I just checked as I am on a yearly payment and found that I was set to be billed November 9th. My autopayment had not been stopped and looked like it was set to bill again on that date. So I cancelled my account.

If any of the transactions are past the limit according to the card scheme you are with (Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, AMEX) then you can still try for a chargeback... but the chances of it then working are very very slim.
I work for a company that creates custom products for clients. You have up to 1 year to try for a chargeback. It will also be easier in situations where 30-120 days is shorter than the amount of time it would take to recieve your goods or services.

Oh, Paris, you can downgrade a very rare to the rare of your choice.
In addition, you can break it down to a number of threads.
In your OP you refer to breaking down the VR twice. Not downgrade, that is why I brought it up.

t-3 so I could make him +3. Rather than break it down, I decided to wait, maybe catch one in a subsequent trial.

Well, I have a lot of alts. More than a few 50s, and used some transfers to move some around to take better advantage of some of the more populated servers, so I could make room on my home server. Anyway, because there was some good Mo iTrials going on, I was going to break that very rare down, and well, it's gone. No rares, no very rares.

Just wondering if I'm getting confused or has something like this happened to someone else. I don't think I am, because I am looking at the badges for this toon, and I can see the dates they were awarded, and ugt is guaranteed very rare /rare - yet I have none in my inventory.

The sad thing is, even if I'm right (and, of course, I am fairly certain I am) I don't think the GMs can do anything about it.

This ever happened to any of you?
    Did you Downgrade or Breakdown?
If you Breakdown a VR you just end up with a bunch of Threads no Rare.

What about your Sound Control Panel options, what sound device is listed as your default playback device? Mine has the choice between Speakers and SPDIF (the HDMI). For some reason I've noticed that my system makes me change these manually now when switching to HDMI.

In the meantime, you could try fully uninstalling your nvidia HD Audio drivers using what's referenced here. Then delete all of the sound devices that are listed in Device Manager. Reboot, let windows load drivers on its own. If it can't reinstall all the drivers, then manually install them again using your installation CD. Cross a few fingers, test, and let us know!
Yes, that is the card I have. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it appears to work now. But for some reason in Device Manager under Sound, I have 8 "NVIDIA High Difinition Audio" devices. Not sure what the differences between any of them are except there are 2 each that say location 0-3.

And now this abomination of an IO appears. If I had the Inf, I'd buy every single one that came on the market and destroy it. The fewer of these that exists, the better. It unbalances several powers that were dependent on their knockback to be allowed to be that much more awesome, like Tornado and several AoE attacks.

But the worst part is, if this IO becomes even slightly common, it becomes a "requirement". Not officially, of course, but as you said, why not slot it in Crane Kick (except for losing the awesome "Kick badguy off high building" finishing move)? It's the "optimal" strategy. And that is terrible. Especially if it becomes a widespread idea. There's already too much unjustified stigma against knockback, this will not help that, at all. It will only make that problem worse. Much worse.

What we need is MORE knockback. Useful knockback, though, none of this "chance to" stuff. And stuff to knock enemies into, other than the Scrapper. We need knockback, a standout feature of CoH, to be awesome. The ability to affect Archvillains would be a nice place to start. Knockback is the only status in the game where a mag 10,000 protection exists. Why is that? It's not like there's anything dangerous left to knock anything into. That's nerfed already.

Frankly, I'm sorely disappointed that this IO even made it out of concept stage. It's such a bad idea, it should have been rejected outright. So many balance issues coming up...

And the worst possible thing? That this means that knockback will never get looked at properly, and turned into what it could have been. Knockback is a superheroic staple. It should have been front and center from the start.

The solution to the knockback "problem" is not to be able to switch knnockback off, it's to make knockback useful and desirable in several situations.
Any power that slows defeating enemies is a giant waste of time for everyone involved. That is all that knockback does. I have been praying for this enhancement for about 7 years now.

  10. I just got a HD tv to hook up to my computer and ran into a strange issue. If I run windows media player at the same time as CoH, the sound from CoH stops. I have to turn of WMP and restart CoH to get sound again. Sound works fine with the onboard sound. Anybody have any ideas?

Good to hear they are changing this. It is much too complex as it stands now. Thanks for the link.
  13. I have having difficulty wrapping my head around how ATO procs work. So somehow we're supposed to find the power with the base recharge + activation time closest to the proc per minute value and then max the recharge of that power so that it goes off more.
Yet after all that calculus somehow, "you can really slot these in any power you use and you will see them be effective."
I am trying wrap my head around this being a good idea. On one hand I don't want to gimp my characters by just tossing it in an attack I like but on the other I just don't get the calculus.
How is something like this condusive to a fun game?

As far as I know, a majority of video cards have no sound capability so pluging your HDMI into a computer will have no effect on the sound. Also, you will have to change your video settings when you plug into a TV.
