There are several ways to get the first slot (Alpha slot):
1. There are new league based (more than one team, up to 6) trials that can be run to earn incarnate XP.
2. There's also a story arc that can be run to do so.
After that, you collect components various ways and use them to craft your powers. Shards drop from nearly anything and Threads come from the trials mostly. Bigger components drop from various task forces and the trials as end of task rewards.

And welcome back! Not sure how long you were gone, but especially the last year or two there have been a lot of changes: new systems, TFs, zones, etc. It wouldn't hurt to give a read over the changes with the various issues to see what changed if you have the time.

First slot, Alpha, talk to Mender Ramiel in Ouroboros. Ask for a portal anywhere it's crowded if you don't have access to Ouroboros.
After you do Mender Ramiel's mini little arc, you'll be set to get Incarnate powers. You'll need to get Notice of the Well eventually from the Weekly Strike Target (a Task Force that changes every week) and the shards you get can be used to craft Alpha slot powers.
Also get on the various Trials that we have now, which are for the other four incarnate slots available. You'll need both XP and the new components from those trials to open new powers and craft them.

Please note - AT THE MOMENT, the rate at which you earn XP in the incarnate trials may seem awfully slow to you. The XP is currently bugged. They were making some changes to allow XP on the trials to be rewarded more evenly across different size teams but introduced a bug in the process. This is known by the developers and they are working on a fix. I would expect it to be fixed within 1-2 weeks.

how do i get them, what quests/trials do i have to do in order to get them. is there a sticky or a web page somewhere on this?
I have several 50's and would like to improve them through this process.
