Quote:Oh, you're right. I recognize it now. It's actually Lady Winter from last year's Winter Event.
Avatea!
Who's this?
Black Scorpion partying on down! -
It's over.
It was very laggy. I fought for a bit, stood around waiting for something else to happen, went where something else was happening and fought for a bit, decided it was too laggy, hung out in my base while I watched the movie Igor.
When I came back I went to Pocket D and got titles for my two characters. I saw Black Scorpion who has 1324 badges but isn't even level-boosted. He danced pretty well though. Saw Avatea whose costume is the same as Sister Solaris the Oracle in the ITF. I want. Also saw Golden Girl, who has red panties, bet you didn't know that. -
I decided this morning to leave characters on both of my accounts logged in in my base. I don't really need to do that since I'll be home before this starts, but I thought I'd try it anyway. Only I thought of it 10 minutes before I left for work, and my laptop wasn't patched with Tuesday's update, so I didn't get both accounts logged in.
I'm not actually sure if my other account will still be logged in when I get home... game tends to crash on me after an hour or so of intense play. But standing around in a base all day might be just fine.
Anyway, once I get home I plan to log in both accounts and hang out a bit, maybe go out and try to participate in the invasion with my main computer. Nothing more than that planned though. -
Pretty sure the Devs are the ones who get to name it. ^_^
-
I can definitely say without a shadow of doubt that my electric melee/shield defense/fire scrapper is the most fun to play.
Not any em/sd scrapper. Just mine. ^_^ -

Server Transfers are 50% off!
You know, that thing that everyone complained bitterly about because when they did it a month ago everyone failed to notice until after it was over with, or because they offered it before the server list merge.
I moved a level 50 blaster from Virtue to Union, and in the process was able to change the name "Serpentine-Fire" to "Serpentine Fire". Yay for no dash in the middle! Now if I ever want to team with people on Union I have one 50 I can consider using for that purpose. ^_^
Oh, and in case you missed it:
SERVER TRANSFERS ARE 50% OFF -

I'm just waiting for the "Keys Island is too hard!" threads. You know, just like those BAF and Lambda are too hard threads that we got, and the Apex and Tin Mage are too hard threads that came before that... etc. ^_^
-
I'd mostly agree, but it should be noted that you can get 3 a-merits in 2 days purely solo, while the 3 empyrean merits per day requires teaming with a lot of other people.
But other than that, yeah, easier to get. Not hard to find a trial to join right now. -
If you use invention set enhancements then that statement is absolutely not true. I start enhancing my characters around level 30 and I can tell you that I have nowhere near enough slots at level 32 to have a nicely enhanced build. It isn't until above level 40 that my build starts to feel near complete.
My level 50 characters are a GREAT deal more powerful than my level 32 characters. -
Quote:All of this applies to me as well. I spent some 15 billion on Sparks Fly my em/sd scrapper, and am having fun playing her, she's a monster now. And I spent a good 8-10 billion on my night widow just before that, so I haven't had money to throw away.True for me. The 88's project on Virtue intrigued me, and I'm happy to have
been significantly involved with it.
That said, "been there, done that". It's checked off the Bucket List.
Also, the timing was better then, since I didn't have any characters I
was working on who needed/wanted "expensive" builds, so I had inf to
spare at the time.
Since then, though, I've made several toons that will have to make do
with my usual frankenslotting approach, but also two others that I'm
twinking out fully (@8-10 Billion each). The latter toons are intended to be
my incarnates, so, I'm equipping those two nicely.
That pretty much takes the bulk of my playing time and inf, so I'll just have
to pass along well wishes to the Away Team on this project.
Regards,
4
The next money I throw away will be on my own bases on various servers to see what I can accomplish all on my own. I really don't care that much if we regain #1 on Virtue or manage to get #1 on Freedom.
That said, any extra money that Wall Street Brawler earns goes to the Crazy 88's still. -
I like both, but I have to say that with my computer/game install acting up, it kind of decides to crash after an hour or so of intense play, I was worried about running the new trials due to the reported lag, but actually I get through them better than through one of the old TFs and that's because I'm only loading one map. I can certainly see how that would be an even bigger advantage for others.
Anyway, I do like the new trials. ^_^ That's a good format for developing future content I think. -
Hami raids on Virtue are traditionally Monday and Wednesday and Saturday blue side, and Wednesday and Sunday I think redside... might not have the weekend raids right. But after I20 came out people stopped doing hami raids. I haven't checked to see if they're doing them again.
Typically you can get a raid going with about 25-30 people. Max in zone is 50 of course. Monster Hunt is first phase, and during that you leave your inspiration tray with open slots because Essense of the Earth inspirations can drop and those are your only defense against hamidon type damage (normal defense and resist powers are useless against hamidon). Then when hami spawns -- which is random, can be right away or can take over half an hour -- teams regroup, buff up, and attack.
Before attacking hamidon you have to kill the mitos. Yellow mitos are attacked by melee characters -- they can't be attacked at range. They do big damage so the tank team needs to taunt them. Blue mitos are vulnerable to range, and can't be attacked by melee. They drain endurance. The green mitos heal. Typically you have teams of melee taking down the yellows while the tank team taunts them, and teams of ranged damage taking down the blues at the same time, then everyone attacks the greens, and all the while the main tank is taunting hamidon itself and has one or more support people keeping him/her alive.
And there are 4 waves... when hamidon reached 75% health, all of the mitos respawn. Same thing at 50% and 25% health.
In the old days teams would evac out after each respawn and reset everything, rebuff, and head back in for the next wave. Nowadays teams buff before the respawn and when the mitos respawn they move directing into mito clearing mode. Also, it's very typical to fight through the last wave instead of clearing the mitos -- eat an EoE and keep attacking hamidon until dead, while the tank team goes back to taunting the yellow mitos.
Sometimes people attempt to push through at 50% or even 75%, but that can be very dangerous if you fail because you can have a double or even triple mito bloom.
Something else that I've never actually participated in is a nuke raid -- everyone has warburg nukes and uses them all at once. I believe they'll clear the first mito spawn before doing this, but the idea is to nuke hamidon into the ground as fast as possible, without messing with the mito spawns. I know Virtue did one of these back in January I think.
Anyway. I've only been on one hami raid since I20 went live, and that was a redside raid on a weekend. -
Well, you can do it two or three ways. If you take a week or two to get the badge then you can sell a lot of what you make and turn a profit. If you do it like I did, then you sell everything for 1 influence if there are people actually bidding, and the rest of the stuff you either delete, give to people who are willing to take it, or find someone who is afk or logging off and dump them on him or her real quick. Doing that kind of amuses me, it's a challenge to see if I can do it without the person noticing me doing it.
But then, I didn't care if I lost a lot of money in the process. Maybe cost me 20 or 30 million in the end, I don't know. Not a number that I consider significant. -
Hmmm...
Well I thought you could. Guess I'm wrong. But you should be able to, then.
I can't check it from work anyway. -
Quote:I know I defeated Lusca at least once before burn got nerfed too. And I never deleted by fire tank, but I still don't play her. ^_^I remember defeating Lusca with one team of lowbies (20-30) way back in 2005; I know it was that year because because I was on my fire tank, which I deleted when Burn got nerfed. The trick was that I had a contact that sold inspirations and was pretty close to Lusca's spawn point (it was the south one close to Brickstown) so I would fly there, stock everybody up with Lucks, and then fly back and defeat 1-2 tentacles. When we ran out of inspirations, flew back and bought Lucks for everybody again. It took a while.

Quote:Depending on what window you're talking about... the crafting window at least you can set to not show memorized recipes, or only recipes that you have the salvage to craft. If only the tab for memorization recipes wouldn't be open everytime you open the window. That's the sole reason I don't go for the badges, it's a pet peeve of mine to have to close it everytime.
I set it by accident on one character and for the longest time I couldn't figure out what was wrong. -
Yeah, I do it for the workbench and the extra salvage storage.
I did that this weekend for Sparks Fly, my current favorite scrapper. I had over 500 items crafted already, and the Inventor badge from University, but I had none of the memorization badges. I managed to get field Craftier by Sunday just after Noon. ^_^
I was planning to do it for more than one character, but eh, it's too much work. I typically work up the energy to earn field crafter on a toon only once every 4-6 months.
As for buying crafted IOs... on cheaper IOs I'll do that when I'm working on a build, because I can slot them immediately. But on more expensive stuff I'll take the time to buy the recipe at a low to mid level price. Except that a month or so ago I paid 1.7 billion for a Panacea proc recipe and crafted it, and did not even realize that the crafted version was selling for just about 1 billion. O_o -
...is it anything more than a place to grab two explore badges, a transport hub to Cim (or other zones), and sometimes a place where you can start an incarnate trial?
What I'm asking is: when will there come a time when you click on the magical time-travel crystal and it asks you what destination in time you'd like to visit? As in, there's more than one?
I was just thinking yesterday that we have a Steampunk pack coming out, and it would be perfectly suited for a trip into the 1870's or so. Maybe an early encounter with Nemesis?
I know they've got a lot of things that they'd like to do, and probably will never have enough time to do them all. But it would be a shame if the Midnighter's Club never went anywhere else. -
Everybody gets to be a tank/mage! It's up to you to decide what flavor of tank/mage you want to play.
But yeah, I do have a level 50 troller and three level 50 defenders, and I haven't felt particularly compelled to bring them to any of the incarnate stuff. -
So what you're saying is, my em/sd scrapper has a better chance than my MM, right?
-
Eh, damage in general and scrappers in particular have always been more fun for me. But I'm working hardest on my night widow for the trials, which I can legitimately pretend is more than simply a damage dealer. ^_^
-
MA can be a bit endurance heavy. I have four level 50 MA scrappers, so I like the primary quite a bit. It's fun, but mostly because of the animations, not because I feel like an awesome damage-dealer.
