. I would suggest to add a rather unique effect to the hold powers. The effect truly freezes time for those caught in the time hold. No recharge, no regen, no nothing.
Also, they will take no damage and are not affected by buff debuff (or other status etc.) effects for the duration of the hold. Makes sense since they are frozen in time.
However, and a big however, any damage and effects that are cast on them are during the hold, come due immediately after the hold finishes. So, they are frozen in time while the team can stack attacks and effects that trigger as soon as the hold stops. Wham!

I have always hoped for a Destiny/Luck/Fortune buff powerset, and that would go well with Time Control.
I also think it would be funny if the Time Control pet was yourself two levels ago, using the clone technology.
Is it just me or am I not seeing any holds? I only saw an immobiize and some slows.
Typical troller sets have single and group immob. and holds, plus 6 other powers.
I do like the concept a lot though.
Uber Talgrim - level 50 emp/dark defender
Uber Rod - level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper
Rod Valdr - level 50 invuln/SS tanker
Talgrim - level 50 ninja/dark mastermind
OMG!! Please add these costume designs now!

Tangentially related: It amuses me that so many "Control" sets are suggested that offer barely any actual control and are instead almost completely made up of support powers.
I realize that in a lot of games control effects are most common on support classes, but they're completely separate categories in the Co*verse. Is there really that much of a lack of distinction in the minds of so many people?
(This is no way was meant to belittle the OP, rather it's a general observation regarding suggestions and ideas.)

I hope they make this happen in the next big update!
