From the first day of the pre-order head start, I fell in love with this game.
Even beyond the game itself, this community is by far the most friendly, amazing group of e-people I've ever seen, and probably ever will. -
Here's my entry to this fine contest.
Plenty of recharge, plenty of end, a couple nifty tricks, room for your own personal touches and plenty of damage to go along with it. Thematically it can fit pretty much any concept, and minimizes redraw.
Highlights and Notes:
You start off at the HP cap, with 62.58 HP/Second regeneration (Bumping up to 161HP/Sec with IH). Reconstruction is available every 15 seconds, Moment of Glory by 68, and Dull Pain every 90 (Perma). Instant Healing will be up over half the time. With two stacks of DA, you are at 60% Defence for Lethal and Melee damage. All that along with 31% S/L Resist, 26% to Fire/Cold, and 14% to Energy/Negative is more than enough to keep you swinging your sword safely in the incarnate zones.
Hasten is perma also, but if you are offended by the glowing hands you don't lose very much performance by only using it in the extra tough situations. Additionally, the Purple Hold set in Char can be swapped for some Basilisks Gaze without losing very much in the way of set bonuses to help reduce the overall cost if that is an issue. Burnout is in the build as well for those special occasions where the fights going on a little longer than you'd like and IH is running out. Pop Burnout, and you can IH again right away for that extra little boost. Golden Dragonfly is over slotted in the hope that you can at some point squeeze in the Fury of the gladiator Chance for -Res, but for now a 6th Armageddon will fill in nicely. Super Speed is in at 20 with a Winter's Gift for a little bit of Slow resist, and can be teamed up with the Stealth IO in sprint for days when you're feeling extra sneaky.
I used the Decimation Chance for Build Up IO in Char, and that might leave you thinking "Huh?", but follow me for a second. I *Highly* suggest spending a few Paragon Points on the attuned "Market" version of this proc. As per Arbiter Hawk's recent post, this version uses a variable proc rate based on the average rate of "Once a minute". In Char, a power with a 32 second recharge rate this *should* mean the normally 5% chance for build up in the standard IO becomes around a 50% chance. Big group of Malta up ahead? Throw smoke into the eyes of the sapper and jump in singing. The Guassian's Chance for Build Up in BU has a much lower proc rate (5% Chance to fire, 24 Second recharge), but it's worth it for the smile that only a double (or TRIPPLE) built up critical hit with Golden Dragonfly can bring to your face. Especially if that poor unlucky Hellion has already been hit in his Achilles Heel (+20% damage).
A note on Incarnate powers:
Alpha slotted right now is Agility Core Paragon for extra recharge and Defence to get you up to that Incarnate sweet spot.
Judgement, Destiny, and Interface are all at your discretion. Personally, my choice would be Pyronic Core for the extra AoE damage, and Barrier for the extra mitigation/time to regenerate. Slotted int he posted build is Degenerative Radial for the poisoned blade aspect, but again it's up to you're concept. Reactive gives more damage and -Res, and is the most popular for a reason, but Degenerative is still a strong contender and more unique choice.

I slot 30-33's because they exemplar down well for TFs, and also as a relic from the time I've spent in Sirens Call.

Hey there folks.
It's been a long time since my last Night Widow, so I could use some advice. The goal with this build is to be incarnate softcapped, regular game softcapped to as low a level as possible, to skip hasten, and just generally destroy everything in my path. Tough is in the build only to open up Weave and will not be on my tray. Combat jumping and Weave are only really needed for I-trials, which is why I left them so late.
Fof Incarnate abilities, I'm going with Musculature Core, Reactive Radial, Rebirth Radial, Warworks Lore (Char is a praetorian who is infiltrating Arachnos), and probably Void Judgement since I'll be in melee all the time anyway and I haven't tried it yet.
My main concern is the lack of self healing. Rebirth will help with that, as will (Im hoping) the Panacea proc. Other than those though It looks like I'll just be toting around a tray full of greens.
Any comments or advice would be appreciated.

Just after you logged off, I found 2 level 33 Dam/Ends in my stock room. I probably have some Acc/Dams too, but I ahven't checked. Anyway, If thats suitable, send me a message.

The Fire/Cold I'm working on just go to level 39 last night, and I have to say, it's really come into it's own after getting Sleet and Heat Loss. Before 35 I pretty much felt like a gimpy blaster, but now the Sleet/Rain of Fire/fire ball/firebreath combo is melting spawns away like nothing else. I do a good amount of buffing/debuffing too (or at least, I could if I had the patience to keep the Ice Shields on all the time.
), Benumb/Infridgidate is enough even to make most hard targets like AVs/Bosses/GMs trivial.
Definately a late bloomer, but when it blooms, you *will* notice the difference. -

I made a few more tweaks based on what you guys have said. The build now has Softcapped Smashing/Lethal (45% exemped as low as level 41, 40% to 38), 1400 hp, Fire Breath in place of Flares, Vengeance at level 50 which will softcap teamates to all while in use (and I'm not sure if my mids is right on this or not, but aparently may be able to keep up perma so long as there is veng bait about), and a grand total of 161.3% global recharge.
Fire Breath *could* easily (by swapping maneuvers and Fire Breath) be switched out for Inferno for a little more global +rech (3.75%), but I don't think it would be as usefull as Fire Breath for general spawn clearing just because of it's tremendous recharge time.
I *did* keep the pet, just because I'm obsessed with pets. However, depending on what the APP's look like for Corruptors when Going Rogue comes out, I might switch from Mace Mastery to one of them (So long as theres a S/L def shield and Immob of some kind available).

Ok, I revised the build a bit using some of your advice. I moved a recharge IO from Rain of Fire and a slot from Sleet (dropped the Chance for negative damage), and added both of them to Benumb. I also moved a few slots around, so the larger set bonus's come earlier for exemplaring.
I'm not a huge fan of Vengeance, just becuase it's only useful if someone dies. On my other characters where I've have taken it, I find I'm usually too absorbed in blasting/debuffing to click it before they pop an awaken, or get rezzed by someone else.

Hey guys,
I'm just coming back after another break, and decided to take a look at a fire/cold corruptor. Mostly, it'll be used for TFs/SFs after Going Rogue. It's been a while since I've made a corruptor, so I wanted to see what you guys all thought. I went for S/L defence, and high recharge mostly. It ends up with 41% S/L (after Arctic Fog is fixed), and enough recharge to get Benumb down to 35seconds recharge, and hasten near perma. It is going to be expenssive, but I have some of the "big" IOs stashed away already. As for the rest, I like having something to work towards.
Any advice or improvements you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Basically, all the pet's powers are being treated like Strength of Will from the Willpower set. They will always recharge in the set amount of time, regardless of slotting, or any global recharge buff (like speed boost, and the 5 second +recharge buff granted by the Force Feedback Proc) which the pet receives.
You are seeing the proc fire, and it is granting the pet a recharge buff for five seconds, but the pets powers are ignoring it. -

While Benumb does have -500% regeneration, which is the same as Lingering Radiation, it also recharges 30 seconds slower base. Even with +170% recharge it's still not *quite* perma. If you miss a casting (which will happen), that 30 second wait could lose you a lot of the progress you've made (especially with the DE GMs).
More importantly, the lack of a self heal WILL hurt you. Even shielded your imps will die quickly unless you're tanking the mob. You will get hit, and chances are you will run out of greens before the AV/GM runs out of health.
Not taking hover is something I wouldn't recommend when trying GMs. Unlike AVs, you will not be able to immobilize them on your own, so they will pretty much just run right up and smack you in the face if you aren't careful.
EDIT:
Also, I wanted to add, one of the often overlooked things people like about /Rad for GM soloing is the end recovery bonus in AM. Without a good amount of recovery, you will be left gasping after a few minutes of sustained combat. You needs to be attacking enough to keep aggro off your imps, keeping yourself healed, and still casting all the required debuffs when they charge up. Sleet may only cost 12 end to use, but that adds up fast when you're using it every 20 seconds. You will need to get pretty close for heat loss, it may not be enough with just one target to keep you're blue filled up, and it *can* still miss if I remember correctly....just another thing to consider. -
Stoney does cap out at 90% to all but psi.
If you saw him taking "psi damage", it must have been the smashing portion of two type attack. (TK Blast deals smashing and psi, for example). -

So, to make a not very long story even shorter, I'm in the market for a new controller alt.While trying to think up which sets to go with, I came up with an idea for a conbination tht you reall ydon't see too much off in my experience, Earth/Sonic.
Now, on paper it should have excellent AoE hard lockdown, -Def and -Res debuffs (and great -tohit as well while liquify is up), good team buffs, and decent soft control with quicksand/earthquake.
The question I have is this: Looking at the numbers, and assuming Stoney dosen't have a resistence cap under 100% (He has 100% psionic res, afterall), it should be possible to get *all* of his resistances up to 100%. His lowest base resistance is in smashing at 40%. With 20% from the two pet res IOs, 23% from the fully slotted shields, and 17% from the bubble that should be just enough to turn this neigh unkillable mini-tank into a *completely* unkillable one.
The questions I have are:
A) Is this even possible, or does he have a cap I am unaware of?
and
B) Is worth it? Considering the amount of conrol I would already have, and the lack of individual damage capabilities compared to another primary -
There is a rule of 5, but LoTG 7.5's and Basilisks are considered to each be a different type of set bonus (even though both give the same amount of recharge). If you look in your set bonus list, LoTG's show up as "Luck of the Gambler: Increased Recharge Speed" and the bonus from Basilisks is "Huge Recharge Speed Bonus" (Or "Large", or something to that effect).

I've been running a couple characters lately, which fit that description to the letter.
I have a Plant/Storm controller, which is just devastating with Seeds of Confusion (which acts as a a great defensive power, as well as providing extra damage), Carrion Creepers (More defense, and even more damage), and Freezing Rain early on. Later on, using Roots (for the -kb protection it grants to mobs) and Tornado (Autohit damage, lots of it with 2 of them out a the same time, and it will keep ticking away on the unmoving targets without them being thrown acrross the room every 3 seconds). It has plenty of yummy IOing possibilities, with procs especially (Achilies Heel chance for -Res can go in Tornado and Freezing Rain, and dmage pocs in Carrion Creepers are things of beauty). All in all, its a fun combination,a nd one of my favourite controllers to date.
The other is an Elec/Shield Scrapper. It's less survivable early on, and really does need IOing to reach it's full potential in that regard. However, it does start with a bunch of nice AoEs (Jacobs ladder, Thunder Strike, Chain induction), looks snazzy cool, and later on is arguably one of the best AoE combos out there. Lightning Rod and Shield Charge together will just decimate spawns. If you're IOd to the defense softcap, taking on 8 person +4 level spawns is very doable. At level 35, I took mine into the RWZ, and started doing missions set to x8+1 without *too* much difficulty (As with any defense set though, Nemesis can be a handfull if you aren't carefull). This was a more expensive build than the Plant/Storm by far, but you get what you pay for.
I've also heard good things about Rad/Fire blasters, but I havent really had the chance to team with any (or make mine) yet. On paper though, it'll be a heavy PbAoE hitter and shouldn't be too squishy with the right build/tactics. -
Heres one I'm working on. Features include: softcapped defence, 100% Def debuff resistence (double stacked Active Defense), Shield Charge/Lightning Rod each back in 26 seconds, and Build Up in 28.
It will be very pricy though, especially with the PvP +3% def IO. Extra performance can be gained by putting purple sets in Fire Blast, Fire Ball, and Chain Induction without hurting any of the defence numbers.

Hey Folks,
I recently decided to start my first scrapper in quite a while, and after a bit of trial and error, I settled on Elec/SR. I figured it would be easier than /Shield to softcap while still getting the recharge levels I was looking for.
Heres what I've come up with so far, and it's a little bit on the pricey side I admit. It does softcap all positions (though not until 49), and it runs with about a 158% recharge bonus. I wasn't able to get in Aid self or tough, but if anyone has any suggestions, that would be most apprecriated.

This is the build I'm currently running. I'm sure it's far from optimal, but it does come with 45.5 Ranged defence (or 42.5% without the +3% pvp IO), flight, and some big orange numbers.
It's designed for TF running mostly, with superspeed +IO for stealthing...and flight/recall friend for those lovely nights in the shadowshard. I went with electricity mastery for the extra cone, but I'm sure you could modify it to suit your needs.
