So i try to log in and it tells me that my account has no access to this server (Beta Server 01 ... the only one "up")

Account ***** is not allowed on this server. reason: Public access to this server has been disabled.

So, then i ask, how do i get into the beta ? or is the Public beta servers just down ?

I have recently returned to COH and i came back and there are Incarnate powers.

how do i get them, what quests/trials do i have to do in order to get them. is there a sticky or a web page somewhere on this?

I have several 50's and would like to improve them through this process.

Free to play MMo's suck for one reason. All the idiots that play them. I will gladly put up my $15 to continue to play this game to keep out the serious A** Hats that a free game like Guild wars has ( though it's a neat game, i stopped playing it because of the A** hats)

If City of Heroes ever becomes free.. I will pack up all my costumes, dismiss my alts, and initiate the self destruct sequence on my base as i am flying out of Paragon.

Haha i love reading this stuff when there is an exploit.. seriously it's hillarious. To hear numerous people Mitch and Boan about the situation and yet they have the option in the game to never play in that exploit. I mean since it is not effecting your game why care ? Seriously.

I don't play in the ae's at all (unless there is a wicked story in it regardless of XP) but when I ask someone to a team and and I see that they don't have a clue how to play the toon OR they ask newb questions like where is KR or the Tailor (et al.) then i utilize the options that is available to me

1) Boot them from the team. If you don't know your character..hit the bricks split.

2) I will invite them to stay in the team ( if i am the only on it with him/her) and then i will give them a tour of the city. If they are playing an AT that i am familiar with i will help them learn the character, because if they don't know, who's gonna teach them ? then i point out some of the boards online that help you play various ATs.

But i digress. in the end it's not going to wreck YOUR game. so they got to 50 with their toon before you got there with yours.. its not really a big deal. perhaps you should be more concentrated on your game then someone else's. As for all the spamming either use the ignore button or just ignore it untill you get to your next door mission.

So seriously, we are all adults here and i have no doubt that some time in our lives at one point or another we have had to "suck it up" So you really have 2 options until it is fixed either suck it up, or ask for some cheese with your whine. Might I suggest the Brie?

Perhaps its time for the game to progress beyond a reward every three months, perhaps every 6 months or yearly, then the Devs have much more time to come up with something more "epic" ( if you will) Not that i am saying the free one time use xp is bad, it's pretty cool but perhaps an improvement on it would be a 25 to 50% exp bonus ( or somehwhere in between) for 1/2 hour a day ( doesn't apply to Ae missions in any way) that way it't something the older vets get for being loyal to the game, and the power levelers cant get it untill they have played the game for 6.5 years(ish) A one time use xp bonus for someone who has played the game since it's retail release is a little weak to be honest.

If your playing a toon that has already lvled to 50 ( more lvls please) then perhaps it could be applied to inf instead, 25 to 50% inf bonus ( or somehwhere in between) for 1/2 hour a day. though the bonus inf shouldn't be allowed to be used to buy SG prestige ( quite honestly no inf it should be. Prestige should be earned not purchased since there is a ranking system involved and some SG's use that to promote thier SG's)

No no i was thinking that everyone in the group could use it. if it was a one person deal I wouldn't suggest it, since i suggested it to help recover quickly from a wipe.
if you summoned the NPC on the street, then any passer by could use it or simply just for your group. I can't see this as being something that would unbalance the game at all since only vets would get it, perhaps adding it as a 3 year + vet reward.

And as for selling items to the npc, yeah a low price, in the end it would just be a function to get rid of your junk in hopes of making room for something better (or something you might need recipe wise) to drop off the mobs. If you wanting a good price, thats what WW is for

Is there anyway to adjust the graphics options from a file in the CoH folder?

in the test the game worked fine with those settings, So natually since they worked fine on test they would work fine on live (*sigh* yeah i know, I'm an idiot)

I had some graphics issues with live, so i tried to turn down the watereffects from ultra and WHAMMO! crash, tried again... crash.. again... crash.. rinse and repeat.

I had the same issues in Beta with that if i went to high in the ultramode.

once i played with the settings ( i have a screenshot of my ingame graphics settings)

HOWEVER once i tried to apply the same settings to live, CoH keeps crashing everytime i try to turn down the water effects.
I could understand the issue if i was turning up the graphics.. but turning them down ??

So i had to set ultramode is off for me, which sucks seeing as it's the biggest piece of the content for this issue.

An Idea I had for a vet reward.

How about being able to summon an npc that sells inspirations and (possibly) You can sell items to him/her/it, to free up slots for more salvage that might drop?

Being able to buy inspirations from a summoned NPC would certainly help alot during a wipe or if your healer is out of inspirations.

Now mind you I don't think it should be a all the time kinda thing, perhaps timed, or even have limited inspirations untill a certain time requirement has been met.

Some food for thought.

I have to say that i was pretty unimpressed with the Q&A.

Most of it had to do with GR. I wanna see G.R. as much as the next person, but I was looking forward to more questions dealing with the game itself as opposed to a yet to be released expansion.

Does anyone seem to have any issues running a cordless keyboard with CoH ??

I ask because I have a Kensington Pilotboard wireless keyboard and man oh man it hates CoX.

I have no issues with it at all until I run COX.

Then it freaks out. I lose control of the character, he runs either around in circles or starts jumping down the street turning left and right, Agroing everything along the way of course , Then of course, I end up in the hosp.

now during all this in local and broadcast It types out either in local or broadcast ( it surprises me)

Now at this point in time the mobs are laughing as me while they roast me and the pedestrians shuffle by and laughing and forming an L on their forheads with their thumb and index finger.

My batteries are fresh, I have no other wireless anything in my room and it only happens in CoX.

Any idea what the heck is going on ??

Speaking of ATI wierdness.

I have my graphics up as high as i can get them ( with no issues at all)
however when i come across any water, it will show a relection of the back of my toon and upside down. my last video card actually showed a proper reflection (iirc) but have had this issue since i dropped in my ATI card. so it's strictly a ATi issue.

I can understand the peeps at NCSOFT not wanting anyone to mess with the software, so how about letting us edit the maps from with in the game as you can in Everquest.

In EQ you can input names, draw lines and pretty much edit your map anyway you want to ( since for whatever reason SOE doesn't like to actually like to provide maps at all... that sucks)

I think that would be a nice thing to beable to do to your own maps. then you always know on your maps where badges /plaques are certain lvl of mobs in the different areas of the zone your in.

Editing your own maps of the various zones doesn't give anyone an advantage in the game. You still have to collect the badges/ plaques etc your self, your just jotting down the locations of them on your maps so that you have a personal reference to them for your other toons.


Please let us edit our own maps with in CoX. please please please


Even if you produced an issue and the only thing you put in that issue was the ability to edit your maps in game, I would be happy as a pig in Poo. ( if a pig is truely happy in poo )
